Accor Platinum Status is Worthless: Deceptive Hotels and Corrupt Loyalty Integrity

Being a Platinum member with ALL (Accor Live Limitless) has become completely worthless. This is an absolute garbage program that brings far more frustration, stress, and heartbreak than actual benefits. After spending tens of thousands of dollars with this corporate chain, you realize that their top-tier status is treated like a joke by individual properties, and Accor HQ does absolutely nothing but defend their hotels' deceptive practices. There is a systemic, global issue where Accor hotels outright lie about room descriptions, manipulate system inventory, and deny basic elite benefits.
My recent experience at Pullman Tokyo Tamachi perfectly highlights this fraud. They explicitly sold a room described as "1 King Bed" on the official ALL app, only to provide a budget-level "Hollywood Twin" (two cheap single beds pushed together with a painful gap in the middle).

To make matters worse, the property hid its room inventory from the ALL app to block complimentary Platinum upgrades, yet manually processed a second booking via email for the exact same dates. When escalated, Accor’s Guest Service Executive Department completely ignored the fraud, failed to audit the system, and tried to silence me with a pathetic 5,000 reward points gesture.

This is not an isolated incident; it is an established pattern across the entire Accor portfolio. Look at the public grievances for The Royal Surakarta Heritage, or the consistent complaints surrounding Novotel and Mercure properties globally—from Asia to the Mercure in the Azores.

Across all these brands, top-tier members face the exact same frustrating pattern: hotels lying about room configurations, delivering sub-standard room and bathroom facilities that belong in budget motels, and front desks pretending "system limitations" prevent them from honoring Platinum benefits.

Accor corporate has built a culture of stonewalling. Their loyalty program operates with zero transparency and zero integrity. If you are a frequent traveler looking for real premium standards and genuine loyalty recognition, stay away from Accor. I am currently moving my entire travel business to the IHG Platinum Ambassador program, where loyalty is actually treated with prestige and respect. I will be deleting my ALL account permanently. Goodbye Accor, your loyalty program is absolute trash.

They do not really care about their customers...

Been a gold member for two years and there were no problems until....one of their hotels randomly cancelled my reservation. Accor sent an email that they are working on it, how important this is to them and bla bla...but over 3 weeks despite multiple reminders on this case, they are just bluntly ignoring it and not responding. Such a shame!!!!!!!

@Accor if you are really reading this (not just using chatbots to pretend that you care), try to handle case 24074771.

One of the most disappointing hotel…

One of the most disappointing hotel groups the Accor I have ever dealt with.

My experience with Accor and its Ibis brand has left me with the impression that customer satisfaction is no longer a priority. Instead, the focus appears to be on collecting franchise fees and maximizing revenue while the quality of customer service continues to decline.

The most shocking aspect was the pricing. Seeing an Ibis hotel charging €422 per night is simply absurd. Ibis is marketed as an economy hotel brand, yet these prices are comparable to, and sometimes higher than, hotels that offer significantly better rooms, facilities, and service. There is absolutely no justification for charging such rates for what is supposed to be budget accommodation.

What makes the situation even worse is the lack of customer care. When customers have concerns or complaints, they are often left waiting for responses that never arrive. Complaints seem to disappear into a black hole. There is little sense that anyone is genuinely interested in resolving issues or listening to customer feedback.

The customer service departments appear poorly equipped to handle problems effectively. Instead of taking ownership and providing solutions, customers are frequently passed from one department to another without receiving clear answers. It creates the impression that nobody is accountable and nobody truly cares once they have your money.

Accor promotes itself as a hospitality leader, but hospitality begins with respecting customers and valuing their loyalty. From my experience, the company has lost sight of this principle. Charging excessive prices while failing to provide adequate customer support is a combination that inevitably destroys trust.

The entire experience has left me feeling ignored, frustrated, and disappointed. A hotel group of this size should be setting standards for customer care, not demonstrating how disconnected a company can become from the people who keep it in business.

I will not be recommending Accor or its Ibis hotels to friends, family, or colleagues. There are many other hotel groups that offer better value, more reasonable pricing, and customer service that actually responds when problems arise.

Accor needs to remember that without customers there is no business. Based on my experience, it feels as though customers have become an afterthought. Some of the hotels they do not qualify for one star rating Ibis Tour de Bretagne , Ibis Gare de Nantes in fact most ibis brand around France they do not care about customers it’s more about profit than the welfare of the customers

Very Poor Customer Service Engagement with a booking mistake!

I booked on Accors website for a 1 night stay in calais. Immediately after booking I realised the date was wrong so cancelled and immediately rebooked and at a higher price. I am a member and I contacted them straight away with the old and new booking numbers to ask for the first one to be refunded. I have emailed twice and each time they flatly refuse to refund the error booking. The company has not lost out of the booking it is simply on a different date one day earlier.

Special recognition to Nayra for all the support and assistance, consideration throughout the planning. Also, a special recognition to Atanas, who was outstanding throughout the event .

I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Novotel, Chalk Hill Road, London, W6 8DW and the entire team for making the event such a memorable and successful occasion. We felt truly happy, blessed, and grateful for the excellent service provided throughout the surprise birthday celebration last Saturday, 13 June 2026.

Disappointing Customer Service Despite…

Disappointing Customer Service Despite Early Cancellation
I booked a room for one night at The Crown Krakow – Handwritten Collection in mid-May. Unfortunately, my travel plans changed, and I cancelled the reservation within approximately one hour of making the booking.
I later realized that I had selected a non-refundable rate. The stay was still almost two months away when I noticed the charge on my card. Understanding that the booking conditions were technically my responsibility, I immediately contacted the hotel to ask whether any goodwill solution could be offered, such as a partial refund or the possibility of transferring the reservation to another date.
What disappointed me most was not the policy itself, but the lack of communication. My written requests remained unanswered. During two phone calls, I was simply reminded of the booking conditions and informed that the matter had been passed to a manager, yet I never received any follow-up.
I frequently travel to Poland and often choose it as a meeting point with family and friends. This stay was intended to be a special day with my elderly mother. We have lived in different countries for many years and rarely have the opportunity to spend time together. I had specifically chosen a nice room at this hotel to make our meeting memorable.
As a loyal customer with considerable experience staying at Accor properties, I have always had positive experiences in the past. Hotels have often shown flexibility and understanding when unforeseen changes occurred, especially when cancellations were made shortly after booking and well in advance of the arrival date.
For this reason, I am saddened by how this situation was handled. While I fully understand the hotel's right to enforce its booking policy, I believe customer care is demonstrated in exceptional situations through communication, responsiveness, and willingness to consider reasonable solutions.
Unfortunately, in this case, I felt that customer loyalty and goodwill were not valued.

This is a review of ACCOR customer…

This is a review of ACCOR customer service and the experience my girlfriend and I had at one of their hotels, the Mercure in Bana Hills.

I want to be clear: Bana Hills itself is spectacular. Which is exactly why what happened during our stay at the Mercure is so unforgivable.

My girlfriend and I arrived at noon alongside two other couples. Their rooms were ready. Ours was not. After an hour and a half of being stalled with 15-minute promises, denied manager access multiple times, and no upgrade offer, we were finally brought to our room — which was already occupied by another guest. See the photo below.

We were then held in a lobby for another 15 minutes. A manager eventually arrived, offered a room upgrade, and denied our request for a complimentary dinner. During the bag transfer between buildings, a wheel was broken off our luggage. Also documented.

That evening, reception denied that my booking included a complimentary massage — despite a screenshot of my reservation clearly showing it. The following morning, staff refused to give us breakfast because we showed up at 9:35 and they ended at 9:30. Not even the smallest attempt at a nicety. Just a resounding "NO".

We lost over two hours of our time at one of the most unique destinations in Southeast Asia. What should have been a magical trip was derailed by staggering incompetence and a complete absence of hospitality.

I escalated to Accor corporate. After weeks of chasing, wrong names in correspondence, and vague promises, Accor's final position is this: the room upgrade they were obligated to provide after walking us into an occupied room is sufficient compensation for everything — the wasted hours, the privacy breach, the damaged luggage, the denied massage inclusion, all of it. That is their answer.

Now here is what you need to know before booking: the Mercure is the ONLY hotel at Bana Hills. If you want to stay overnight at this breathtaking destination, you have no choice but to stay with them. They know this. And based on how they treated us — and how Accor corporate backed them up — it shows. When a hotel has a captive audience, accountability becomes optional.

Bana Hills deserves far better than the only hotel willing to put its name there.

Book the day trip. Don't stay the night.

They have a best price guarantee on hotel prices. however a 3rd party website was cheaper by over £170. when i complained they started trowing the terms and conditions to wards me. they onlu allow 24hours for you to complain about a price difference and then expect you to provide so many things. on top of that they still refuse you the refund. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU CAN GET BETTER ECONOMICAL PRICES FROM A 3RD PART WEBSITE. Shambles of a company.

Dishonest business practices

I am writing this review to warn other travelers about the dishonest practices of one of ALL Accor's properties and its management. I stayed at Ibis Lyon Part Dieu on April 27, 2026.

I selected and paid for this hotel specifically because "air conditioning" was prominently advertised on their booking website as an available amenity for my stay in April 2026. There were absolutely no warnings regarding seasonal or building-wide restrictions.

During the night, my room became unbearably hot, making it impossible to sleep. At 2:00 AM, I went to the front desk to complain. The night receptionist explicitly admitted to me that there was a malfunction/issue with the air conditioning system across the entire building. She moved me to a second room, but because of the building-wide issue, that room also had no functional cooling.

The situation was so uncomfortable that I was forced to pack my bags, check out in the middle of the night, and check into a different Ibis hotel in Lyon at 3:30 AM just to find a climate-controlled room where I could sleep.

When I requested a refund for this failed service, the hotel manager flatly refused. Shockingly, the management is now attempting to rewrite history. In writing, they claim that the air conditioning was functioning normally, completely contradicting the explicit admission made by their own front-desk staff on duty that night. I would not have changed to another Ibis hotel (which had air conditioning) at 3:30 AM if the first Ibis was comfortable enough to sleep.

Under French Consumer Law (Article L121-2), a business must be honest; advertising an essential amenity that you know is deactivated or broken is a misleading commercial practice.

The management of this property is deceptive, untruthful, and refuses to take corporate responsibility for their service failures. I have escalated this formal dispute to the French consumer authorities (SignalConso) and Le Médiateur du Tourisme et du Voyage which has not helped. Avoid this specific hotel at all costs—they will take your money and lie to cover up their mistakes.

The dishonesty and deception is the most upsetting about this whole experience.

Dangerous hotel, random people will come in to your room

The hotel took a pre authorisation from my card and have never refunded me! The toilet seat was broken in my room and the security bolt had been snapped off, the irony is that when I was asleep I was woken up by someone coming to my room as the receptionist had given a second key to some random person and I couldn’t even properly lock my door. When I complained the receptionist didn’t even say sorry, all she said was “we didn’t know you were in that room”. It’s a nightmare trying to deal with anyone from Accor, all they do is say that someone will be in touch and you never hear from them.

Good experience for French/Paris trips. UK hotels (generally) not so good.

Have used them 50+ times and generally had a very positive experience. I tend to use them for trips to France/Paris, and the Mercure and Ibis Styles hotels are very good - although I always independently check reviews on Booking.com for new hotels I use. The only problem I have come up with is the lack of hotels in the UK, and the relatively poor quality when compared to those in France. A Mercure in Paris is so much better than a UK Mercure. I only rarely use them for UK trips now, which is a shame. Although the Novotel in Liverpool Paddington Village (most recent trip) was very good.
