Untrustworthy A & L BMW at 3780 William Penn…
I called A & L BMW at 3780 William Penn Highway monroeville, PA 15146 the individual I dealt with was Tom Greenwalt. I asked Mr Greenwalt to tell me as much as he can about a Blue 2013 Lexus 450H with 78k miles. His response was to repeat what was already posted on the website like one owner 78k miles. He was not forthcoming with any other information which gave me an impression of someone trying not to say too much or hide something. Anyway my wife and I acquired financing through A and L BMW On 7/12/2023. We rented a vehicle on 7/13/2023 and booked a hotel in monroeville at the Holiday Inn (drove 4hr 20 min from Effort PA) so we could be at the dealership early Friday morning at 9:15AM On 7/14/2023 as Mr. Greenwald stated he was going on vacation that day.We met with Mr. Greenwalt who took us the see the vehicle. To make a long story short I understand why Mr. Greenwald was not forthcoming with information about the Lexus RX 450H still listed on their site. The bottom of the vehicle has severely rusted. To anyone who will attempt to buy that 2013 for 450H with 78,000 miles or any other used vehicle please know that, the dealership will not inform you of the rust underneath. If you test drive the vehicle it will drive just fine. The interior is OK until you have a mechanical issue and you bring it to be placed on a lift at that point you will be shocked as to how much rust is under there. We wasted $500 in hotel car rental food gas time to drive 4 hours. Beware, you would think at a new car dealership they would be more forthcoming with their used vehicles, not the case not at this dealership. Beware beware beware do your due diligence. What a waste of time and money unbelievable disappointing and untrustworthy interaction. By the way, the dealership replaced the muffler pipes brakes and rotors all around so they were certainly aware of all the rust under the vehicle, but chose not to reveal it. I would’ve been a sucker born, but I dodged that bullet. I lost $500., it could have been 20,000. I hope my posting will help those who choose to go to this dealership And buy that vehicle or any used vehicle I hope this helps. I even have pictures of the rust. (Mark and Marcia)
