Update to Alternacare Review
08/31/26 - Alternacare responded quickly to my original post and have reduced my balance to zero; for that I am very grateful. I was not trying to disparage Alternacare but rather caution people to get costs or accurate estimates before agreeing to any charges. Confirm prices with labs before the tests are done. Alternacare will provide a lab order with CPT codes. Pay for services as they are done, not the entire program all at once. Use the Alternacare patient portal for the account statement. When we need a repair to our house or car, we get estimates. We need to do the same thing when it concerns our health.
Alternacare may be a legitimate business concerning holistic health. They are not trustworthy with the costs of the program. There is no such thing as a "Good Faith Estimate" as required by all health professionals. They will not give you an estimate of costs, only a total cost, and not a per item charge unless you ask for it. If they order lab work for you, verify with the lab what the cost is. Alternacare charged me more than the labs charged them. I'm not saying don't use their program. I AM saying, know exactly what you will be charged for and only pay for the labs and 1 consultation phone call to get the price of the supplements they say you will need. My supplements were going to cost $3,445.56, on top of the $2,649 cost for the program. I'm fighting to get some of the $2,649 back.
