Much Better Than Expected
I was very worried about placing an order because of the negative reviews, but I found that while this business is not perfect, it's 100% legitimate and functional. I had a question about an item (picture did not match description) and sent a message through the website and received a ticket number and a phone number in case I wanted to follow up on my issue. My question was ignored. Two days later, I called and they handled my question professionally. The operator didn't know the answer, but promised to have someone call back. They called back within an hour and also replied to my e-mail. They shipped faster than expected. I placed a large order and 20% of my order is delayed for some reason (hopefully it's just delayed and I will not have to file a complaint), but with the 80% of the order that did arrive very quickly, I am a very happy camper. While the CSR told me that someone would fix the item description to match the photo, they never fixed that issue. Also, one of the shoes I ordered was one half size smaller than what I ordered because someone put the wrong-sized shoe in the box! But it's still a good fit, so I'm not complaining about it. It's not a perfect business, but they're trying and I didn't get a sense they're scamming anyone.

Ordered a Specialized Tactic 4 on 6/24 with a great deal ( 50% off a 120$ helmet) and used a promo code to take the tax off. Came out to 60$ shipped!! I don't know why Als has these reviews on here but I haven't had any problems so far. Ordering another Specialized helmet for a family member and well on a amazing deal.
they wont ever delete your account
the merch and price were decent. they informed me about some kind of data hack...and, it takes like six acts ofsome god to get your account deleted. its shameful they treat you and your data this way. i wouldnt do business with them for these reasons. how is there not a way to delete your account..??
Great Deal - If You Actually Receive Something
Ordered a pair of shoes on the morning of April 15th and my card was charged. In the very late evening of April 16th, my order was canceled because the item was out of stock. Disappointing, but the timeframe it took for the notification really stunk. Now the reason I'm writing this review is because today I received an update from Al's that my order information was accessed by a third party (read: hacked) and my personal information was leaked. Not only did I not receive the product ordered, but they are also using an insecure website to sell items. Avoid!
Terrible customer service
After waiting 3 weeks for my order I contacted them to ask for help, a replacement to be sent or a refund. They told me they couldn’t do that. Then I was told to just reach out to the post office myself and see why they could do… as though I ordered from the post office and not Al’s. I told them I didn’t plan on spending hours on the phone with a government agency and since they had my money, perhaps they should help me. No repsponse, no replacement, no refund as of yet… seems like a scam company

Slow Shipping, Wrong Product Sent, No Suitable Replacement, Deceptive Compensation
I understand that shipping delays can occur—10 days in this case—and mistakes like receiving the wrong item can happen, I find it unacceptable to be asked to pay a higher price for a replacement.
Moreover, I was offered a discount code, "alsvip24," purportedly as on time special compensation for the issues with my order. Upon investigation, I discovered that this code is a publicly available promotion that has been active for several months. This misleading practice is deceptive.
I seldom leave negative feedback, but given this disappointing experience, I am compelled to leave this review.
Good Online Customer Service
I actually had a really great experience with Al’s. I ordered a sleeping bag at a nice discount and they were prompt in shipping it out and replying to my emailed questions.
When my package was returned by FedEx (I didn’t pick it up from the office in time…), it was no hassle at all to get Al’s to resend it via USPS.
Would definitely order from here again.

Update #2: Finally received my item, it was correct and exactly what I ordered. If Al's actually reads these reviews, my suggestion would be to COMMUNICATE with your customers, don't leave us guessing if orders have been received, and if there are delays.

Wish I'd read the reviews before I ordered, I know better! Ordered a pair of pants at a fantastic price, charge appeared on my card immediately, but no order confirmation. I checked the website, says I haven't placed any orders?? Then how in the hell did they get my cc#? I've tried repeatedly to contact customer service to resolve the issue, but I have yet to receive any kind of response. I'm working with my bank to get this charge reversed. Send the pants, refund my money, communicate, DO SOMETHING. The customer service at this place is nonexistent.

Shoes lost in mail and company won't help
I ordered shoes in July, July 31st it shipped. My shoes were supposed to be delivered August 3rd. They were not. They got stuck in a shipping loop and send to Alaska. As of today, August 15th, I have yet to get me shoes and it still says "in transit" The company will not refund my money, or contact usps to file a claim. They just keep telling me to wait. I talked to USPS even said to file a claim. Terrible business to just keep saying "just wait, there's nothing we can do".
How is it reasonable to expect someone keep waiting 2 weeks AFTER an item was SUPPOSED to be delivered?
Honestly wouldn't recommend shopping here.

These guys are slick. I ordered a costa del mar keeper retainer and photo showed black with grey tag, what i received was black with a blue tag, on top of that i ordered an orange chums and receive a yellow one. Now been trying to get my total refund of 28.60 for weeks. Just got and email saying refunded seperatel for each item and total refund came up $8.99 short! BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS, THEY RETURN DEPT. ARE HORRIBLE, SENT EMAILS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, NO RESPONSE....STAY AWAY PEOPLE.

Great Customer Service!
I had an issue with a pair of ski boots that I ordered from them and I feel like they went above and beyond to make it right. Sent me a refund and a pretty solid discount code for my next order. I've ordered a few things from them at this point. Most recently, a carbon fiber airbag cylinder with a 20% discount code which was the cheapest I could find it anywhere.

“Return Department” Horrible
I have bought online purchases for years and years, this is one of those few times didn’t go smoothly.
Bought a climbing harness, got it no problem. Tried it on ONCE, too small, so I asked for return, got the return label that same night, packed in a box (while they shipped in plastic) and shipped it the following day.
Ordered same item next level size on the same night I requested return label.
Today, got an email that my return was denied??? Reason: it was used. Like bruh, how you going to test a harness without using it? I tried it for 2mins to test how it felt. All the instruction manuals and tags are there!
Called to explain, no luck. The person on the phone was kind and couldn’t do anything other than offered -20% for total product. Said something about safety. What an expensive experience to try a product on for 2 mins.
Should have just bought to REI or backcountry, never had issue with them.

Today I experienced fantastic customer. A product I had just ordered dropped in price. I called on a Saturday morning and the customer service rep quickly and professionally refunded the difference to my credit card. Fantastic!

i bought a sleeping mat for camping online. didn't like it, went over 30 day return date, called customer service. they picked up in a minute. process the return in another minute. cost me $9.95 but it's not their fault I didn't like the item. First time shopping there. Would do again.
