I had the worst experience with this firm
I had the worst experience with this law firm. I paid a lawyer in this firm to followup my asylum procedure but after 5 months plus, nothing was done for my case. Firstly, we decided on the total cost for my case and i sent a deposit so he could start my application for my asylum and work permit. After paying, it took about 2 months and i didn't get a receipt for my case so i got back to the lawyer and he told me he had applied for my Defensive asylum already by mail but that didn't sound normal because everyone i knew with same status as me at that time had applied for affirmative asylum instead so i told the lawyer that i think he was supposed to apply for an affirmative asylum instead due to my status but he got mad at me and told me he's been doing the procedure for so many years so i should stop telling him what to do and just wait. I had no choice but to wait and after few weeks, i asked him if there was any update on my case but he instead made me to feel so bad by telling me i'm so impatient and even stopped replying me at some point. Note that i've more than 6 friends that applied for thesame procedure with different lawyers and got their case receipt numbers in few days from applying but i was already 2 months plus with no receipt number to show so i knew something was wrong but i could'nt express myself because anytime i asked about my procedure from my own lawyer, he always didn't reply or when he does, it seemed like i was bothering him so i just had to wait . At the end of the 3rd month, i received a message from my lawyer as an image and when i read what it said, i noticed it was a denial form from the immigration saying he applied for the wrong form and he was supposed to apply instead for an affirmative asylum form. I felt sad and down because i told the lawyer about this months ago but he instead almost insulted me. After reading the denial form, the lawyer called me for the first time and managed to convince me it was a normal mistake and that he'll apply for the affirmative asylum. I was a little bit mad because several months had already passed by and i had just few months left for my application deadline to close. I kept cool and still pleaded on him to redo the application as soon as possible because i didn't have much time left. He assured me that he's going to do it but after more than 3 weeks , i sent a message to the lawyer asking if he had applied for the form as i was already running out of time but i got no reply from him until few days later when he messaged me back saying i'm so impatient, said he runs a law firm and not a beer parlor and ended up saying i should send my ID so he could start the application. I felt really bad at this point because i already sent my ID and all the required documents to him ever since i paid him about 5 months ago. I told him i won't be needing his service again as i was very dissapointed and didn't think he was serious to followup my process. He replied me with and "ok " and that was it. I applied for the form next day by myself and after 1 day, i got my case receipt number and after about 3 weeks my case was approved and i got my work permit. My family told me to request a refund for my payment made to the lawyer since he didn't do anything for me so i did text him very politely requesting a refund but he never replied me back ever. I lost my money and all my time dealing with this law firm. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM FOR YOUR OWN PEACE OF MIND.
