Taking money, failing to deliver, and refusing refunds.

I ordered the Dusk Rx glasses over two years ago. After endless delays and broken promises on delivery timelines into late 2025, I finally requested a refund. On December 31st, their support team agreed to a full refund. It has now been months, and their "finance team" is perpetually "processing" it. If you look at their communication, it's clear they are just running a script to delay returning customers' money. Do not give this company your money—you will not get the product, and you will have to fight to get your cash back.

Give me my money back already!

I contributed to the kickstarter for Shower Power and was rewarded with a speaker and hydro charger that transformed my shower time. I also got a biodegradable shower pouf that is the best I've ever used. It has since started to degrade so off I went to Ampere to buy a replacement.

I figured I would also buy some of their other wares, for an order totalling AU$147. A week passes and there's no shipping notification.

I send an email asking what the hold up is, and I get a reply four days later promising a follow-up.

Three weeks of no contact later I reach out again, only to be given another promise of a follow-up.

11 days of silence, I reach out again. This time I'm told that two of the items I've ordered are sold out, so they're cancelling the entire order (including the shower poufs) and I should expect a refund in 14 business days.

A month later and there's no refund. I'm told there was a technical issue and they couldn't refund my money. They ask for a paypal account. I give them one.

14 days later, no refund. I reach out again. I'm told they're manually processing refunds and that's causing additional wait time. Another follow-up promised.

Three weeks later, still nothing. I email them again. They promise that my refund has been escalated and that they will personally keep me updated. That was a week ago and I haven't heard back.

Keep in mind that this is for an order placed in OCTOBER. Of 2025. It is now MID MARCH. At this point you can only deduce that they are being this bad on purpose.

GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

Joke of a company

This company has failed to deliver in almost every single aspect of its kickstarter programs from what I have seen.

I have personally supported the DuskRx and have waited 3-4 years for them to deliver on the product. During that timeframe, we have gotten 7 (1 deleted) total updates to this entire project. Meanwhile, their other company chamelo or somethin,g is rolling out products left and right with "influencers" about how great this product is.

DO NOT TRUST this company with your money; they will do nothing but disrespect you, your time, and your trust.

Unprofessional, poor customer service, stole our money!

Unfortunately I have now had multiple poor experiences with this company. I have had to give 2 stars rather than 1 because the first product I bought (Dusk glasses) were fairly innovative and still function well (although connection to the app is flaky and every now and again the app just crashes out and has to be deleted and reinstalled, which is frustrating). Later products purchased (particularly at the cheaper end of the spectrum, e.g. a cable set) were poorly built and broke within a month of having it. Most frustratingly, however, is their customer service which is appalling. Having backed a kickstarter campaign (and recognised the risks of doing so), the company have taken the money, continued to sell other products via their website (including launching new products) but completely failed to deliver now for over two years, with very minimal communication other than public responses to comments stating they would provide an update “soon”, a word which is meaningless when it could mean anything up to 9 months. They also ask people to contact them via email for a resolution (e.g. where responses cannot be seen publicly), and then respond to essentially say there is no resolution which matches the original product the money was given for.
Very frustrating, very unprofessional, avoid at all costs!

Most untrustworthy company

I backed the Kickstarter campaign for Dusk RX in 2023.
They not just failed to deliver anything till today but failed to communicate. Year 2025 saw 1x update without concrete information in it. 2024 2x updates.
Still they keep telling „soon soon soon“
It is an absolute untrustworthy company.
I can only warn everyone to DO NOT BUY anything from Ampere or their Chamelo company. If you ever experience any issue with your product you will be doomed.

After waited 2 to 3 years I asked for a refund, the website refund I have gotten but the add-ons I do not, the person who handles the customer services keeps saying the same copy-paste message for months now, that she send it to the people who are doing refunds but I doubt she does, I think they stole my money, it was over 400 euro, I will never buy here anymore, I also will boycot their other company Chamelo they care more about then Ampere it seems, I might remove this when I get my money back, if I get it back, but I doubt I will

I purchased a pair of glasses from this company over a year ago. Six months ago, I contacted them and was informed there had been a delay. Since then, they have stopped responding to all communications and have refused to issue a refund. The situation appears to be intentionally deceptive and shows no intention of resolution.

bought the original dusk through amazon, ok product but needed more finetuning, also the charging bay was always sold out.
found out about the dusk rx kickstarter and backed 2 pair with all bells and whistles for me and my partner. forward to now, no result, no glasses, no updates, no replies to emails or messages. flat out money down the drain. whish i could give it 0 stars

This is fraud (maybe?)

Bought the Dusk RX via their Website (not via Kickstarter). After a year of no updates I requested to cancel my order through their support. I was offered a few percent off but declined and told them to proceed with the refund instead.
Allegedly, the refunding via PayPal failed and their "finance team" is working "hard" resolving this issue. For 2 whole months now. Even after providing an alternative way to refund, nothing has happened as of yet.
I will most likely have to go the legal route now.

tl;dr: Don't buy from them.

Edit 24.02.2025:
I just recieved the full refund after threatening legal action multiple times by now. Maybe this is not fraud but just a completely disfunctional company.

Backed their Horizon charger in October…

Backed their Horizon charger in October of 2022. Was supposed to be delivered mid 2023. Delay after delay. Still no product and no update to the backers on Indiegogo since January 2024. Do not trust them. They had good service and products in the past but that has since changed. I fear all of us who backed the charger project have been duped and they used our funds to market their new Dusk/Chamelo glasses.

I've waited 2 years but it is time to call it. Ampere's Horizon product on Indiegogo is Scamware. I paid $298 USD back in 2022. Have never received a thing. I can now buy a better product for $40 on Temu. Blatant fraud.

Bought there ampree sunglases rx with all acessories, been about year no real updates, so i try to cancel get refunded, they sent refund for glasses only, waited about 10 days, refund says transaction failed. They said they sent refund for accessories and thin lenses, but I got no way checking on it, never recieved email like last time. And it not pending on credit card. So it looks like they just canceled my order and stole all my money. Would not do buissnes with them.

Horizon 3-in-1 magsafe portable charger campaign on Indiegogo was a total failure. Company refuses to provide refunds, has not provided an update in almost a year. Product was due out in March 2023 and it is now over 21 months late. The product is essentially obsolete anyways. Sometimes things don’t work out but the real issue is that Ampere refuses to update its backers with any real information. They have a bot or uninformed person posting replies to the many disappointed and irate backers telling them updates coming soon. For over 8 months!! Ampere is an untrustworthy business who does not care about its customers. They represent the worst in business practices and should be studied by other companies on exactly what you should not do if you want to build a healthy business.

Even though crowd funding is a risky chance they hyped everyone up for a short period and left us all out to dry. I was a devoted customer till I saw no outcome for the product and now they are using a different name and selling as chemelo.

No communication at all

Enough is enough, almost 12 months or a year now still haven't heard any update or news for my preorder Dusk RX.
This company lack of communication, send them few emails and never reply. I just want to cancel the order and have my money back. My order is #42004, I completely lost my trust to your business.

Firstly, we'd like to address a few points in your review. "No communication at all" - sadly this is false as our team has sent you a total of four emails on 1/25, 5/8, 10/21, and 10/22, keeping you updated on the pre-order status and helping you with a refund. We have answered every email you've sent us and all the evidence is on our ticketing system. We even provided you with a special 15% ($44.85 AUD) discount as compensation in November. Secondly, we did not refund your order without reply to your email and didn't "delete your account". On Oct 21, we refunded you $69 USD on BackerKit (as you requested), canceled the pledge, and refunded you $254.15 AUD which is the remaining amount that you paid for the pre-order. On Oct 22, we emailed you to inform you that the refund for $254.15 failed due to the pre-order being more than a year ago, and PayPal won't allow refunds past 180 days. So we asked you to confirm your PayPal address so that we can send the amount back manually, however you did not reply to our email. In the same email, we also informed you that the $69 which was refunded from BackerKit for the audio upgrade usually takes 5-10 business days to reflect back on your account, and provided you directly with a screenshot showing the amount deducted from our account. So unfortunately, most of the info provided in this review is not only inaccurate but patently and deliberately falsified. Moving forward, we understand how frustrating this situation is but we are definitely willing to continue assisting you until fully resolved. Our team is sending you another email today.
