Can I put less than one star
Can I put less than one star? are the negative ratings? We paid 2600 in May of 25 for a photo safari in Africa and was just told that the jet fuel shortage because of the war is NOT COVERED! This is the worst travel insurance company and I will do my best to burn them down!
Allianz Insurance is a scam!!
Allianz Insurance is a scam!!! I agree with the reviews. 1 star is still too high. My family and I missed our flight due to traffic and my son's motion sickness. Allianz didn't compensate us for the rebooked flight, demanding idiotic information from us, such as where exactly we were stuck on which street 😂 photos and information from TV, the internet, or other media. I should point out that we were in a foreign country. They charge for insurance, and if something happens, you're treated like a fraudster. And I see from the reviews that this is a common practice :( You go on vacation, buy insurance, think you're safe, and it turns out you've been scammed.
Stay away from this Company.
I would give them zero if I could. Worst customer service, never answering. Then, even when you get lucky and someone answers, it takes weeks to get partial reimbursement or you dont.
I am very dissatisfied with my claim…
I am very dissatisfied with my claim experience. My claim was rejected on the basis of “disinclination to travel, personal wishes, financial or business reasons,” which is completely inappropriate in this situation.
The cancellation of our travel was caused by a connecting flight being cancelled—something that was entirely outside of our control. This was not a personal choice or change of plans, but a direct result of circumstances beyond our influence.
It is extremely frustrating to have a legitimate claim declined under an incorrect interpretation of the policy. I expected fair consideration, but instead feel that my situation was not properly understood or assessed.
Additionally, the processing time and communication from the team have been very disappointing. The stated timeframe of 10 working days has not been met at any stage—it has already taken more than 3 weeks, and I am still waiting for a response regarding the final outcome.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
I have this insurance through my bank…
I have this insurance through my bank and after reading all the reviews, we were worried we wouldn’t get the money back my husband had a dvt. 8 days before the holiday and even though it wasn’t the full amount as a it’s capped per person we hand all of the capped money back
A totally disgusting and terrible…
A totally disgusting and terrible experience with them I claim travel insurance from NatWest for my cancelled flight Dubai to London by emirates due to Iran war and provide all documents but my claim was rejected and I claim medical insurance also but I was rejected I want to know why they are pretending as a insurance company even though they don’t know what is the insurance mean totally rubbish staff f…king disgusting
Zero stars day light robbery.
We were trapped in Thailand for 65 days. We had to increase our insurance from 62 to 93 days. They charged us £400, over £100 per day . This is day light robbery. At least Richard Turpin wore a mask !!
Another company my house insurance MBNA waived the extra fee. Much better service from these.
I had a trip to puerto Vallarta…
I had a trip to puerto Vallarta February 23rd. Day after the Cartel invaded. Civil unrest. Airports closed. I was just denied (after countless hours)for my claim??? Y friends I was travelling with used there American Express cards! They all got refunds the next day! Allianz reason for denial… “No travel advisory had been issued for
you ticketed destination!! WHAT!!! Not only was a major travel advisory issued. Airports closed!!
It’s a scam. I’m telling you they are the worst. Much better travel insurance out there!!
Slow process
Slow process, took weeks for them to review a few papers. Then I would get automatic emails that were confusing and made no sense. I had to call a few times because I kept getting operators that were not helpful or couldn’t speak coherently. Finally, I was denied because they said I didn’t file the claim within 24 hours of the item being stolen (which I did but Southwest doesn’t provide any official paperwork for it). I can’t say I’m surprised, insurance companies never want to pay

claim reference number 2026/00716898
Diana Ross
I’m seriously ill and have been in hospital since early February with ongoing inpatient care, and I booked my holiday on August 2 last year, expecting Alliance Insurance to be straightforward as part of my NatWest Black account. Instead I’ve endured an exhausting, soul-destroying nightmare. I started the claim on 20 th of February while still in hospital, and I provided everything I was asked for up front, including the Alliance reference number 2026/00716898, yet the process has been a constant barrage of slow, unclear updates and constant delays. The initial operative I spoke with forgot to send out the GP cert needed to be completed by my GP at my cost It took 10 days before I realised this The communication has been inconsistent and non-existent at times, and I’m left guessing whether anyone is actually looking at my case. The refund/claims process is opaque, with steps and requirements that aren’t clearly documented, which has caused ongoing confusion and further delays. When I could finally get through to someone, the responses were slow and unhelpful, offering little to no progress on my claim. This starkly contrasts with the marketing promise of a smooth experience as part of the NatWest Black package, and it has felt like a stressful, time-consuming ordeal during a serious health crisis. The emotional and financial stress has intensified my hospital stay and ongoing treatment, draining precious time and energy that I should be using to recover. I want others to know that Alliance Insurance can be bought separately from NatWest, so do not assume it will be seamless just because you have NatWest Black. If you rely on this insurance, be prepared for delays and a lack of timely updates, and make sure you fully understand what your policy covers and how claims are handled before you need to rely on it. Document every communication with dates, names, and reference numbers and escalate quickly if you don’t see progress. For the provider, improvements should include clear upfront documentation of the claims steps and required evidence, transparent timelines and regular status updates, and faster, more empathetic support, especially for customers in serious medical situations. I have now escalated this matter with everything I’ve sent them, including all correspondence from British Airways Finances, and I’m preparing to seek a CCJ to recover my money if necessary, with all relevant dates, claim numbers, and documents attached. I’ll be pursuing an ombudsman complaint as well, and I intend to present a detailed, factual summary with all supporting evidence. If you’re considering Alliance Insurance—whether via NatWest Black or as a standalone policy—be warned: the reality, in my experience, is a drawn-out, stressful, and unhelpful process during a health crisis, and I’m documenting every step and will take all appropriate actions to seek redress. I’ll continue to post updates as this progresses, including any responses from the ombudsman or court actions, so others can see exactly how this was handled and what it took to push back. And yes, I’ve found that some customers won’t get a reply on Trustpilot, which is telling about how this company interacts with its customers publicly.
I have put a formal complaint in writing to them with an automated reply saying they will reply within 5 working days . Nothing!!!!No surprises there 😡

Don't waste your money
Don't waste your money. I've provided the same documentation requested at least five times now; all I get in response is the same request. It's obvious that Allianz is looking for any excuse not to pay. I would never buy Allianz insurance again.
VERY positive experience
I have to say…based on all the negative reviews I thought I would have no chance in getting my claim paid. Always bought the Allianz insurance when we’ve booked our Sandals vacations (seemed prudent) but never made a claim. Long story short…we had to cut our trip short this past Jan due to the winter storm that hit the east coast. I provided the cost of the trip…a letter from the resort saying we had to leave due to pending weather…and it was as simple as that. Month later we were reimbursed. Obviously I have no idea about anyone else’s experience, but just wanted to share mine.
I was in a trip to Europe
I was in a trip to Europe, they just make it so your emergency its no valid on its list of emergencies
Bunch of idiots and crooks
Bunch of …crooks
Every time you call them, regardless of time ie 2pm, 4:30pm, the answer phone says the same thing “we’re sorry but we’re closed. Our opening hours are 9am to 6pm.”
Well if it’s until 6pm, then you should still be open would you not??
Try contacting them by email, you can’t negotiate or discuss things through with anybody. They reply with the same email as the one you’ve already replied to.
It is like talking to a standing wall.
I’ll know who to get my travel insurance with and it’s not going to be this bunch of thick necks that’s for sure.
Lack of information about what the…
Lack of information about what the insurance covers when making an offer and a long wait for a response.
They don’t even deserve 1 star
They don’t even deserve 1 star. Con of a company. Brought a gold package for a cruise which was over £200 for 3 of us. We had issues at air space and missed 3 of the holiday and theses con artist refused to pay any money hope everyone reads this and avoids them like the plague CON ARTISTS OF A CONPANY
A total con
A total con! Do NOT purchase their travel insurance!
I bought cancellation insurance for SNCF trip for 2 people Avignon TGV to Paris return.
I had to cancel the trip for a work related issue and they bluntly told me that I couldn't get a refund. Very rude on the phone (Mme Sonia R. from the Saint-Ouen branch). This lady and the entire company should be ashamed of themselves for this blatant con.
Allianz only interested in profit
I have been an Allianz Travel Insurance customer yearly for the past 5 years. I made an error on the dates on my current policy ie travel finished 2 days earlier than I meant to. (My stupid mistake) However my attempt to extend by 2 days the $558 policy (which was for for a 9 day cruise plus fly back to Brisbane) was refused flatly and I was told by a call centre in India to book a new policy. Never again Allianz!
Stress Free Claim Process
We have just had to make a claim for the Full cost of our holiday to India due to my wife breaking her wrist just before we were due to travel.
Unlike other reviewers we found that everyone we spoke to at Allianze was sympathetic and helpful in the claim's process.
We filled out the required forms, submitted them and recieved our compensation without issue. (which was a substantial ammount)
Due to my experience I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
