This is a misleading cash-grabbing company.
Don't get me wrong, they have very helpful salespeople guiding you in the beginning however, they don't inform you about the money you are about to pay. I paid 750$ to them for them to mislead me and not tell me that I need to do another 2150$ payment to get my trademark fully filled to receive a certificate.
This is a money trap and when I called them out on it and to get refunded, Alan was a rude spokesperson. Beware and go with another company. Don't be like me and lose 750$ for non-sense..
The below is my review I wrote a couple of weeks ago, but after they have made a dispute on the review I couldn`t be bothered to collect all the documents and send them to Trustpilot because I wasted already so much time with these scammers, but now that I see other ppl are also being scammed and as well I still need some money back I decided to put my review back.
All the 5 star reviews are fake.. Does it make sense that someone is writing that after reading the reviews about the scam he got registered a trademark succesfully? a trademark doesn`t get registered in 2 weeks and all the reviews are new here... as well it looks to me that there is only one person in that scam firm and he is changing his name every second day...
This is my story
4 months after filing a new trademark application I got an email from them with a charge of $2475, and they said that this is a requirement from the USPTO direct to their attorney to file a combined 8 and 9 declaration.
When that didn't make any sense to me I made my own research and I could see that this filing is only for renewals after 10 years!!
I picked up a phone with the USPTO and they said to me that they are currently reviewing applications from May 22, and they filed my trademark on November 22!
The pdf with the USPTO requirement they attached with the email looked fake, I emailed them asking about it they were saying that this is what they got from the USPTO. But this is what Jerry Lynch wrote:
"I can check the reason behind it"
"We will make sure that we take strict action against them"
And this was only after 2 days of denying any scam here.
Then I noticed as well that only one class was filed in TEAS plus for $250 and I have paid them to file in 3 classes for $350. so they kept $800 for themselves, without telling me that 2 classes were not filed and other people could register in that classes with the same trademark.
When I asked them all in the beginning why I can only see one class in the documentation of the USPTO, the following I got answered:
"Hope you're doing well today, this is to notify you that the classifications are added in each stage of the registration process. You will start getting the updates on the websites once the application will clear the examination stage which takes a mere 6-8 months"
If you know what this means.
But now I notified that the application they forwarded me after filling is completely different from the application I could see on the USPTO website, on the application I received from them it showed that they have paid $1050 gov fees and 3 classes were filed, and on the original document from the USPTO, it shows that only $250 fees were paid for one class!!!
So they have just edited the email I should think that all 3 classes were filed!
The following is what Jerry wrote today:
"I am really sorry for the government fees that is paid It is not refundable I have process refund for other classes"
So only now after showing them the scam in their face, they are ready to refund me the money for the 2 classes they did not file!
I now have to clean up the mass they have done and it costs me a lot of money.
I showed the research they have done before applying to other experts and they said that it was done in 2 minutes...
This is a strange scam and you need to read this all to fully comprehend exactly how they scam you.
I placed an order for their basic trademark package. It was $39 when I paid for it plus the trademark filing fee (approx. $350 per class).
I placed the order and shortly after they sent me a name search that looked a little strange. But it showed that there were no conflicts with my trademark.
A couple days later, someone from their company called me saying that my trademark needed to be registered for 4 classes and the cost would be approx. $1,400. I told them that sounded a little strange but to proceed (because they're supposed to be the experts in trademarks).
About 30 days goes by and they say that the government is requesting more information and we would have to submit an attestation document, and between the legal services and the filing fee, the price would be $2,700... So again I trusted them to do their thing. They charged my credit card.
Like clockwork, 30 days later they call me again saying someone is appealing my trademark saying that they are already using that name. The rep from Allied IP said they already sent a cease and desist letter, and they'll have to make an appearance in court. The cost to do all of this was going to another outrageous amount.
I paused and asked them to show me proof of this dispute, a copy of the cease and desist letter, and ALL receipts and proof of filing up until this point.
They initially they sent me a government of Canada document from the CIPO (Canadian Intellectual Property Office) that included filing number for my trademark...
This is when things get strange and super illegal. They used that government document and tried to manipulate it in Microsoft Word (I have metadata to prove it) to show that they filed an affidavit.
They failed to provide any copies or proof of anything they did beyond the initial filing.
When I looked at the CIPO website and looked up my filing number, they only filed for 1 class, not 4... They charged me $1,400 when they should have only charged me $350.
When I called the CIPO, to ask about my trademark they confirmed only 1 class was registered and they said that it appears as if I registered my trademark myself, except they used a scam email address from a protected domain name. They are not authorized agents.
When I confronted them about it, this is when things get really strange. They tried to forge more documents, even someone there called me POSING AS A CANADIAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE...
The address on their invoices leads to some random house in Illinois, the address on their website leads to some Spanish church in Texas. They also claim to work with some lawyer named Felix Gonzalez - which I called and confirmed was also not true.
Due to the complexity of this scam, it was EXTREMELY hard to get my money back from visa, but I was able to by clearly documenting everything. It took days of work, but it was worth it to make sure these scammers couldn't steal my money.
Beware, do not give them your credit card information, do not give them a chance. If you lost money already, dispute your charges with VISA, because It's doubtful that these guys are even on US or Canadian soil.
Allied IP Firm is an exceptional trademark company that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of trademark services. I recently had the pleasure of working with Jerry, and I was thoroughly impressed with his professionalism, expertise, and dedication to helping me protect my brand.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical about engaging the services of Allied IP Firm because I had read some negative reviews online. I even accused the company of being a scam, but Jerry was patient and understanding with me. He took the time to explain the trademark registration process to me and addressed all my concerns, providing me with accurate information that helped clear any misunderstandings I had.
Thanks to Jerry's guidance and expertise, my trademark registration was successfully completed without any issues. He was always available to answer my questions and provided me with timely updates throughout the entire process.
I was impressed by the high level of professionalism that I received from Allied IP Firm. Their team's expertise in trademark law and their commitment to delivering exceptional services are truly unmatched. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs trademark services.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy trademark company, look no further than Allied IP Firm. Their team, especially Jerry, is outstanding, and I am very grateful for their help in protecting my brand. I highly recommend them and look forward to working with them again in the future
They are a scam. After the initial filing and fees paid, they told me the USTPO had sent them correspondence that required me to pay an additional ($50, then went to $1,500, then went to $2,500, then went to $3000, then went back to $2,500...) I called the USTPO, there was no such correspondence and there is no more EXTRA fees required. UPDATE: There reply is again a scam. I and the US Patent and Trademark Office REMOVED them from the application because of their actions. I have all the emails and voice recordings to prove it.
Their reply is a joke. They filed paperwork with the USPTO claiming they were again my lawyers. Thankfully the USPTO asked me first. They LIE A LOT.
