Our 3w Integral LED lamp has a life expectancy of around 15,000 hours which is much longer lasting and more energy efficient than the traditional G9 lamp. The non-dimmable, warm white light bulb has a G9 socket type and is equivalent to 28w of light.

Difficult to review these bulbs because they are too bright, (not apparent from the photo), and they are blinding if you look up at the lights. We could just order a lower wattage, but decided instead to have a dimmer switch installed with dimmable bulbs - this has not yet happened. The trouble is that the LED bulbs are pricy so we’ve wasted some money, but isn’t that often the way when experimenting with bulbs you’ve never had before. But we have realised that different brands of ‘warm white’ are not the same - these DAR non-dimmable bulbs seem to give a yellowy/slightly greenish light on the pale walls and ceiling, whereas the Phillips dimmable bulbs we’ve now put in seem to give a whiter/pinkish light, which seems more natural. We discovered that with a dimmer-compatible light you can use dimmable bulbs without a dimmer switch, albeit they don’t dim, so we can compare the bulbs. But we don’t know whether the colour is different because they are different makes, or because one lot are dimmable and one non-dimmable, or because we’re using dimmable bulbs without a dimmer switch at the moment.
