Strong service
Blazingly fast especially with WireGuard that sustains more than 800 Mbps steadily. OpenVPN is supported as well, it's essential in restrictive network for example some hotels, when they block Wireguard.
OpenVPN is slower than Wireguard but good speed too, more or less 500 Mbps on most servers. I like also that AirVPN doesn't ask for e-mail address, it's optional, and that some cryptos are accepted straight, with no intermediary in the middle. Software is open source, fast, efficient and offering a delicious retro look & feel. You have also the option to enable filters blocking trackers and adware. They can come handy and they are based on public effective block lists. Price is very competitive especially if you purchase 6 months or more.
I am... VERY VERY HAPPY customer after 6 months and I am renewing for one more year today. I assign deserved 5 stars without hesitation.
Had issues with payment
Had issues with payment. Paid up already and my card was already charged the amount. My order was marked as pending for the last few hours. Sent in an email to enquire but there was no reply.
I have decided to "cancel" my payment and hopefully receive my refund from this company. How can I trust a company if they cant even handle payments and accounts activation? They are basically unresponsive and it feels like I am getting scammed. Now I even doubt that I would be able to receive back the money spent.
The Linux client of Airvpn is very…
The Linux client of Airvpn is very good. But the speed of airvpn has fallen behind compared to its competitors. It is difficult to get a speed of more than 200Mbps on airvpn, and it takes a long time to connect to the server.
Good under every aspect
Good under every aspect. Killer features for me are fast torrent p2p on all servers, flexible port forwarding system, high performance in Japan and stable connections - I can remain connected for days with no breaks. Strongly recommended.
Quick and steady
My quick review of AirVPN after a month or so.
PROS:
stable connections
high speed servers
port forwarding (great for p2p and web servers)
always up
many connection tricks and modes to bypass blocks
great community
excellent Suite software documentation
CONS:
web site aesthetically outdated and looking ugly
not many servers in Asia, only Japan and Singapore
poorly and badly written Eddie software documentation (not a big deal if you run their other software Suite)
Eddie software crashes sometimes after hours of usage in Linux (irrelevant if you run their other software suite)
The good things broadly overweight the Cons. 5 stars anyway.
Two years never a problem
Starting my 3rd year with AirVPN. Never had a problem. 100% uptime and fast p2p. Unlike other VPN you can torrent on all servers. Been using AirVPN almost 24/7 mainly for p2p purposes. Reliable "Network Lock" prevents all leaks, tested. Very good price. Overall, excellent experience.
Customer service makes the difference
Excellent speed from Italy (350-370 Mbps every day including weekends out of my 1 Gbps line in TIM) and steady connections. New 10 Gbps servers recently. I guess they have no congestion, never.
Good / very good software for Linux and Android, easy to install and use. And yet what it strikes me most is the customer support. I had a problem last year I could not resolve, it made me become mad and it came out it was a problem on my side on Linux Ubuntu. Customer support replied in a few hours and was able to find the problem in MY system a couple of hours later, impressive. Other VPN customer support did not manage to find the problem. I am pleased they support Linux a lot.
If the quality remains high as it is now, AirVPN will remain my first choice.
Unexpectedly pleasant surprise
Last year I was skeptical about AirVPN when a friend of mine recommended it, and I expected a mediocre service, because it is not well known, so I got one of their free access trials. After less than 2 days I fell in love with it and bought a longer plan. Never regretted it. Rock solid, steady and very fast connection, almost saturate my 300 Mbps fiber at all times, features rich software that is FOSS too. Perfect in my Linux, Android and Win 10 systems. Server status page is the coolest I've ever seen in any similar service. 5 stars!
Enough to say from day one I have been…
Enough to say from day one I have been mightily impressed with AirVPN the service, the staff, and the forum, and a special mention for the customer service, that's fantastic. Software is open source. Very fast speed above 400 Mbps - not always but that's understandable. Good range of servers in Europe and North America. Need growth in Asia.
Fast servers, competent people!
After almost three weeks of tests, the fastest VPN servers I found so far: constant 500+ Mbit/s from my fiber line.
Competent customer service helped me with a complex setup of my FreeBSD workstation (but they do not release software for this system) and made me save a lot of time. Besides: low price, no logs policy, decent API and more importantly a nifty remote port forwarding support.
They release good open source software, for Linux too, but not for FreeBSD.
The app for Android is good. However, in Linux and Mac, strangely AirVPN offers two software lines, "Hummingbird Suite" and "Eddie". The first is fine and fast, while the second does its job, but is sluggish and affected by a questionable software design. So... if you have Linux or Mac and you try this VPN, make sure you run their "Suite" software and not their "Eddie".
They also develop OpenVPN and their fork made OpenVPN 3 so much better (nice surprise).
A remarkably good VPN service, and definitely the best I found for speed so far.
The worst type of customer service attitude
I signed up for Air VPN in preference to one of the more well marketed providers as i liked the ethos and offering. Sadly this has been an appalling experience from beginning to end and I would strongly advise anyone to think twice about trusting these people. The customer service has been scandalous. Here are the facts, judge for yourself.
(1) Sign up process was painless
(2) Installation was pretty straightforward although not as guided as some but I expected that having read up on the offering
(3) The stable version you instal is 2.18. Unfortunately this did not work as intended as the VPN constantly searched for IPv4 and continually disconnected
(4) I asked for advice from Support and they replied reasonably quickly and told me to download and instal the beta version 2.19
(5) Sadly 2.19 did not play well with my Mac OSx Catalina system. The connection was unstable on ipv6 this time and again continually disconnected. What's more it wrote this to my DNS file "fde617a:7d20:149::1" plus another DNS address. Also it opened 2 VPN server connections at once in Holland and Germany. Also when the VPN was not running none of my apps would open. when the software was running I had no internet connection at all
(6) A problem right? So I uploaded the log file to the "support" team and waited for their advice to fix it
(7) What happened next was they made no attempt to fix the issue at al. They sent one email telling me I had a DNS problem and then cancelled my account. True they issued the refund immediately but think about it, their response to a new customer who was experiencing difficulty with their software was not to help, not to work the problem but to de-list the customer, put up the defensive wall and leave me with a system with no internet
(7) In desperation I posted the problem on the Air VPN forums. One kind soul tried to help me get my connection back but then what did Air VPN customer "support" do - they banned me from the site. The reason "Spam lies and defamation" `I will leave i to the Trustpilot community to assess whether what I have set out above meets any of those descriptions
Possibly my error (apart from signing up) was in frustration to say the software had trashed my Mac. That was an exaggeration borne of frustration, what it had done was wrote stuff to my DNS settings as shown above which after a lot of googling on my phone I realised I needed to just delete and the system came back
I find their whole attitude incomprehensible. They had the log files, surely they could diagose the issue. No just ban the customer. They obviously knew the software had created a DNS problem, I told them I had no internet connection so what do they do - send me a website link. It took me 30 mins googling to suss out the issue and solution, these super tech savvy support team obviously couldn't be bothered.
I understand if you don't want novice customers using the software that is technically beyond them so don't market it that way and if their reponse to customers experiencing problems with the software is not to help but simply ban them, then potential customers can draw their own conclusions as to how valued their custom is and how welcoming AVPN is .
I'm sure if you are tech savvy this is decent software but I would counsel average customers to know what they are getting into and the attitude they will face if things don't run smoothly
Easy to use and have a lot of servers, but not steady!
Easy to use and have a lot of servers. It's a pity that the connection is not steady!
Very low quality
Very low quality, serious security issues and even worse customer service. If you like your privacy and your data security, do not touch. There are better VPN providers out there.
change of terms and conditions
AIR VPN is a good service but a little over priced. I have been with them years but the excellent referral system at least helped with the costs.
But beware as of the 08/04 they have tor up the referral system and now you only get it for the first payment instead of for referral.
This was not advertised to any customers, I guess now they are making money of our referrals they just want to be greedy and earn extra.
I won't be doing any more referral or renewals once current subs run out.
Rating is excellent for the service but poor for customer treatment.

Excellent!
Fast, reliable, good value, lots of server locations to choose from. Easy to use with their Eddie software, which I use on Windows and Android. Or OpenVPN on my iPad (iOS). Been with them for about 3 years and can’t fault the service.
I have used airvpn for a couple years…
I have used airvpn for a couple years now and won't use another. Excellent service for the price.
Good speeds and a good price
Good speeds and a good price. Wish there were a few more server locations though because they have a bit less servers than most VPN providers. But overall, very professional service and jam-packed full of features.
I went thru 5 vpn providers before I found AirVPN.....
I went thru 5 vpn providers before I found AirVPN. Couldn't ask for anything better. Top of the line if you ask me. I wouldn't use any other service.
No shiny app but a top of the line VPN provider!
So yes, it is not as polished as the VPN providers but it certainly doesn’t finish in the news for doing things it said it would not. Too many top rated VPN providers are a joke and are just at the top thanks to the affiliate programs.
Air VPN is run by activists who have a clear mission and believe in what they do. Just read the first page. It is a serious VPN run by serious people. You go there when you are serious about privacy.
I’ve been with them since 2016 and have never had speed issues of any kind. They might not be the biggest with the most servers but they are the one I trust with my data.
