BODGED SMP!!!
I am not a person that normally complains. But honestly having SMP treatment from Alex James was the worst decision of my life! I spoke to Alex at length and had a consultation where he stated that he could confidently camouflage my vitiligo with SMP. I had the first treatment which was fine. On the second treatment he left me with patches and blotches all over my head. This has had a huge impact on me, especially my mental health. I have undergone years of laser treatments to have this removed and the laser removal specialist (also part of the team that trained Alex) has said that Alex has gone too deep with the impressions and has used a different ink than the one that was recommended.
The whole purpose of the SMP was to camouflage my vitiligo, however I have been left with smudged ink on my head.
Till date I have had 34 laser removal sessions with Mike Lee Laser (one of Alex’s training mentor team) and have still not achieved full removal.
I spoke with Alex to make a claim so that his insurers can deal with the matter and send me to a specialist to have it removed, however his insurer’s said that he was not covered and I need to deal with him directly. After that point I have made numerous calls, left voice messages with no contact from Alex.
Alex has ruined my life, my appearance, it has had a negative impact on my friendships, relationships, my employment and my mental health. I honestly did not expect him to close the door on me like this.
There should be an option for zero stars as this review doesn’t even deserve one.

To provide appropriate wider context to this siutation, this was a very unique and complex case that took place in 2021 involving an underlying and uncommon skin condition. At the time, there were extensive consultations held prior to commencing, where the limitations and uncertainties of how this type of skin condition would respond to treatment were discussed and acknowledged.
Following the second session, the treatment was reviewed and although the overall progress of the SMP was in line with expectations, it was agreed that a small, isolated area affected by the skin condition had not responded in the same way as the surrounding skin. As a result, a mutual agreement was made to pause treatment in that specific area, as continuing to work on non-pigmented skin carried a risk of the pigment appearing slightly darker than the rest of the scalp.
At that stage, a plan was put in place to rectify the isolated area before completing the SMP, ensuring the affected skin would be avoided going forward. In the interim a full refund was issued as a good will gesture and additional financial support to contribute towards the corrective treatment was provided. The results at the time you left our clinic were in line with what had been discussed and documented.
It’s important to note that the images shared do not reflect the appearance of the documented treatment at the time you left the clinic. As outlined, further third-party interventions were undertaken afterwards without our involvement, and the original treatment plan was not resumed. This has significantly influenced how the outcome has evolved over time.
Following legal correspondence raised 2 years after the initial treatment took place, we were advised to keep all communication in writing, which has been adhered to. During this correspondence, requests were made for a timeline of up-to-date photographs. This was to allow for an accurate comparison of the area before and after any subsequent treatments, so the progression could be properly assessed over time and any appropriate support could be offered, however this information was not provided.
Communication has been intermittent over an extended period of years, which has made it very difficult to review and resolve the matter in a consistent and timely way
As outlined above, this was a complex case with multiple contributing factors over time and is not representative of the results we consistently achieve for our clients.
