Terrible service, staff providing false and misleading information

I booked a bus ticket to travel from Comodoro Rivadavia to Rio Gallegos on 24 Jan, 2026. The bus was supposed to depart at 6pm. At 5:18pm, I received a WhatsApp message from the Andesmar Comodoro Rivadavia official number that the bus would be delayed to 7:40pm.

I ended up arriving at the terminal at around 6pm (might be a few minutes after 6, I was not sure about the exact minute of time) and asked the Andesmar ticket office lady whether the bus had delayed to double confirm the information. I used Google Translate to make sure that there was no miscommunication. She said yes. I waited at the terminal for two and a half hours, closely monitoring first, the screen showing departures and arrivals of buses, and second, the exit where passengers board the buses. I have traveled with Andesmar twice before, once from Buenos Aires to Bahia Blanca, and the second time from Bahia Blanca to Puerto Madryn, so I could definitely tell the buses.

At around 8:30pm, I still didn't see my bus, so I asked the police officer for help. She looked at my ticket and told me that the bus had departed at 6 and she also confirmed with another terminal staff. Again, I used Google Translate to ensure that there was no miscommunication. However, by that time the Andesmar office at the terminal was already closed, so I couldn't ask further or book another bus. I left the bus station at around 9pm.

Since I have to get to the next destination, Ushuaia (after Rio Gallegos), on 26 Jan, 2026. I could not afford to delay my journey for another day. So I ended up booking a last minute flight, from Comodoro to Buenos Aires, and transiting from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. I also had to book a hotel room to spend the night. It cost me a total of around 900000 pesos.

The next morning, on 25 Jan 2026, I returned to the terminal and asked the Andesmar office about the situation. They told me that the bus arrived at the terminal at 8:30pm at first. Later, they said 8:10pm. However, I was present and looking at the bus entry area during that whole time (from 6 to 8:30pm) and didn't see one Andesmar bus. The Andesmar office staff provided false and misleading information, and refused to take further action or offer further help.

On Jan 26, 2026, I contact support via WhatsApp and phone call. The WhatsApp service directed me to the phone call, but the line doesn’t work.

Terrible delivery service for Andesmar

Terrible delivery service for Andesmar

I bought a piece online for a replacement part to be sent from the store in Santa Fe to Buenos Aires. They offered this service, but it has been one week already and the product to be sent is still in the store waiting. When asked about it, there is no a proactive response. Never trust this company again

Exceeded expectations

Having read some awful reviews, I was more than a little worried about our 11-hour journey from San Pedro De Atacama to Salta, but the coach was very comfortable, the conductor was helpful, especially at the border, and the bus arrived bang on time - actually two minutes early. There was a toilet and blinds and I was even able to get a croissant and coffee just beyond the border.

Taken for a ride by Andesmar

To start with its necessary to understand that Argentinian bus companies have a complex set of interrelationships some formal and some practical.

I had bought a ticket from Buenos Aires to Mendoza with a subsidiary of Andesmar but mistakenly didn't realise it was from deep into Buenos Aires state not the City itself...thankfully my wonderful hotel staff ( esplendor Wyndham) sorted out to change the ticket from BA main bus station. As a very careful person I arrived early 15. minutes from departure a sigh came up. saying leaving from platform x. I went there and showed the driver my ticket asking him specifically is this th right bus. He said YES. My seat number. did not exist so I went back to him and showed the ticket again. He said sit anywhere. Just as the bus was due to leave I was told by an inspector I was on the wrong bus ( Via Bariloche company) and he threw me off. he would not even allow me to pay to stay. and sort it out later. By that time my bus with Andesmar had gone and I was made to pay for a new ticket. I asked at the desk in Mendoza if I could get a refund and was told no. I had 2 more tickets booked with Andesmar to Chile and back and I could have cancelled them for a small fee but I said maybe they will play fair with me- what's more in Chile I ordered a return ticket from Mendoza n through the Andesmar office even though the journey was delivered by a partner. In Mendoza I noticed an Andesmar bus with a via Bariloche sign in the window--- see they work together. I hd already approached Via Bariloche who said. you didn't buy a ticket with us. nothing to do with us- despite the inspector having told me and witnesses. the driver was new and didn't know what he was doing. I spent hours of my time contacting Andesmar and sending them copies of the ticket numbers. At the end of all this they said to me the first ticket is not ours it belongs to Cata ( their LEGAL partners)......... and I immediately replied saying it was. but it was changed to you. and they have not responded but its clear to me they have no intention of. helping me despite the fact. I have paid them more money on other trips than I want back. I did NOT miss the bus by turning up late their buses were half empty. so its not like they could have. sold my seat on the first bus to someone else. NO wonder I say they took me for a ride. If the company respond by saying please contact us its not good enough they should either agree a refund publicly or deny it publicly.

By the way if you take this 14-15. hour journey be sure to take your own toilet paper with you

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!! We took this bus company once and never will again. My boyfriend had a speaker stolen from his bag during the bus ride, even after our bags were tagged. We tipped the bag loaders both ways, as always, and we discovered his bag was gone through and his speaker was stolen upon our arrival. Everything was moved around, my bag has a lock but it looked like they tried to open it. This was very disappointing as we also found this was the most expensive company we have ridden with in South America. We have never had a problem with any other company. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Very disappointed

We booked tickets 1,5 month in advance and even stayed one day more in Santiago to get front upper seats on the trip from Santiago to Mendoza. Now we are seated in the totally full bus - downstairs with a wall in front of us and the toilets just beside. We went to Santiago just for this busride, so it is a very big disappointment. We complained about it, but they didn’t care at all. We will NEVER use Andesmar again!

Very bad company

They drove us from San Miquel de Tucumán to Mendoza in a broken bus after a crash, they used the same bus. We had to leave our cama seats for semi-cama and didnot get any refund. Also the help after a serious crash was a disaster. No water, no help, no communication, nothing. We had to wait 5 hours and left in the same bus, the ‘made’ it, they said. The security glass was everywhere in the bus while we were driving after the crash. And the Windows downstairs were all open. Because there was no more space upstairs, my husband had to sit near the broken glass. Dont take this company if there are other options.

Most expensive tickets yet stopping everywhere

We paid the most expensive ticket from Santiago de Chile to Bariloche. Back and forth it was late, submitted the wrong passenger list to immigration, causing more delay, and even more stopped at every town and bus stop from Bariloche to Santiago. This is: Osorno, Valdivia, Temuco, Chillan. Even though we we're late it stopped at roads bustop to make more pennies for the company at expense of our time.

Forced to pay twice for ticket

I asked for a ticket to come back from Aconcagua at 430 PM. The lady at the counter even wrote 16:30 to confirm it. She ended up giving me a ticket for 1130 AM. When the bus came to Aconcagua I had to pay again for a ticket because they wouldn't accept the earlier one. I complained at the AndesMar booth and they told me it was my fault or not checking the ticket. Seems ridiculous to me considering the lady flat out told me I was getting a 4:30 PM ticket. So I had to pay twice to come back, something I had no choice in since I was a captive customer at the Aconcagua bus station. Avoid them if possible.

Bus in San Pedro de Atacama

I recently purchased a ticket from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile to Salta, Argentina. The bus was scheduled to leave this morning. However, due to snow and ice in the mountains, all buses have been canceled. I went twice to the bus station in SP de Atacama to try to get a refund and both times the office was closed. I went one day in the afternoon and then the next day in the morning All other bus companies had representatives present EXCEPT Andesmar. There was no telephone number for contact on the door of the office. Only a had written sign that said the border between Chile and Argentina was closed and to wait for updates.
This is not how a reputable company does business. There was no informaiton on my ticket with a local number (only a number in Argentina) and now way for me to find out what I could do. I will be making a formal complaint to the Chilean tourism board (Sernatur), but until then beware of this company. Do not give them your money.

Regarding: Very Serious Complaint

Dear Andesmar Argentina Executive:

Good Morning or Good Afternoon to You!

How is your day today in sunny Godoy Cruz, Mendoza Argentina and/or wherever You are in the World?

My day could be going much better, thank you, except due to the Fact that back on Thursday, December 15, 2016, I took one of your long distance bus rides going from Bahia Blanca, Buenos Aires Argentina to Jujuy, Jujuy Argentina and I did Not have such a good travelling experience!

First of all, the Bus Ride was Supposed to be Executive Service, but according to what I saw, experienced and/or received that was Not The Case!

During the trip, the food that was served was All Sugary Junk Food and definitely Not The Type Of Food That You Would Want To Receive On A Bus.

Even on an airplane, You get Better Food in the Cheapest Seat Possible!

Not Only Was The Food Bad, but There Was No Toilet Paper Available In The Bathroom At All and There Was Also No Soap Available In The Bathroom either!

Is This What You Call Executive Bus Service?

I Would Hope Not, but that was Not The Case During My Andesmar Argentina Experience.

Since I am so angry and upset with Your Service, I am requesting for Half The Money and/or Full Credit To Be Given Back To My Visa Credit Card With Chase Bank for my Inconvenience.

Enclosed, in the attachments, please find copies of Pictures That I Have Taken On Your Bus During My Excursion As Evidence To Show You for your reference and further review.

If You would like to contact me back in order to discuss my letter of Very Serious Complaint in further detail, then please call me on Whatsapp at: 13235142779.

You may also email me back at:
