Jonathan and Agency 2.0 are a complete…

Jonathan and Agency 2.0 are a complete scam. He claims to be a Kickstarter/Indiegogo “partner” and says he’s launched millions of dollars in successful campaigns — but this is a complete lie. The campaigns he references aren’t even his. Do your research. We paid him thousands of dollars and what we got in return was a joke. The landing page his team built was so bad it looked like it was done by a child. The graphics were awful, our professional photos and videos weren’t even used, and nothing about it matched our brand, our product, or the Kickstarter campaign we were running.
We were forced to completely rebuild the page ourselves because neither Jonathan nor his team had the technical or graphical skill to do it. When we presented him with a corrected, professional version, he tried to charge us another $2,000 just to “reprogram” it — after already hosting an unapproved and useless page on his own site at comingsoon.co, which is nothing more than a joke hosting site. I’ve attached pictures of what he and his team produced and where they hosted it so others can see how bad and unprofessional it truly was.
When we pushed back, Jonathan became defensive, called us liars, abruptly canceled our contract, and then ghosted us — literally stealing our money. His “agency” is basically just him and a few outsourced contractors hiding behind fake credentials and a rundown Google Maps location in Austin.
We have filed complaints with Kickstarter and Indiegogo about his deceptive practices. Don’t fall for his lies, don’t believe the fake “partner” claims, and don’t waste your money like we did. Agency 2.0 and Jonathan are not a real agency — they are smoke and mirrors. Save yourself thousands of dollars and avoid this scam.

Run away!!!!!!

Their bad grammar in both DM reachouts and intrusive social media comments are enough to show that this company is both unprofessional and desperate

Hi Bob, we don't do DM reachouts or social media comments. I think you have the wrong company here. What company and product do you represent so we can look into what you may be referring to?

Unfortunately, like the others above, any troll or competitor can write fake negative reviews on trust pilot without merit and equally, any company can create positive fake good reviews deeming this Trust Pilot non-credible. However, with a paid subscription, there are services to control both.

Agency 2.0/Coming soon Enterprises is a scam Agency. Avoid at all cost.

Original post - 03/27/2023
I was initially drawn in by Agency 2.0/Coming Soon Enterprises's persuasive claims on its website and CEO Jonathan Chaupin’s polished, reassuring approach. Unfortunately, what followed was a bait-and-switch experience. Once the project began, additional fees were introduced, nearly tripling the original cost.

It’s important to highlight that the company has not managed a successful million-dollar campaign since 2017. Despite their promises, the current leadership lacks the expertise necessary for effective crowdfunding. Jonathan Chaupin’s reputation in the industry is concerning, as he appears to target new founders unfamiliar with the crowdfunding process.

Agency 2.0/Coming Soon Enterprises' business model relies heavily on upfront payments, demanding substantial funds and a share of future earnings without offering any guarantees of success. Their campaigns, on average, raise only about $35,000 on Kickstarter, while upfront costs can exceed $50,000. This imbalance often results in clients spending more than they earn in pledges. A closer investigation of their portfolio reveals a success rate below 10%.

When clients attempt to exit these contracts, the company responds with intimidation and legal threats.

Our response to your reply below - 12/1/2024:

It is both insensitive and irresponsible to dismiss this matter as a personal disagreement when the facts clearly demonstrate otherwise.

You misled us into using your media production services, resulting in a $30,000 expense for photos and videos. This was done with full knowledge that such an extensive volume of material would have minimal impact on the campaign, as a successful campaign typically requires only 1-5 photos, videos, and GIFs.

Furthermore, you initially assured us that $10,000 would suffice for advertising. However, as the campaign progressed, you repeatedly requested additional funds, inflating the total advertising cost to $25,000. Post-launch advertising costs were entirely excluded from our contract and discussions until one week before launch, at which point you suddenly demanded $60,000 for post-launch ads.

Might we also add your Agency fee which ranges between $15,000 - $50,000 whih you also demand in advance of capaign launch. This is seperate from the 30% of campaign earnings you request whether the campaign succeeds or not. To illustrate, assuming a campaign spends $150,000 in upfront costs and only generates $35,000 in pledges, you would still receive 30% of the $35,000 without sympathy to the $150,000 you already fleeced from the campaign creator. This is unfair.

When we terminated your services due to extortion, bait-and-switch practices and bad faith, you resorted to legal action. You pursued this aggressively for several months, forcing us to secure legal representation and initiate our own case to counter your coercive tactics.

While you claim not to retaliate, the facts suggest otherwise. Your business practices have been deceptive, manipulative, and unethical. Additionally, your bold claims of raising millions of dollars are contradicted by publicly available information.

We hope this serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and integrity in business dealings. Despite our experience, we wish you well in your future endeavors.

Agency 2.0 has been in business for over 14 years and raised hundreds of startups over $150,000,000 in product sales consistently. We're listed on both Kickstarter and Indiegogo as Experts and were awarded one of the fastest growing companies in the Inc 5000 list.

The above is unfortunately a personal attack and Agency 2.0 does not reciprocate.

However we are proud of our work and company, and do list our real names, address, and contact information.

Our team raised over $2m for startups in the last 2 quarters and we're excited for future projects coming forward. Follow us at www.agency20.com or reach out to us anytime at hello@agency20.com for any questions.
