Great building but didn't live up to expectations
Pros:
+ Great salary
+ Beautiful building overlooking the Olympic park (probably the best bit)
+ Employees generally competent
+ Very diverse
Cons:
- A bit overly formal sometimes
- Some people are a bit snobbish
- Chaotic and unstructured support for junior staff. Most, and arguably all junior staff I spoke to said there was very little training available and the people they worked with had little interest in their professional development or how to support with. I also got this feedback even from staff with 20+ years' experience who described it as a 'sweatshop' and 'the worst place they worked'. For me too it was the worst place I worked to be honest, after having had about 10 different jobs across different industries. Although the building is nice and the prestige is high, I didn't feel it was a good place to progress my career or find my rhythm.
General:
Workload can be okay, depending on the team. Some get way too much and some are very relaxed. My workload itself was okay but the expectations unrealistic, and my boss/other team members did not actually have the expertise to fully understand the project or to supervise me.
