Never book with this company

Never book with this company. I had to cancel the flight, and they pretty much robbed me. I feel violated. They kept all the money. If you try to reschedule, it will cost more than buying a brand-new ticket. They don't refund seat selection or extra baggage. WHY?! It makes no sense. You don't even travel, and they keep it. It is straightforward theft.
Please, DON'T EVER BUY TICKETS WITH THIS COMPANY. I will never buy a ticket with them again. Go on foot, but don't make the mistake of using this company.

Worst customer servive I ever…

Worst customer servive I ever encountered. It's not that they don't help, they don't even try. I asked to be transferred to a manager she repeated 10 time like a robot, that that's the policy and that no manager will answer to her call and no one will help me. Very disappointed 😞.

Did not provide service, did not issue refund

Paid for reserved seats so wife and I could sit together, seat assignment was changed at last minute so we did not get what we paid for. Air Transat took months to respond to complaint and now essentially refusing to issue a refund. This is theft.

Don't pay extra for priority package not worth it

Paid £500for priority for myself and daughter in law. Instead of seats we paid for we were seated next to the toilets. The smell was obnoxious and one had to be closed as it was leaking. Time of departure was changed giving less than 6 hours notice so we lost half a day of our holiday. Of course that meant no compensation was paid for late flight.

AirTransat's Appalling Customer Service - 81 Days and Still Waiting

I had an extremely disappointing experience with AirTransat on my flight from Rome to Toronto. Despite paying extra for seats with more legroom, our seats were changed without notification. Attempts to resolve the issue with customer service were futile, both before and during the flight.

To add insult to injury, I filed a complaint on July 10th and was told it would take a minimum of 60 business days to receive a response. It's been 81 days, and I'm still waiting.

In an era where most companies prioritize customer satisfaction, AirTransat's lack of communication and slow response times are unacceptable. Their poor customer service has left me frustrated and disappointed.

I strongly caution other travelers to consider the potential drawbacks before booking with AirTransat. While they may offer competitive prices, the stress and hassle caused by their subpar customer service simply aren't worth it.

Until AirTransat makes significant improvements to their customer service practices, I cannot recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the headache and choose an airline that values its customers.

Not good.

Onboard, comfortable seat (extra leg room row), limited entertainment choice.
Awful quality food, service not much better.
Montreal airport staff unbelievably rude.
Would only use again if I could get a club class seat at a very good price.

Cabincrew was awful

Cabincrew was awful. Don’t communicate properly. Food is horribele. It is really low budget and still not worth your money. They really don’t know what service is and means. I never go with this company ever again. And I use to be a really good costomer the years before.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE! They changed the dates of my flight, and would not work with me to find an alternative that works. They are costing me two days of my vacation, and want to charge more to fix their mistake. AVOID AT ALL COST. "Customer Service" rep hung up on me when I begged for help. I have spent hours trying to fix this. I would honestly like to just cancel everything at this point as they have ruined my trip.

I arrived in Manchester to get my flight to Toronto
When I was called to weigh in my bags, which I find this part of the experience for me can be very stressful especially when traveling alone, I was greeted with a very warm smile from a young man of the name of David. he was very friendly polite & very helpful,
David made this the beginning of what I felt was going to be my first trip alone very nerve racking to me feeling at ease.
on boarding my flight, David was again there greeting passengers & remembered me from the gate when checking in, remembering our conversation on me being so nervous flying alone to see my family & the great lengths I took to get to the airport.
I know the flight meals are not up to much, extra alcohol drinks, blankets & ear phones you have to pay for there can be a lot of negative Experiences about air Transat but my experience was that the staff were amazing. Especially David & Frankie
they have the most amazing two people with great personalities that made my trip a breeze

Terrible-Air Transat. PorterAirlines is as bad. 5 hr flight time and we saw crew for 40mins, hiding in galleys.


HONEST- this is the worst so called “airline” I have ever flown with. Snarly, surly and plain rude crew in the cabin.
I paid to choose my seat both outbound and inbound. Both times I was moved . I asked for a refund. No reply -surprise surprise.
The food was inedible, rubber chicken and wooden cutlery, served with either a small coffee, small water or small wine. Very little presence in the cabin at all!! More water and juice/drinks for those mad enough to drink the plonk on offer. The seats are narrow. The entertainment is ancient and very poor sound. Gee Only $10.99 for a cheap in-ear set of headphones. NO PILLOWS /NO BLANKETS. NO WAY .EVER AGAIN.
HELPFUL- Wise up, loads of empty seats both ways -no one is returning to fly with you. OBVS
CONSTRUCTIVE- READ ALL ABOVE COMMENTS .
This company needs to watch its share price.

Booking made easier

I needed to book a flight from Glasgow to Toronto to spend Christmas with my sister and family. I prefer the personal touch than online. When I phoned Glasgow I was very fortunate to be greeted by Mark Carson. He could not have been more helpful. It was like talking to a friend and he said if I had any worries with my booking I could get in touch with him. In this digital age it is so nice to have conversations. Keep up the good work Mark.

Scammers

Scammers! Air transat is a complete joke and scamming everyone out of their money. They’ve changed their measurements for a standard carry on size which is smaller than every other airline. The sizer they make you try to shove your bags in at checkin, doesn’t fit any carry ons. We watched over 100 people try to fit their standard carry on bags into this thing. It’s quite embarrassing. They’ll then make you pay an additional 150 euros to check your bag. The worst part is they seem to let some people through with larger bags. I wish I could attach a photo of the very large roller bag I’m currently standing behind while boarding my flight. None of it makes sense and it’s infuriating. They milk every penny out of you and ruin your vacation before it even starts. It seems they’ve also changed the size of space underneath the seats, in the new aircraft’s because they don’t fit a normal size backpack. Which makes the flight very uncomfortable and unbearable. Will not be flying with them again and would recommend staying away if you don’t want to be robbed.

good value overall but there can be upsetting hitches

I know it's good price, but I am a bit pissed on two things. 1) I bought a ticket from Venice to Edmonton via Toronto at Euro680, then the price drops further to Euro480-550 for the same period return ticket. Next time I guess I won't buy early 2) Two weeks before the outbound flight they sent an email informing the first of the two connecting flight advanced half a day. This would cause me to book a hotel for an extra night plus commuting into the city Toronto. I chose that specific overnight flight in the first price to save money on lodging. But when I got the email, I was busy preparing for my trip and work I couldn't look into this, plus I thought this is to do with the return flight only I could sort it out later. So over a week before my inbound flight I chatted with their agent on their Facebook messenger. They said because I bought Eco Budget, so it cannot be changed. But I said, the inconvenience is caused by your company. I am forced to change - I am asking to change to a next day flight so I don't have to stay a night in Toronto. Hotel plus commuting to downtown costs a minimum of CAD100 just in a dormitory! But they said since I took the outbound, nothing they can do. And the case cannot be escalated either. Ask me to read the T&C or to call them to talk to their supervisor. I don't want to waste any more time and breadth on this. So I'm disheartened about such changes and way of handling the matter. The F&B on the flight and the flight attendants are okay. No complaint there.

The worst experience I have ever had travelling in my entire life.

I arrived to my check in 1 hour and 30 mins prior to boarding and they told me I could not board because I was late. The check in lady told me that it says on my boarding pass that I must be there 3 hours prior, we went over it together and nowhere on my pass did it say such a thing. As well as this, when I called to re-book, they refused to put me on another flight without paying full price once again. Therefore, from everywhere to the customer service all the way to the actual boarding of the flight, it seems that this company does not care for its customers. For a company that is well worth hundreds of millions of dollars, refunding 3 plane tickets is apparently where they draw the line. Simply put, after this experience I will never use this airline again and I will tell all of my friends, family and loved ones to stay away from these scam artists.

Had booked a flight with a family of 10…

Had booked a flight with a family of 10 to fly from YUL to LHR, arrived to airport 1.50hrs before flight, being told that I had to use the self check-in, even after the telling the agent that online check-in didn't work, therefore self check-in won't work either. But my pleas fell on deaf ears. After struggling for 30 minutes they allowed me to stand in line for a desk agent, by then the clock was ticking and the supervisor was adamant to ensure that I don't make the flight with zero consideration for the small children. After managing to check-in the luggage and passing through security and running with the children to get to the gate, the supervisor was there again to ensure that we're not allowed to board because it was already within 10 minutes of departure although doors were still open, with no offer to assist us further. The disgusting behaviour and zero show of compassion to a family with small kids was extremely derogatory.

Worse customer service

Air Transat has the worse customer service. They were rude and clearly did not care about our concerns. I’m posting to all of my social media outlets about them. This money hungry company does not care about customers- be aware! Look into other options first.
