Airfrance

I do about 40 airplane trips on year with other companies. I travel first time with airfrance and i want to confirm that is the worst company ever. They have experience how to stole you. I will not use it again.

Cannot get boarding pass online

Never again flying with this carrier, such a disappointing experience. After checking in on an Intra-Schengen and Intra-EU flight online, I see the following message:

"Sorry, we can't create your boarding pass right now. Please bring your check-in confirmation to the check-in desk at the airport to collect your boarding pass."

This means I will be forced to arrive to the airport earlier. This is terribly inconvenient. I would appreciate if they clearly stated it in large font before payment were made (not hidden in the depths of T&Cs) that the online boarding pass may not be available, then I would just book with their competitors.

They changed the flight day with months in advance and kept selling the original flight at a higher price!!

I bought a flight from Spain to Brazil in April, with departure in December 2025. A few weeks after the purchase, I received a notification that my flight had “changed“: these MFs moved it to the next day, making me lose one day of my hard-earned vacations. The cherry on top? They kept selling that same flight at a higher price!!! That’s overbooking and it’s ilegal!!! I’ve sent several claims, that they closed without answering and contacted the customer care via whatsapp – the service is outrageously bad!! I’ve requested a full refund and compensation. Found countless of similar cases online. I’m never flying AF again.

AF Agent made a mistake and no one deals with it

Right now, the call center tells me to email the back office and the back office tells me to call the call center. They are literally sending me in circles and I’ve given them more than $2000.

On Dec 27th, 2022, I called Air France to change my sister Clara's reservation. She is a minor, and I always made that clear. The thread started on Tuesday, Dec 27th, and is ongoing.

My sister and I were planning on traveling together from London to Paris, then from Paris to Vancouver (Canada). I changed her ticket, and now she will go from London to Paris with me (NOT unaccompanied), and then she will go from Paris to São Paulo by herself (unaccompanied). In Paris, we will both be in the airport’s international zone, and I will take her to her boarding gate and get her inside her plane. After that, I will carry on to my plane. She will be unaccompanied SOLELY inside the plane from Paris to São Paulo.

Now, I need someone to separate both flight reservations into two booking references. The first will be the flight from London to Paris, in which she will be accompanied by me. The second one will be the unaccompanied travel from Paris to São Paulo. If these tickets are separated she will not have the layover time and she will be able to have the unaccompanied minor service. >>>This is happening because the agent made a mistake by booking a ticket for a minor with a 1 hour layover, which goes against Air France’s policies. This is not my responsibility.<<<

Events:
- First, the Air France agent told me they could not help me and made me call Delta Airlines. I called Delta, waited for 1:20 hours, and was refused support. They said I had to call Air France.

- After 5 hours of calls, I spoke to the agent who changed my sister's reservation. This agent made two mistakes. One was that she picked a flight in which my sister will have a 1-hour wait in the CDG airport while changing planes. Several agents have told me that the wait time became a problem because the Air France system shows that she will be unaccompanied throughout the whole journey, which is not true. She won’t be unaccompanied during her first flight and wait time in the airport, as I will be there with her, and I will get her on the second plane. The fact that the system shows she will be unaccompanied is a problem because Air France has a minimum airport wait rule of 2 hours for unaccompanied minors (or 4 hours, I’m not sure now, because 2 agentes said different information about this). The agent who made the changes hung up on me after I asked about the unaccompanied minor service. Therefore, I was left unsure if everything was settled and confirmed. The agent’s second mistake was that she did not tell me that in the future other agents would start charging me for unaccompanied minor service.

- I called Air France again, and another agent picked up. He was very helpful and told me about the other agent's mistake with the wait time. He said he could not fix it and that I should expect a phone call from the first agent, as he said she was the only one who could fix it. 2 days went by, and I didn't receive this call back.

- I decided to call Air France again. Another agent picked up and said they could change the connection to fix the wait hours problem, but he also said I would have to pay 235 euros for the unaccompanied minor service. This is a surprise fee, as the first agent who managed to change the flight did not tell me I would have to pay this fee afterward. Besides, Air France wants me to pay the fee for both flights (London to Paris and Paris to São Paulo). This does not make sense, as I have always told Air France I will accompany my sister for the first flight. Another point is that the Air France website states that the unaccompanied minor service fee for international flights is 80 euros for direct flights and 100 euros for flights with changes. The right thing would be for the agent to alert me of the 80 euros fee (because it is a direct flight from Paris to São Paulo) before I made the change, which she didn’t. Ended up with another agent charging me an absurd amount by surprise.

The flight is 11 days from now, and I need this to be solved urgently. I also expect mercy and an apology for the mistakes made by the agent who changed the flights.

Incompetent. Waiting for more than 3 days for my luggage with no offer of compensation

I booked a flight from Hamburg to Montpellier with a layover in Paris.
The first flight to Paris was delayed by 30 min which reduced the layover time from 1.5 hours to only 1 hour.
Apparently this was not enough time for the airport crew to put our luggage on the connecting flight.
They promised us the luggage would arrive with the first flight the next morning. This was not true.
It was sent with the last flight the next day, then it was sitting at the airport for another day before they contacted us to let us know they will now use local postal services to send our luggage. This will take another day to complete, minimum.
So in total, a delay of 30 min left me without my suitcase for 3 days (minimum - I still don't have my suitcase yet. I am hoping to receive it tomorrow as they promised, still not sure, this will actually happen).
For a planned vacation of 1 week this completely messed up my vacation. Spending one day shopping for necessities. No clear guidance how I can be compensated for my expenses. False promises every time I call the hotline.
This is so unacceptable. I will never travel with them again.

Terrible and COVID risk

Terrible and COVID risk
Terrible - be careful - they pretend to protect you against COVID-19 — no cabin / inflight service to make sure you wear the mask all the time but at their main hub in Paris (CDG) they put us on a bus after landing to access the terminal. The bus was used at is maximum with people squeezed in — total Covid-19 risk!!
