Outstanding service, from the first day we spoke.

Great site - great selection of images. I was looking for very specific building images which was unable to locate on any other photo library but Alamy had everything I needed.

I found Alamy to be very impressive in two respects. First, the sheer range of stock photography available. Second, the extreme efficiency with which Alamy staffers answered email correspondence. Alamy's services are not cheap (if cheapness is your sole aim you had better try elsewhere), but in my view they are worth the money involved.

My experience in Alamy has been very good.

For: They are the only one that I know offer the possibility of buying pictures for personal use at a reasonable price.

Against: Omit VAT taxes to whoever is exempt from paying it.

I would choose this company again hands-down. So much nicer dealing with them than the big guys - much more personal service, far better prices, so much more helpful. Their inventory of photos isn't as large, but I'll go to them first going forward whenever possible. They even have a service where they'll look for images for you!

Great source for quality, hard to find vintage photo's of the many celebrities and dignitaries that traveled aboard the historic R.M.S. Queen Mary. Love that Alamy offers pricing based upon what you need the photo for. I also called with a question and spoke to really nice man that explained the differences to me prior to purchasing the photo.

I will definitely use the service again while doing research.

I recently purchased photos from Alamy and yesterday I got a call from Tim, one of their customer service representatives. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he was contacting me to find out how their service had been and if I had any feedback, and since I was a new customer they gave me a discount. I was floored that they would take the time to call and see how one of their customers (probably out of millions) found their experience. I thought their selection was fantastic, but now I will definitely go there first because of how great they were to work with. Tim was wonderful to talk to and the call definitely made my day that much better.

Alamy have a fantastic selection of images available, and their stock is growing all the time. I have been on similar stock image websites and none of them seem to have the range of stock that Alamy has.

The only drawback is that historical images have a modernized look about them, meaning an image taken 25 years ago can look like it was taken yesterday. Personally, I like old images to show some kind of age e.g. a degree of fading. I'm just not a fan of this 'digitized' look. I prefer images to be scanned from the original slide or negative.

Bottom line, I think Alamy has a bright future and I plan on doing repeat business with them.

The Sales Team in India is fantastic. They are always there for you whenever you need them. Even though couple of enquiries didn't go through, they speak to you with the same enthusiasm. Very happy dealing with them.

Their staff were prompt and a great help at securing photos for us. They had to contact the photographer for rights and it was all done within hours.
