Alter Eco 

I’m always looking for more things to do to counteract global warming, I’m vegan, I re-use as much as I can and I try not to indulge in fast fashion. I do however sometimes succumb to Instagram ads and I am finding it really difficult to cut out plastic with a busy lifestyle. Alter Eco was just the thing I needed to offset some of my carbon pitfalls. It’s been lovely to read the articles and see where my money is going, Mangrove forests, wind farms and solar cookers for refugee women in Chad. I receive regular updates by email too and can sign in to see how many tonnes of carbon I’ve offset. Huge thanks to a company that’s helping me build a better world for my future children, nephew and godson xxxx

Like most, I want to do my bit for the planet and offset some of my less green behaviours. However, it's tough trawling through the internet to find a clear and succinct way of doing this. Unless anyone knows how to plant trees themselves? I struggle taking care of my cactus, never mind about helping the planet survive.

Alter-eco, apart from a great name, brings the dreadlock hippy inside all of us into the tech era and helps you, help the world at the click (literally) of a button.

I found the pricing structure fair, which made it the simple decision between adding another streaming service to my subscription catalogue or somehing I can pull out to my mates and brag about how green I am (we've all done it).

I would certainly recommend it!

I learned from Alter Eco that the average person in GB is responsible for approx. 8 tonnes of carbon footprint each year. That shocked me. I recycle, try not to waste energy or water and my wife uses eco-friendly cleaning products. But we’re miles away from offsetting that 8 tonnes.
I was drawn to the projects in which Alter Eco are involved. Not just the tree planting, but also solar cookers for refugee families in Chad. So many benefits to the local people and communities as well as to the environment. Such a great thing. For me, signing up was the right thing to do.

I try my best to keep my carbon footprint down but it’s just impossible to live in this day and age without having an environmental impact. For the things I can’t change, Alter-eco seems like a perfect solution. The sign up was really easy and they seem super friendly. I would really encourage others to join. We will only tackle the climate crisis if we all do our bit!!

The sign up process was super easy/slick and provided me with a range of membership types to match my lifestyle. There is also lots of information about the specific projects being funded (which are all either United Nations or Gold Standard certified).
