Nightmare of an experience for me. Affirm fraudulently withdrew unauthorized payments for months totaling $222.46 before I realized it and contacted them to investigate the charges. I won, and a refund was owed. However 5 months later, they still refuse to correct the wrong they did. Literally every time I try to contact them about it, I spend 15 minutes answering verification questions on my account to the point of limited patience. This company is a fraud. DO NOT RECOMMEND. SCAM.

They charged interest even after returning the product ie not buying it.

I'm a customer of this company now I went online to see how much it's going to be so I can pay it off it had $1,070 on there I called to make sure that was the right price the lady check and she said that's the correct price why when I go back 2 days later to pay it off they have add another $1,000 to the account I don't feel like that's right I called customer service the first one hung up in my face the second one did know what they was doing the third said the lady didn't know she was talking about or what she was looking at and I told her yes she did that's why I called to make sure that was correct price and she's like oh well I don't know what happened at the numbers change y'all know exactly what happened y'all are some rip off y'all are some real people and I'm very unhappy with you

It ll started out good. Then when I lost my second job I fell behind on payments and Affirm sent my account to collections, which I AM PAYING ON.
However I asked Affirm for forgivness and to "Pay for Delete", like every other human based company.
The basically said "F@#$ You" and we refuse to take it off as it is illegal.
For more than 6 agents on the phone in one call, every one quoted law a it is illegal.
It isn't illegal in fact if you read the FCRA it specifically calls out "Pay for Delete".
So the company flat out lies to you and refuses any leeway at all. Loosing my second job was bad enough. Now dealing with a HEARTLESS COMPANY only makes it worse and I'm sure my $1,000 debt that is being paid off, is going to ruin my chances at buysing ahouse for my family.
For 1 single collections, that's being paid and AFFIRM ensures doing business with them will cost me for at least 7 years.
STAY AWAY FROM AFFIRM!

Please don’t use affirm. I had my first purchase that didn’t go well and affirm basically will ignore all evidence you submit to support what happened and will stand firm with the merchant. I explained in detail the check out process near mlk day sale. And after I reached out to the merchant about my order. I thought I was buying a bed. And when it came it was just a base. I showed what I had in my cart. The text messages I received about the item in my cart. Emails with the exact same name of the item thst said it had a 120 day trial. The evidence I sent them says all this. I told them the whole check out process on thst day. Then I told them how the check out process changed because I back tracked after getting the base to see how this could happen. I let them know on the 3rd thst they had sheets that came with it. Because it was a different sale/promotion running. They again chose to ignore that. I been with affirm since they were new. Not 1 issue ever with a purchase. They just disregarded everything and went with the merchant what ever they said was fact. Written in stone. They wrote to the CFPB that I was a liar. Because they literally said thst I took the mattress out of the cart and ordered a base. So that would 100% make me a liar. The customer service is horrible. And they really expect me to be unhappy with everything and just accept it and pay for it which I refuse to do. Im not paying for something I do not want. They know Im unhappy I complained to every agency. But the crazy thing about this situation is I don’t have a track record of lying and trying to get over. Guess who does the merchant. Long track record of false advertising, lying, cheating, scamming. I saw back from 2017- current many things from cheating employees. Cheating on import export. And was in trouble with the trade commission, all types of violations and litigation. And had over 80 complaints this yr. Because they literally said parent company is bbb certified. So affirm would be just as bad. Especially when they can see with there own eyes false advertising and them putting saying in fine print that particular iteam cant be returned or exchanged when they are advertising it on the website, through text, through email. It went from being called the best deal on the web. To just a base after I received it and that what the terms say no adjustable bases can be returned. After saying it comes with a 120 trial. And affirm sees all this and purposely ignored it and mentioned what the merchant said. I know Im not the only 1 this happened to. It’s impossible because the advertising is very confusing. It shows pictures of a bed. And what you would think a bed is. It has a mattress. The only explanation that would make any sense is the story I told. That when you select the item it says pick your mattress it’s described as a bundle deal. The best deal on the web and when I selected my mattress it sent the flex bed to my cart. I left it in the cart for a few days and I got emails and texts about the item in my cart saying it had a trial so I had no reason to be suspicious. Everything changed when I got the box and it was 1 thing a base. Why would I be making a big deal over something o knowingly removed out of the cart. To play stupid risk about $800. It doesn’t even make sense. What’s my angle what would be the upside to this. And why not do this in the past with other orders. I never returned anything that I used affirm for. All the evidence of lying and being deceptive with false advertising is on the merchant jacket not mines. So this is unacceptable. Use your credit card or something because you have zero protections at all and affirm will do anything to not side with you even if it’s right in there face. Im totally confused how I would remove something from my cart. Then put up a big stink about it after I received it. I would know a mattress wasn’t included because I removed it. Why would I contact the merchant within minutes after getting it and refuse to open it a keep asking to send a unopened box that I do not want back. It makes absolutely zero sense how somebody can type that when none of the actions line up with it. If that was the case it would be opened and I would probably be asking for a free mattress to get over but Im not. So whoever wrote that has to lack the most basic of common sense. Noting lines up at all of that happing. Maybe they believe ppl are slow like very slow. Child like to believe that.

I have had multiple loans, and even paid off a few early. I currently have 2 loans, but nothing outrageous. I have not been late one time on any of my payments, yet now Affirm says I have no purchasing power thru them. It was nice while it lasted, but once I get my last loans with Affirm paid off, I will be using another service for payment loans.

The Affirm credit card operates differently from a standard credit card as it requires approval for each purchase and mandates an initial payment before approval. This was not the experience I anticipated when applying for the card, as I assumed it would operate similarly to a traditional credit card. The process of seeking approval and making upfront payments for every purchase can be inconvenient, particularly in urgent situations where immediate funds are not accessible. Furthermore, handling multiple payments throughout the month can pose challenges. My intention is to settle the $400 balance by April and subsequently close my Affirm credit card account.

I have made multiple attempts to resolve an issue regarding one of my orders, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. I have called several times, repeatedly requested the customer support email, and have sent five separate emails regarding the same issue without receiving a meaningful resolution.
The overall level of service has been very poor. When I am finally able to reach someone by phone, the customer support representatives show little to no urgency or willingness to assist in resolving the problem or even offer a reasonable solution.
It is frustrating and unacceptable to make this many attempts to address a simple issue without any real progress or accountability. I expected far better customer service and support from a company of this size.
Quick to take a payment or say you owe but not to help resolve..

They have no problem taking your money. I always paid on time with them and suddenly I can not use shop pay through them anymore because they claimed I have bankruptcy on my account which is false because I have never filed that. They would not give me the information of the attorney that supposedly did this filing I’m unaware of. I called equifax to get my credit report and told them of the situation and they had no record of bankruptcy which I already knew they wouldn’t because I never filed for that. So they are sending me a credit report to send to affirm to show there is no bankruptcy under my name. Affirm also refuses to dispute this even though I told them the report they got is false.

I don't get this service. They say you have X dollars in "purchasing power" then when you go to request a payment plan they want you to pay almost half upfront. For example if they say your purchasing power is $290 and you spend close to that on a purchase when you go to request a payment plan they charge you $140. up front. How is that $290. in "purchasing power?" RIDICULOUS!!
Since I can't respond to the Affirm post, I'll update here. I was approved for $290.00 in purchase power. I was required to pay $140.00 upfront. That's not utilizing my $290.00 purchase power...IT'S SIMPLE. If you ask me this is a bait and switch ploy. If someone is approved for a certain amount then they should be able to use that amount...PERIOD!!!!

I decided to contact their support via chat regarding a few accounts for which I had an outstanding balance that I brought up to date. I wanted to know when they would report to the credit bureaus that the accounts were in good standing. It seemed like no one understood what I was asking (despite being very clear) and I was transferred three times to different supervisors before I finally decided to end the chat because it was clearly getting no where. I would rate the support 0 stars. It was very frustrating, and I hope they do report the correct information to the credit bureaus.

This is a complete scam!
I made a purchase on Etsy for the holidays using Affirm. Unfortunately, the seller never sent the item. I mistakenly paid Affirm ahead of schedule thinking I was getting ahead, and the items never shipped. While the entire purchase was refunded by Etsy, it was not by Affirm. When the refund was processed by Affirm, they deducted interest because I had paid ahead of time and refused to refund the interest. I learned my lesson and closed my Affirm account. I will never use Affirm again. If you haven’t received any goods, don’t pay ahead of schedule.

Do not buy anything online with affirm, if there is a chance you’ll need to return it! My daughter purchased two chairs with target and used affirm to pay and they were broken so she had to return them! Target said they’d issue a refund and gave her a gift card they said had .50 cents( something about the shipping fee) and the rest would post to her bank account within a few days. It was never issues, but shows in the system it was fully put on the gift card, which is was NOT!!!! Affirm continues to try to take the payments and we have called both places!! Because target shows it went on the gift card( we do show our original receipt from target that does show it was .50 cents, neither will do anything about it! Target said today we can call and try to get a new gift card, but affirm is still wanting the $100!!!! It’s truly bullshit! Never again with target or affirm

Duped us into paying high Apr and not mentioning how much would be the interest over a period of time when speaking over call for the same , in spite of the main service provider ordering a full refund. Please don’t choose affirm ever again. People reading this review have been warned.

Dog sh*t, worst customer support I've ever experienced, tried making an account for months now same message about not being eligible even though I use other payment plan type apps, support said they could help but spent half an hour transferring me back and forth from department to department. If you're considering affirm just don't, it may work for a time but if anything goes wrong don't count on customer support I'm just gonna make my purchase in full and save myself the hassle

Would give AFFIRM and SHOPIFY a 0 for refunding monies, I would!!! They say dispute with seller company. Then if you don't get any type of resolution before the 130 days, then you are money lost or credit unworthiness to them. Had several successful buys, but if you are looking g to them to get your money back, it will be a mess!!! Orders totaling almost $500 I didn't receive but yet they don't want to give e up the monies. It's not fair to the buyer to deal with ALL this BS from these companies. Affirm and Shopify, yes you are a company also to be put in that category

I have had loans from Affirm which all were paid off early. Since then I keep getting denied even though I have $5800 spending available. Reason being given is my account is locked which I did not do. Customer Service is a joke as I received nothing but attitude when I called. After reading the other complaints I think I am just going to close my account and call it a day.
