No Standards

Reply to AFFIRM; its with EVERYWHERE, including the ones offered to me on your app. There's no confusion, its exactly how I said it was.
How do I have a 730 credit score, 9 year credit history, and a full time job paying almost 6 figures, and yet you guys cant help me buy a 300 dollar desk?
What a terrible company, they never actually have standards, ive noticed they only accept people who have a history of not being able to pay. If you have a history of always paying, they never accept you.

Purchasing power dropping for no reason

Been with affirm for a while now.. my purchasing power was up to 12,000$. I payoff all my loans very quick. I noticed today my purchasing power fell down to 4,000$. Credit score has been the same since I got with affirm. How did my purchasing power fall that much, when I triple my payments on every loan? Done!

Beware of Discounts Being Honored

I was enjoying Affirm until today. I tried to place an order on Target. The purchase would not go through because Target had discount offers on the items I purchased. I spoke to five or six people which was truly frustrating. I explained my issue and asked if they could honor the $20.40 discount with proof after paying full price. They stated no. If I do this on Klarna or Afterpay, they just focus on the total and do not think the discounts are gift cards being used with the purchase. I was truly disappointed in Affirm. I will pay off what I owe and no longer use them. It's sad that consumers are taken advantage of. Affirm refuses to recognize when a merchant offers discounts to consumers. Learn to use your brains and not AI. In these days we are living, some people do not know critical thinking and customer service. It got so bad with a man I spoke to, I ended up cursing him out and hung up after I asked him if I could speak with someone who was not combative like him. Hopefully Affirm gets it together and makes the shopping experience with discounts more pleasant for customers.

Today I received a response from Affirm. They clearly do not understand my concern. It's not the merchant, it's Affirm. Afterpay and Klarna see the total balance, Affirm does not. They think promotions and discounts are gift cards. I am done with this matter and Affirm.

Choose Affirm over Klarna. ALWAYS.

As a woman who is addicted to shopping on Amazon, the same way Nick Cannon is addicted to procreating, I am so grateful for Affirm. They offer flexible payment options, including longer terms. This is convenient, especially in this poor economy. I always pay my loans ahead of the due date, and Affirm treats me like a great client. This is opposite of Klarna, who treated me like I was Prince Andrew of the Royal Family. Choose Affirm. ALWAYS.

No Resolution

It's been over a month now and no resolution to confirming my identity. So I have to take time out and call in to have a rep pay on my loan for me. This last time I was too annoyed because I had to yell at an AI to get me to a live agent because this robot could not help me resolve my issue. These experiences has not been pleasant and I am over this company.

Terrible company and I refuse to use…

Terrible company and I refuse to use them again!
Have been dealing with an ongoing dispute with a seller for some time now and affirm just have not listened to my side of the story! I am frustrated and upset! You are unable to read messages that they send to you as you receive an error message constantly! I have called numerous times about my dispute and not understood. I have seeked legal advice as my purchase was missing items and does also not work!! I have contacted the seller to return the item due to the above but affirm took the sellers side! I have taken Legal advice and they have confirmed I have a case to take this further! Very disappointing that I am unable to discuss this with affirm and have been completely ripped off by a seller!!!!! Disgraceful!!!

I got afirm for quite sometime and…

I got afirm for quite sometime and always paid their money on time and never missed a payment. I used to owe them thousands of dollars and paid all. This morning I was about to buy my ticket and decided to check my purchasing power and said $3000. I went to priceline.com to buy my ticket and used my affirm account, no notification was sent to me that they have declined my transaction on the priceline.com website. This morning while I was scrolling on my bank account I showed priceline.com has changed my checking account $2174 and I went to my email and showed email from affirm that they couldn't approve my loan. I logged in to my account still it's showing purchasing power $3000. If that's balance why do you failed to approved my purchase?
I don't think I'll use them anymore.

DONT USE

DONT USE. If you get a refund from the retailer, you will still have to pay interest. What a complete con. Will never purchase a product they are financing ever again.

Hi there. Paid interest is typically not refundable. When you make payments, the money is first applied to the accrued unpaid interest and then the principal. Since the interest is the only cost of borrowing with Affirm, it is not refundable. –JS, Customer Care

It was awesome at first

It was awesome at first. Then we ran into a little bit of trouble with our finances. Then affirm proceeded to destroy my credit. I then paid off the entire account. Thinking they would actually report to the credit bureau that it was paid in full. Nope they are quick to destroy your credit but take their sweet ass time helping your credit. I do not recommend using this company if you like your credit score.

Broken Dispute Portal & Ignoring Section 75 Fraud Claims

If you are a victim of fraud, Affirm’s systems are designed to make you fail.

We used Affirm to finance a purchase that turned out to be a verified counterfeit item (fraud). We opened a dispute, but Affirm’s online resolution portal is an absolute nightmare. When you upload crucial evidence (like official manufacturer counterfeit reports and Police Crime Reference Numbers), the portal provides no confirmation, no email receipt, and no visible history of your attachments. It is a 'black hole.'

Because of this severely flawed system, Affirm prematurely closed our dispute, claiming we "failed to provide evidence"—evidence we had absolutely submitted. They then tried to direct us back to the scammer's own return policy, completely ignoring their joint liability under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

We are now having to bypass their broken portal and email supervisors directly just to get a paper trail, while preparing a formal complaint for the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Do not use Affirm. If something goes wrong, their system will protect the fraudulent merchant, lose your evidence, and leave you chasing the debt.

798 credit score and denied purchasing power

I plan on canceling Affirm once my balances are paid off. It is nearly close to impossible to rely on this service for vacation planning since they constantly change the purchasing power. My credit score was low to my standards, at around 691 and my purchasing power was 1300.00 but when I paid off all my credit cards, my utilization dropped and my score jumped 107 points after I paid off all my credit cards after Christmas. So my score jumped to 798 and I kid you not, when they did a soft pull to determine my purchase amount, I was denied anything because it says my accounts history is too short and to wait 14 days for an account refresh and then mention their decision is final. How does that make any sense? Deny me when my credit is almost perfect but give me 1300.00 when my credit was in the higher 600's? What?! My balance on Affirm actually dropped. I'm done! Not a reliable service for by now pay later. Oh, and I have NEVER been late in the 3 years I've had this.

We are sorry to hear about this and certainly understand your frustration. Because we consider each transaction separately, the amount that you can borrow from Affirm will be dependent on the information that we have at the given time. Just because your loan wasn’t approved for a particular purchase doesn’t mean you can never obtain financing with Affirm. You are welcome to try again in the future.

Beware

Beware. I have spent 3 months dealing with Affirm. I had a problem of Affirm’s making. I received only condescending treatment. It consumed 15 exchanges with merchant Paul Frederick, my credit card company, which stopped payment to Affirm after reviewing the evidence - and AFfirm. Affirm customer service was routinely smug and absolutely futile. I gave up. I offered to make an immediate payoff on the balance - minus $5 as a token gesture of the grief Affirm caused. Instead, affirm turned the account over to a collection agency. I have a credit score of 830-840. Mortgage paid off and can pay cash for the next new car purchase
This is all about principle, Buyer beware .. Affirm is a ruthless company with customer service reps ill-suited to resolve problems.

It was a wtetched experience. I will keep warning others.

Never deal with them or its affiliates…

Never deal with them or its affiliates such as shop pay etc! In 2024 I order a dermapen aka dermablast skincare tool through shop pay! I made 2 payments on it, but it never arrived. I reached out to the merchant immediately but the merchant was permanently out of business, i left emails , I went through all the channels to dispute the charges like clock work, nobody got back to me, I dispute it with shop pay and was told I had to dispute and report the incident to affirm. I did that several times and I got nothing in return! I recently checked my credit report and they charged the remaining balance of that dermapen off to my credit. I tried again to dispute it with them and they said since it has been over 120 days that nothing can be done about it! Well that is terrible because if a merchant for whatever reason decided not to send your product then that means you still have to pay for nothing or they will hurt your credit! At the end of the day this is robbery and you loose big time! Also I spent thousands of dollars with Affirm and shop pay!! I valued my accounts with them! This one thing happened and the held me red and hung me out to dry rot in ground. They blamed me for the store going out of business! On top of that I tried to dispute it off my credit and they responded and said my charge is valid! Like I said I’m done! Never again! No one there to correct it, just apps and AI bots! I’m done done with this crappie company!!

Company doesn’t protect buyers

I have used this company for 2 years. I’ve never had an issue until I bought a printer from swing Design. The printer came defective. I contacted swing design for a refund and they are unwilling to give me one even though procolor the manufacturer of the printer agreed to the return. I opened a dispute with affirm 3 times. Spoke to supervisors to resolve the issue. The first supervisor wrote a summary on the matter and pointed out the discrepancy in swing design return policy. The “investigators” at affirm took 1 day to investigate the dispute and got no information from swing design. They then cancelled the dispute in favor of the merchant. The last supervisor was rude and did absolutely nothing. I have since filed a claim with BBB, Florida attorney general office and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. According to affirm they paid out Swing Design for the loan and can’t do anything to retrieve the money I spent $3000 for the broken printer. Additionally they now want me to pay $3399 the balance even though the printer is broken. This company doesn’t care about their customers which is unacceptable especially since we are the ones paying the interest and putting money into their business. I have taken out many loans and paid all of them but I refuse to pay another penny for a broken printer.

Trying to steal from the elderly

My mother tried to purchase a bed cover shell for her pick up truck a few months ago on eBay using affirm to pay for it. it said that everything went through good on her end and she then received a message from the seller stating that the item had already been sold and he thought the posting had been pulled down. But Affirm is still trying to make her pay for the shell even though she never received the item. My mother is 74 years old and on a fixed income and sad that Affirm is trying to steal from an elderly woman because of a mistake on their end. She said she’s not going to pay for an item she did not receive. They even had a Law Firm call her today about it.
