Guys were GREAT!!

Guys were very effective, careful with my possessions, willing to answer my questions, and very friendly. I couldn’t have asked for better service.

This company screwed me from the start

This company screwed me from the start, they gave me a price and then once at my home they upped the price, the reason is that they would have to pack my washer and dryer, now the thing is I used to be a mover, and there is not anywhere or any company that have moving boxes for a washer and dryer, but I paid it because I had to get out of my home, then there was the 2 1/2 weeks that it took for my stuff to get there, well when it arrived, the washer and dryer that I had to pay 500 extra to pack, guess what they were damage, scratched and dented, my fridge got dented and my dresser was scratched from the tape, then there is the stolen items, for I had around two grand in tools and they were my way of making extra money for myself, well I guess someone wanted it more than I did, because they took them, yeah that right every single one and this company wanted me to file a claim stating the weight and receipts , they were trying to pay me by weight which means that if they are paying 60 cents a pound and I lose a 400 dollar item that weight 10 pounds, then I would be paid 6 dollars for that item, I did not even want to play that game with them, so with the price change and stolen items and the damage goods made me realize that I should have sold all my stuff and just waited until I got were I was going to buy it all over again, it's been around 6 months now and I am still not over it. My mistake was I thought that this was North America Moving company not American Van Lines, a costly mistake.

Jarvis

Jarvis, Kenny and Tim were great. They were professional, calm and kind. They knew what needed to be done and did it carefully. Very respectful of our belongings! Everything was delivered intact and placed where needed. Their calm demeanor helped us stay calm through the move process and that’s saying a lot. These guys definitely exceeded our expectations!

Did a nice job.

Did a nice job of communicating and keeping in touch throughout the move. Picked up on date given and delivered as promised. Nothing was damaged or lost. Movers were courteous and efficient.

American Van lines will steal your money

American Van lines confirmed my pick up and move date this week. They called me tonight at 6pm EST, (two days before the scheduled move confirmed but them) that the pick up date has been moved up to literally tomorrow morning at 8am. AVL is contracting out people to disassemble my treadmill which was coordinated for tomorrow evening. We also coordinated help to take TV’s off the wall which is now scheduled after the truck is supposed to be here so I cannot move my TV’s. They said the driver is coming in the morning and if we can’t accommodate the new time, we will lose our move spot and deposit. They want signed contracts but won’t call their own customer back. I would not recommend this moving company at all - super shady and unprofessional. If you pay someone thousands of dollars to move across the country go elsewhere

At least everything was delivered.

Toni Hastings did a magnificent job of estimating my cost and helping me prepare. I was however, surprised to learn that a subcontractor not American Van Lines, (AVL) would be moving my goods.
The other agents of AVL to which I was assigned failed: Namely, Sarah (Customer Service) and Sabrina (Quality Assurance). If I was able to speak to them on the phone, they were in too big of a hurry to talk to me.
Cecily however, answered the phone (and returned my call) when I needed AVLs' help. This was because the driver, Maurice (subcontracted by AVL), jack-knifed his truck blocking the road to other homeowners and to my home.
In my initial conversation with Maurice, I told him it was a tricky road, and upon seeing the road in person, he underestimated the capabilities of his equipment. He tried his best and failed.
At the time of the accident, I was en route there, and my fiancé, Janet, was there to receive the delivery. She had to rent a U-Haul for Maurice (which AVL should have done in the first place) so he could bring my goods the last mile to the house. In the long run, the scheduled delivery was 12 hours late, but Maurice got the job done with a U-Haul truck and 2 helpers. Maurice reimbursed Janet for the U-Haul and very kindly accommodated the inconvenience of my not being able to enter the storage facility that night. We did successfully offload the goods at the storage facility the next morning.

Awful experience from beginning to end

I have moved many times across the US with various moving companies and the most recent experience from Colorado to Georgia with yours has been the worst by far. Here are just a few specifics of our experience- 1) drivers were set to show up for pick on a Monday - they showed up Sunday morning, 2) your representative did a virtual walkthrough of items and provided a quote that ended up needing to be modified by thousands of dollars while half of my belongings were already packed 3) no status updates were provided at any time for pickup or delivery 4) my home was damaged in the process and I had to make extensive repairs to a wall the night before closing, 5) the movers were inconsiderate of dirt damage to carpets and used our furniture and belongings, 6) when we called to inquire about drop-off (again no one was keeping us informed) we were told that if delivery couldn’t happen because of the hurricane, that it would occur a week later and beyond the contractually designated date, and 7) when calling in to ask to speak to a supervisor we were consistently told a manager wasn’t available. Awful experience from beginning to end.
