Extremely prompt dispatch and delivery. The staff at the end of the phone are very helpful. I had a question about what the different types of Saphir Dubbin do/should be used for, and they went away and wrote an entire blog post for the benefit of future customers. Very few businesses still operate like this, and I commend the team at A Fine Pair of Shoes for actually taking customer feedback and questions on board. I will continue to be a returning customer.

The customer service is very patronizing.

Initially, I was very happy to find the exact pair of shoes I was looking for. I placed an order for them. It turned out the size was too big.

I attempted to return them and discovered that there would be a £45 shipping fee to return them. Plus I would be charged another £45 for shipping a new pair of shoes.

I reached out and kindly asked if there could be a discount. They offered a discount of 10% for a purchase of £75 or more. However, this discount code is the same discount that anyone can find on the internet. In short, they offered me nothing.

I reached out a few times to ask and clarify this and never received the decency of a reply.

This lack of response and the patronizing act of offering a discount when it's not a discount at all is not what I expect of a store that is supposedly selling fine shoes.

In the original reply they claimed they were a small company and could not do much. I am a "small" customer too.

As an online shoe store where customers can not try on shoes before purchase, they should expect the possibilities of returns and exchanges.

It is unfair for the customer to shoulder all shipping costs for returns and exchanges especially when the shoes are probably already marked up by at least 75%.

Great shoes, arrived on time. I will order again.

They also gave me advice on sizing on which proved to be correct.

This is the second pair of boots I’ve bought from them. The packaging, presentation, (little things like a thank you card etc) and service is excellent. The quality of the shoes they stock is also excellent. I don’t usually leave reviews but I really like this company.

Original Pair were on the large side for a 12, alternate brand (Berwick) swapped promptly and fit perfectly as an 11, again a generous size. Nicely made, quality feel and look just right!

Last month I bought the tongue pads for some designer loafers and they were great. On this occasion I ordered the tongue pads and also the heel grips. I called their customer service before I made the purchase and asked whether taking the heel grips would damage the shoes. I was assured that they won’t damage the shoes.

Upon arrival I put in the heel grips and tried the shoes on multiple times, but they still didn’t fit correctly and I decided that I need to go a size down. When I took the heel grips off they had damaged the area where it was. The white adhesive was glued onto the leather and I had to try really hard to get it off as it was being returned. I still couldn’t remove it 100% but luckily the brand had not noticed and exchanged it for a smaller size.

But if they had not then it would’ve cost me 900 pounds for shoes that don’t fit. As I said I was happy with my first order of tongue pads and they did fix the problem however I’ve not tried to remove the tongue pads off the other pair of shoes. So I’m unsure whether the tongue pads have also damaged the shoes but the ones I did remove the tongue pad and heel grip from left residue behind therefore damaging the shoes.
