I had to replace my Google Nest system as it had reached end of life (10 years) and Google have discontinued the Nest. So I bought the Which? Best Buy. Despite being 10 years newer than the Nest it feels in terms of technology at least 10 years behind. The system is not automatically smart unless you buy an extra add, the model numbering system is crazy confusing and the functionality is limited. On the chat with the customer support and then technical support (who were very helpful and provided great customer service) it transpired that AICO doesn't care about homeowners, its target customer is entirely social landlords. Unfortunately now I have installed I cannot return the items so I write this review with the hope to inform other homeowners to look for alternatives.
Linked, battery smoke alarm failed and whilst Aico confirmed it was within the warranty period (3 year old alarm, installed less than 2 years), 6 weeks on, multiple emails asking for the same information, requests for ‘video of the issue’ which would involve running between alarms in 3 seconds and/or setting my home on fire, along with no responses whatsoever I’ve given up. Looking to replace the set up with another provider who actually considers that their alarms have been installed for safety reasons and responds appropriately and in a timely manner.

The product range is excellent, with something for every home - new, old, or renovation.
While the steps to expand an existing interlinked system appear complicated, a little time sat over them with a coffee, gives ample information to get started.
I had a few questions before installation and after ( regarding insertion of a controller into the system ) and the customer help is just excellent.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

worst fire alarm design possible.
yeah nice make it sound like a siren when the battery is low. yeah put a clip thats borderline impossible to delatch to replace the battery. yeah make the sliding slots so crap it can get stuck partially on the mount needing to be wacked off.
do you guys not do any design refinement? garbage

My Aico heat alarm started beeping. I had to identify the device
through Google Lens because the device was there when I, as the first owner, moved in. I did not have a manual. To stop the beeping I followed internet instructions and removed the alarm from its base AFTER SWITCHING OFF MAINS SUPPLY. The next day I called Aico.
Kelly was the person I spoke to. She could not have been more helpful. Why the battery had started to beep after just 4 years was investigated.
This was linked to a central heating boiler a few weeks prior springing a leak, that tripped more than half the electrics in my apartment and "upset" the alarm (upset = deactivated trickle charging). With a result the battery started to run out of power and warned me about this by beeping.
Following Kelly's instructions, I put the alarm into a "12 hour silent mode" and this gave the battery time to reset and recharge itself.
(The next day) The battery, the alarm and me are now happy.
Many thanks, Kelly, for your 5***** customer service.

I'd purchased cheap Fireangel interconnected alarms (wired). After a month they began beeping and chirping sending my dog mad. Fireangel sent out a couple of replacements but the nuisance chirps continued. In the end after 2 months I returned the alarms and separate bases for a full refund and bought AICO Ei3024 alarms. They are brilliant. No issues whatsoever, all 5 working interconnected by hard wiring with the easy wiring bases included. You get what you pay for it seems.

I called for help about a neighbour’s smoke alarm that had started sounding continuously with no smoke. I got straight through to a very polite person, no select “1” for…….etc. Having explained the problem, she proceeded to explain why this was happening and how to fix it by blowing out contamination (probably an insect) with an air line. The fix worked and the neighbour was happy. I was struck by the professionalism of the support and the ease with which it was reached. Well done 👍

I had an annoying smoke/heat detector alarm that kept on beeping. Thought it was as simple as a battery change, but oh no sadly not. So I called the manufacturer and thank goodness I did. My current inherited system was well out of date. The extremely knowledgeable gentleman kindly walked me through the whole process over the phone. A huge thank you to Damien!

Replacing and upgrading some of my Aico smoke and heat alarms. Great service from Immy talking me through how to house code and interlink them all. Great service from Aico and Immy in particular as she was very patient and helpful. - thanks Immy.

Very poorly designed mains smoke alarm - when backup battery is low it will beep very loudly once a minute, and the removal method to replace the battery is very poorly described on the unit, with no obvious model name to look up how to do it. Beyond that, actually getting the unit removed is very hard to do standing on a ladder. Avoid!

Technical support is useless if you get a problem.
They essentially give you a hard time and drag out the process so that you just give up trying to claim on the warranty.

I have had AICO alarms for a few years now and the experience has been less than satisfactory, false positive in the middle of the night are frequent, the alarm just goes off for 2 or so seconds and then stops!?
Recently a brand new one started chirping every minute, I managed to get my Factor to replace it after a bit of perseverance, they wanted me to contact AICO direct for a "case number", whilst chatting with a waiting party at the place we got chatting and came to the conclusion that 1) a case number is not required as the unit was like new, just needs replaced by Factor & 2) the quality of these units are frankly rubbish!

Having had a heat/smoke detection system for 8 years, I was doing the annual 9v battery replacement.
Having changed all the battries and tested each unit, I found tgatvtgec2 smoke alarms were talking to each other but not the heat detector. Similarly , the heat detector was working but NOT talking to the smoke alarms.
I called Aico and talked to Damien, who had the patience of Job and stayed with me until it was all working. This involved a number of calls over a 2 day period.
Brilliant service. Would highly recommend.
Well done

3000 series detectors are simple to install, well made and there is good tech support via email and phone. First time using the RF Modules to extend a network and was a doddle

Do not buy the E1000G gateway product.
Requires an electrician to install it and an annual subscription. Neither of which are mentioned on the box or by the Aico enquiry des!

I’ve installed many Aico alarms and I’d definitely call them the market leading alarms. If you value your family’s safety, then install Aico.
