I had a 8% interest rate on my credit card, now I find out It is now 18% without my knowing. they do not tell you they are going to F you behind your back.

let alone, they give you a gredit increase to your most maxed out cards to gain more money from you, this was also not approved by me. these greedy A**holes deserve hell, hence they are apart of the LDS church.

Online banking system sucks

Online banking system sucks. I can’t tell you the amount of times it has shown pending charges then 10 min later those charges just disappear while I’ve been allowed to take out money that’s not really there only to be charged overdraft fees after. They are a total MESS!! Nothing is ever up to date, their ATMs are constantly out of service and their customer service is far below expectations. Can’t wait to find a new bank.

I got scammed for 4000 dollars i filed complaints topped the card the whole 9 everything they reviewed for a week whole time was put over 500 in hole beyond what they stole. When I had 25$ max limit for any reason my account would not go past they chose to let it Then sent a letter would even talk to me the let people take 71.29 139x then 17.12 7x then 106.99 9x i put a stop of my own after 1 st day of seeing they weren't stopping and they still let them take more.

I just left the Hillfield Road Branch

I just left the Hillfield Road Branch. I took a check from an investment account. It was not for a large amount.
After I got to the window it took at least 15 minutes for the teller to complete the transaction. she kept typing something on the computer the whole time. She said that it was over her limit and that she had to have it approved.
After waiting for another 5 minutes I ask her what was taking so long. She said that the approval had to come from Headquarters. What are Branch Managers for?
All this while there were 7 or 8 people in line.

Poor customer service. Lack of understanding.

I only use my AFCU account for a side business. As soon as money hits that account, I usually transfer it to my personal bank account. One day I tried to make a credit card payment using this account. I accidentaly fat fingered an extra 0 and hit submit. I instantly caught it and called AFCU to stop the payment. They said they couldn't but that it wouldn't go through because I didn't have that amount in my account. Two days later the charge went through, along with one other bill I paid (since they said the other one wouldn't go through) and I was hit with $50 in overdraft fees. When I called again to explain my situation, I was told there was nothing they could do. I ended up paying the extra $50 and I swear I will never work with them again.

I came to them Oct 2023 first time and…

I came to them Oct 2023 first time and had a male therapist and assistant intern to give me service. It went fine as I told them I am sensitive due to other medical issues. So I came back two more times once a month but the last time the straw that broke the camel's back, Nov 2023, that I was given a female therapist (spouse) who was supposed to be the best one in there. She knew her stuff but when she kept massaging me due to my pain, I kept telling her throughout the session that I am sensitive or please go light on me as we would talk so much; and the more she talked, the more she pressed so hard on me having medical issues that she would say 'sorry' every time then we keep talking and she keeps pressing harder and harder as a disabled military veteran.

Her perception of 'light pressure' is different from my perception of 'light pressure' as I talked to Stephanie the next day about it. The next couple of days I was still hurting so I had to go get this pain taken care of. So, I decided to get my refund partial or $100 through America First in Henderson as it wasn't worth still hurting and the bank said I can only do the whole refund. So, I decided let's do this and then found out from the bank in person following up this issue through my bank that they stated from the therapy location's response said I signed papers as to how the treatment would go more like they're not responsible should something go wrong. I noticed there is nowhere or protocol policy that states no refund if something should go wrong and not satisfied with service where I felt I threw my money to the person who I kept insisting I was hurting during the session. Would you pay that much and get messed over by your bank who lets it go and don't care?

STAY FAR AWAY FROM AMERICA FIRST CU!!!

Absolutely terrible institution with terrible customer service-if I could give negative stars I would. I live in Southern California and after putting me through an exhausting verification process on the phone and successfully validating myself they tell me that since I live in California and since there isn't a physical branch here they wont be able to approve my membership. This is beyond ridiculous. If you don't want people who live in California state that on your website up front so people don't have to waste their time. The reps had an attitude problem and their tone was disrespectful on top of that. I don't know why anyone would want to join this terrible credit union. I would advise everyone to STAY FAR AWAY FROM AMERICA FIRST CU!!!

America First Credit Union is still taking money from me on a paid off loan.

I have had multiple auto loans throughout my life and my last with with America First Credit Union. Tis has been THE WORST experience. My loan was paid off 2 months ago and they are still taking funds from my account. Each time it happened I spoke with one of their phone reps and they assured me it was fixed, only for it to happen again 30 days later. I even went into one of the only branches they have in AZ and closed my accounts in person. Should be good, right? Nope! I just received an email that there is another pending withdrawal. My bank is working to stop it, but AMERICA FIRST CREDIT UNION has done nothing to help. AMERICA FIRST CREDIT UNION IS THE WORST BANK/CREDIT UNION I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If they come up as an option for a lender for you, do yourself a favor and run. I'd rather deal with a loan shark than this mess. AFCU is the worst.

My Wife has been a Member of the Credit…

My Wife has been a Member of the Credit Union for almost 40 years and I have been a member for about 7 years. The Customer service is Great, the services are wonderful but there is a reason for the three stars. The Bank does not look at me as a person just a credit number. The lending has gotten sparse and the qualifications for loans has gone way up. They have treated us decently through the years but getting a loan is very difficult. Seems they only want to lend to people with 700 plus credit scores. We need this loan to get the Truck we need and the tools to get our business going.

We have banked with AFFCU for over 20…

We have banked with AFFCU for over 20 years now. It's not what it used to be! Although this credit union is the best in the area it still has its shortcomings. New fees have been implemented and our money is not as available as it used to be. We have a cap of $500 cash that can be taken out monthly. If you have medication or other items that need to be paid for with cash this is a HORRIBLE problem!! The credit union's assets are recorded as $14,411,237,777 while its Liabilities are $13,167,464,788 (per their website). Total member equity is $1,243,772,989. So they are showing their liability to their customers but only have a fraction of that available at any given time. I would suggest reading up on what happened to our banking system during the Pan.. and what happened to the FDIC insurance. It used to be that a banking facility needed to have 10% cash reserves for its customers and could invest the other 90%. Apparently, that has changed and financial institutions can use up to 100% of your money to make investments. I don't know if AFFCU is doing this or not, but I do know OUR money has not been available all the times we've needed it to be and things are getting worse.

America's Last Credit Union

The name of this company should be America's LAST credit union. We have a vehicle financed with this company (not by our choice), when my husband called to inquire about making extra payments or payments more than what is due he was told anything extra paid is directed towards principal (mind you every time we have called it's been over a 20-30min wait time). Well, what they said and what they are doing is two different things, what they are doing is taking all the extra money we have been paying and applying it to the interest, not the principal. When he called today, after another 20+min wait time, he was told because he pays more than what is due and sends in extra payments it's automatically applied to interest. When he attempted to explain that is not what he was told by a different representative, the one representative on the phone, rudely interrupted him from speaking and asked him, "Is there anything else I can do for?" What a crock...we are now going to be re-financing our loan with a different company who does things right and applies any additional money paid towards a loan to principal, not interest, a company that doesn't steal our money.

Don't Open a Business Account Here!

This has been the most unbelievably awful experience ever for a business account. I trusted good reviews and went with an account here and OMG what a nightmare. Every representative I speak with gives me inaccurate information about key issues and features. They will not tell you that you can't transfer money out from a business account (what?), link external accounts (what?), wire funds out without going into the branch - they will tell you you can mail a form, but in fact that's not true). There's no Zelle either. You will wait forever for a PIN that must be mailed. In fact, EVERYTHING must be snail-mailed or obtained in person inside a branch. You can't make an appointment, either, because you cannot reach an individual branch since there's no phone or email to do so other than a 1-800 number no one answers. If you DO get a response to a call or email question, it is either irrelevant to what you asked or totally incorrect information. Basically, they've been sitting on a huge amount of funds wired in by my clients that I cannot get out. Nice trick! The online business platform is a relic as well. Totally useless. The only thing I will say positive about this place is that the reps are nice on the phone, just too bad they have no training. I can't close this account fast enough.
