Amanda Irene Photography review, really disappointed

Really disappointed with the experience, and here’s why I took off stars. A version of this review was originally posted on yelp; however, after a former client of Amanda's reached out to me, I am now deciding to share it again.

The first star was lost because the whole experience was extremely awkward. Your wedding day is already stressful, and having a photographer who seemed unsure and uncomfortable made it even harder. She often wandered around aimlessly, and unless I specifically asked her to take certain photos, she wasn’t taking much initiative. I expected more direction and confidence from a professional.

The second star came off because our photos were delivered late. The contract stated 4–6 weeks, but ours took longer. What made it more frustrating was seeing other clients’ sessions (shot after ours) being posted and delivered first. I had to email three times before getting any response — and only after my husband reached out to her did we hear back. If timelines are going to slip, communication should come before the deadline, not after it’s passed.

The third star was lost due to the final quality of the photos. Many looked like they had a basic filter applied, with only a few appearing to be retouched at all. For the price we paid (over $2,000), I expected a higher level of editing — things like basic blemish removal should be standard. I am aware that Amanda Irene Photo states that she keeps editing natural; however, most professional photographers keep their editing "natural" and you don't see models with pimples and acne scars on their face. A few photos were so grainy they were unusable, even though the contract promised high-resolution images. I reached out to share my concerns but never received a response.

Several of my guests are professional photographers, and they were surprised at the lack of direction and professionalism. I chose to hire someone so our guests could relax and enjoy the day — in hindsight, I wish I had asked one of them to step in instead. There was no guidance on posing, no help arranging my dress for photos — things I thought were part of a wedding photographer’s job.

This review has been sitting in my notes for nearly two years. It’s not a spur-of-the-moment complaint — it’s something I’ve carried with me since the wedding. I’m sharing it now in hopes it helps others make an informed decision. If I could go back, I would have found someone more experienced, or even asked trusted friends to help capture the day instead.

Do not recomment Amanda irene Photography, beware of scam

y wife and I hired Amanda irene photography for our wedding, hoping to stay within budget Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall quality of the photos and the delivery timeline, which did not meet our expectations based on the original agreement. The photos did not reflect the level of professionalism we were hoping for on such an important day.
We understand that wedding photography is a personal and subjective experience, but in our case, the results fell short. I encourage others to thoroughly research and consider multiple options before making an important decision. In our experience, its worth prioritizing quality and reliability over cost when it comes to capturing a once-in-a-lifetime event

I posted a review on yelp and google that was a bit lengthier, but had more details. Amanda then proceeded to change her yelp name and her google name to "maddys photos", as well as delete all the photos that she posted herself on yelp, trying to distance her name from my experience. When I checked back later, she changed her google business page to "mandy's photo" and it is now labeled as out of business. I dont know if I can link photos here, but if you go to her yelp page, fb page, and fake google page, you can see that all of the phone numbers are the same and she was just trying to distance herself from it. Since then, she has now reclaimed her yelp as "Amanda Irene photography" and is drowning it with her wedding photos to hide the review pictures that myself, and one other unfortunate customer has posted. My goal with this post is hoping she will not be able to run from the bad experiences she has caused since we will not be able to remove it. I also hope she is no longer able to deceive future clients.
