Good service
Despite having serious issues with our buyers Helen from Alexander & Co did everything she could for us to finally exchange and complete on the sale of our mother's property.
Also, when property was initially on the market our local office did a good job in finding a buyer for us.
Grace was Great
Grace at the Bicester branch was lovely. She knew what I was looking for, she helped me find another property of interest straight away. She booked me in promptly & was early to both viewings! She was very friendly & easy to ask questions too. She was also quick to inform you of changes that needed to be considered. I would highly recommend!
The end of the tenancy cannot come soon enough
i've been supporting my parents in dealing with this company and their affiliated partners. I know the property industry has a very poor perception and my experience with them has made it very clear why this is. Lack of communication whether that be trying to speak with someone, response to email or just having a statement sent with no reasoning or context.
They deduct monies for "free quotes" to the tune of several hundred pounds and do not respond when asked for clarity.
on top of all this they seem to be ignorant of what information they have or need, make 11th hour demands for documentation and are somewhat economical with the truth.

Landlords and tenants beware!
This review is for the Aylesbury branch. I made an offer for a property for rent the Alexander and Co and the agency refused me on the basis of adverse credit for one of the tenants, despite the fact that the lead tenant had excellent credit and their income was more than 30 times the rent. The agency refused to accept a guarantor or increased deposit (so the company's policy and duty of care to vulnerable tenants is empty words) and didn't even let the landlord know about the offer. They ended up reducing the asking rent by £100 before the property was let to someone else, so the landlord ended up losing £1,200 a year without even knowing.
Very unprofessional communication with the agency, via WhatsApp, with the agent messaging me using emojis.
Landlord experience ABSYSMAL
AYLESBURY Landlord experience: Unfortunately inherited their abysmal services on buying a BTL property and then nothing but problems with sending us the rent money owed paid by the tenant. It took them THREE months to change the bank details. In the mean time, the money was going to the previous owner!! A legal nightmare to say the least! I had to find the money from elsewhere to cover the mortgage. In the mean time, the communication non existent, the staff do not know their terms of Business, you ask a simple question on an email and they still say they will have to go away and find out the answer, and then never get back to you. Then when you go to finally leave them at the end of the tenant's contract, (considering you haven't even signed up to their 'services' in the first place!!), they try telling you that if you do, you have to pay two months FULL RENT paid by the tenant + VAT. It's shocking how this business is operating and this is your forewarning not to use their services as a landlord. Embarrassing.

Poor after sale
In the beginning when they are finding properties for you this estate agents will behave so professional and act promptly however do not be deceived soon as you will have a problem with the property such as mould they will play the blaming game and act indenial. The estate agents will not care the health risk it posses and will brush everything under the carpet. I have raised a complaint since April 2024 and still the issue is not resolved. So when it comes to taking the deposit, essential first steps of getting the property they will behave so nice, then you will see the true service. Don't be fooled by the reviews they gather in the beginning when they find you the property. Think about it how is it someone has so many five stars 🌟 ratings.

I have telephoned this company 4 times. Yes they called me this morning 5 times, one after another as my phone record shows in the space of seconds!! Following this I rang them again and spoke to a very helpful lady who promised to get the person who made the calls me to call me again. That was over five hours ago and still nothing. My enquiry was about a property I was interested about in Buckingham and I guess has now gone hence no call back. Reading previous other reviews why should I not be surprised? Read all the reviews, the warnings are there! What a bunch of amateur cowboys!

Very poor communication and they keep us waiting for the LETTINGS HUB to finish our checks (also Don t ever use them) and in the last few days they were chasing us to provide more information ( but they didn’t even spoke with us all that time before ) very very disappointing

Brackley Sales - DON'T TRUST THE MARKETING
My case is in the process of going through the Property Ombudsman after spending £1.5k on a property which was marketed and sold with no-onward chain, yet after paying ALL of my fees for conveyancing, survey, mortgage and searches, Alexander and Co tell me that I was in a chain. Given we were reliant on the property having no onward chain and having a 7 month pregnant partner with no home, I find it utterly disgraceful to be treated this way when they had suspicions about the vendor from the start! Do not base your purchase decisions and spend money on what they stated have on their marketing!

LANDLORDS BEWARE
Alexander & Co. managed student properties for me for 2 years and did a reasonable job with the tenants. I decided they knew insufficient contract and tenancy law, and their bookkeeping was rather sloppy, so gave them notice I was terminating our contract. They took over £3,000 from my rents as a "termination charge". I took legal action and nine months later, the court ordered they repay it to me, plus interest and costs. READ THEIR CONTRACT TERMS CAREFULLY. Having hired them you cannot fire them without almost an extra year's charges, unless you have terminated the tenancy, (Clause 20). Although tenancy was terminated, they took the charge anyway, (in violation of the contract), because they objected to some previous tenants re-renting directly from me. No other agent has ever taken unauthorised money from my rents or objected to me ending a contract. Hire a trusthworthy agent.
Finally, a competent estate agent.
