Booked here Amalfi Restuarant (Argyll Street)

Booked here (Argyll Street, London) for an early dinner. Food was poor - one main course (the burger) returned as it was inedible. The replacement pasta dish was akin to a microwave ready meal. We had 3 separate servers in the 90 mins we were there - no accountability for the poor experience, in fact no personalisation at all. Massively over-priced for the quality of the food, no ambience and the overall poor experience. Would not recommend

DO NOT STAY AT LILLA’S HOUSE in amalfi

DO NOT STAY AT LILLA’S HOUSE in amalfi. Our flight was delayed. We rang to inform Enzo the agent and he refused to meet us after 6 .30 pm. He wouldn’t make any alternative arrangements to give us keys etc. they were totally inflexible. No key pad arragement. We arrived asap 8 pm. He blocked our calls and left us in amalfi square near the fountain with our bags and no-where to stay. We found alternative accommodation for 1 night. Early Next day he cancelled our booking when we were available for their 3-6.30 pm check in window! He has refused to refund us booked in advance via booking. Com). So a word of warning. Unless you can be absolutely sure of no delays, disruptions or cancellations to travel. Avoid. Enzo and his agency Alfiere Immobiliare are unhelpful, totally inflexible and quite happy to leave you homeless for the night! AVOID this organisation

the property “TERACE BELVEDERE” IN…

the property “TERACE BELVEDERE” IN PONTONE, AMALFI coast, Italy, is a scam. They will provide with wrong address, (there are three different addresses online) then they will act angry to ruin your vacation and make you leave the property to sell it again-they steal money from your bank account. Avoid TERACE BELVEDERE PONTONE at all cost.

We live in Lincolnshire my wife visited…

We live in Lincolnshire my wife visited London to go to the theatre with her sister brother in law and nephew.

The had a meal in the Amalfi Ristorante in Argyll Street. My wife read the menu with her reading glasses on. Unfortunately she left her glasses on the table and did not realising this until arriving home. We e-mailed the restaurant several times. Guess what we never got a reply. What great customer service. Food was not that good either

Slow, Rude and Unprofessional

Booked here (Argyll Street, London) as we were going to the theatre near by and had used it before. We were shown to our table quickly but had to wait a good time before we saw a server. Our order was taken efficiently but there was no greeting or any attempt to be friendly or sociable. It took almost an hour for our starters to come and these were delivered to our table without any word of an apology for the time taken, indeed the server was talking to another server whilst serving us! Luckily, we had booked the table in good time so we didn't miss our show, When the bill arrived, there were 2 items on it we never ordered, I pointed this out and they were removed from the bill but with no apology. Indeed our server said well done for checking! so I wonder if they were added on purpose. They totalled over £15. An optional service charge of 12.5% is added to the bill, ours was £25+. Our service was adequate at best so we decided to leave a tip of £15, still a good tip or so we thought. Well our server obviously didn't, she questioned it and di so quite loudly and was quite rude about it. I did remind her it was optional but she made out she did not understand!
We could see her moaning about it back at the till and pointing us out to the manager. I suspect most people are scared not to pay what is shown as optional!. Very unprofessional.

Trattoria Amalfi, Potsdam, Germany

Trattoria Amalfi, Potsdam, Germany
One to avoid if you want to have good memories of a place!

This restaurant is on a busy street and looked inviting on a hot day. I went there with my two friends on our last day in Potsdam.
It was a basic Italian restaurant that you'd find in nearly every other restaurant serving Italian cuisine- nothing special about it. The drinks menu was quite limited and there weren't as many mocktail options as I would've expected.
Service was very slow, but we were in no rush, so it didn't bother me. This might be something to consider if you want to be served quickly.
The food tasted alright (just a bit too salty for my taste) and came with complimentary bread and cheese. At the end of the meal, we asked for three separate bills, but got one. The person serving us said he couldn't because he had already printed one. He put the receipt on the table and said you can work it out how much each person had to pay. When we got our cards out, he said the restaurant only takes cash. There were no signs for that anywhere- neither outside the restaurant nor at the tables. He said 'everyone' on that street only accept cash (We didn’t get to test that statement as we didn’t stay in Potsdam long enough). We emptied our purses to look for cash as we had run out of cash by this point in our stay in Potsdam, but had several debit and credit cards between us which didn't seem to work. We managed to pay the full bill with whatever leftover coins and bills we had, but the waiter was not happy and started complaining that we didn't leave any tip for him.
We apologised and explained that it was our last day in Potsdam, but the rude waiter shook his head, grumbled loudly, and walked off. We felt awful at being spoken to in such a rude way. Shockingly bad!

It was a shame that what would've been a good last evening meal for us ended in an uncomfortable way.

Important take away for tourists like me: Take cash as you would need it and don’t assume that credit cards will be accepted everywhere.

Horrible experience!

I would have given a zero score if I could! Easily the worst restaurant experience I’ve had for a long time! They couldn’t service the customers they had with just two waiting staff, yet they kept allowing others to stream in. Waited 35 minutes just for olives and flatbread and then another hour for the main course. Make sure you’re not hungry when you go here, which kind of defeats the object of going to a restaurant! Three pieces of advice - AVOID, AVOID AVOID!
