Do not purchase from this company

Do not purchase from this company! My 83 year old father bought an EW-11 scooter by phone, and AQHP did not give him the detailed warranty information before purchase, which is against the law. The electronics failed within 60 days of receipt, and that's when my father found out that the warranty didn't include labor on the electronics. Other companies do cover this, by the way. Now, my father spent $2k on a scooter that the company refuses to fix, even though they made the mistake. We have reported them to the BBB, FTC, and Attorney General's office.

American Quality Health Products does not believe that we violated any FTC regulations or laws. We clearly post all information available to us a seller of the products that we offer (including warranty) information on our website on each product page.
Pertaining to the product in question, EW-46, an EWheels product, it clearly displays a "3 year limited warranty" and there is also a large button that reads Warranty. If this warranty button is clicked it opens a new page which gives you can full details of the warranty

On 7/23/20 Mr. Burkot called us to purchase the EW-46 scooter and it was purchased by Mr. Burkot after an almost ten minute phone call on a recorded line as we state on all incoming calls. At that time the customer was initially asked if he had any questions and he asked if product in stock, when will it ship, does it come fully assembled, how would it be shipped, verified price and shipping cost. At no time during the conversation did he ask or even refer to the warranty. We also informed him that the scooter was on a backorder and expected in around 8/3/20 which he said would be fine. The purchase was paid by credit card and client was pleased with his purchase. On 8/7/20 we were informed that the backorder for the scooter had been pushed to 9/7/20 and immediately we called to inform him. He said that he wasn't happy, but that he would wait. On 9/16/20 scooter was shipped to customer and received on 9/23/20.

On 10/29/20 Mr. Burkot called with an issue stating that the steering locks up and he was unable to make turns. He was referred to E-Wheels ( manufacturer) Technical Support for further assistance. On 10/30/20 AQHP followed up with the client (on a recorded line) and the client stated "I fixed the problem. I took everything apart and what I found was that the big nut on the column (tiller) was completely loose.so I tightened the nut and put it back together and then there was a problem with the speed. So, I looked through the wires and I find one wire was disconnected. I put it back together and it started and it looks like there is no more problem." Customer was repeatedly asked if he still wanted to talk to a technician and he said he was good and everything is working fine.

On 11/2/20 customer called and reported scooter was not riding at full speed and unit was smoking. He was referred to E-Wheels Technical Support. Client called back and said he needed to send a video of the scooter malfunctioning, On 11/5/20 customer sent video which E-Wheels reviewed and reached out to the customer, but was unable to contact him and left a message.

On 11/9/20 customers daughter, Michele Huber, called us to see what was going on with her father's scooter. We answered her questions and explained that E-Wheels had tried to contact her father. She asked for E-Wheels phone number which we provided. About an hour later I received an email from the customers daughter where she stated "Thank you for helping me out with this matter. I'll be working with Terek to get this resolved." At this time it was our understanding that this was going to be handled and resolved by E-Wheels,

In spite of Mr. Burkot opening the scooters wiring , E-Wheels offered to send a technician, parts and shipping of the parts at their expense (Labor is clearly not covered but an exception was made to help the client. Customers daughter felt this was not enough and was demanding a return of the scooter, but our return page (clearly stated on the website) is 14 days which had already passed. We were instructed by E-Wheels to direct all technical and warranty issues to them as the warranty is provided through E-Wheels and not American Quality Health Products.

This solution to send a technician we believe is still being offered by E Wheels as an accommodation to help this client
