Great experience. Alexandra really took care of our little dog. Se sent us pictures every day, our dog was always happy. :)

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PETSITTER!!! FRAUD!!!

Summary:
- Animal booking as a company closed down in July 2024 (1 year after trading) due to liquidation. THIS COMPANY IS CLOSED!
- My dog came back from a stay VERY hungry and had bad poop for 3 days (I believe stress related)
- Professional dog sitting service insurance and ACACED certification documents were NOT provided to me despite me asking numerous times (I believe she is not insured or certified to carry out pet sitting services)

I met Alexandra (the owner) on the 2nd January 2026. She came to my home to meet my dog as I was looking for a pet sitter that I could trust, and would look after my little spitz when I needed to travel. When I met her she told me 3 years ago she decided to start a company to look after animals full time - because she loves them so much...

I booked her for a walk on the 8th January. No issues there.
On the 12th January she picked up my dog and was due to bring him back on the 15th.
On the 12th evening I asked he how he was and if he ate. She told me he had eaten half his food. I said it was ok, as he can be picky.

On the 13th she send me some pictures of my dog sat on a blanket, or with his harness on to show he was going on a walk. That evening I had asked for a video (my message came 4 minutes after her message) but she didn't reply. The next day at 10:34 I received a short video of him with a toy in his mouth and then she throws the toy for him to fetch.

On the 15th I told her i would keep her updated on my journey back etc. I sent her a message when I was in the taxi home (the taxi would take around 30 - 40 mins). But she replied saying she would return him 2 hours later. I didn't understand why as she said she lives 15 mins away from me.

When she returned my dog, i was very relived and happy to see him. He ran to me when he saw me and I thought everything was OK.

That evening I gave him food in his bowl (1 full pate packet). He ate the whole thing right away without stopping. I was shocked as he doesn't eat so much and often I have to encourage him. I put a 2nd packet in his bowl and he ate half right away. I messaged Alexandra to ask how much he had eaten that day and for the last days. She said sometimes a tiny amount, and sometimes more.

I was worried that Vasco hadn't eaten whilst in her care, or that perhaps there was a 2nd dog at the home (she says she offers pet sitting for only one dog at a time).
The next 3 days my dogs poop was quite bad in the afternoon (morning and evening was OK). I believe that this was due to stress (he had not eaten anything bad, and it was not a parasite/virus).

I then decided to check more in depth into the company I had made a booking with. I had consulted the services through animal booking website and contacted Alexandra via whatsapp. The emails I received were from animalbooking.com, and the invoices clearly showed the animal booking logo and name.

Also, some of the pictures on the animal booking instagram account are taken from online websites such as pinterest.

Finally, after meeting with Alexandra again I asked her to provide to me the insurance for the pet sitting services at her home, and her ACACED certification.

Both the insurance and ACACED certificate are mandatory in France for her to carry out pet sitting services. She said she would send them to me but she never did. I asked her again through whatsapp and email but I received no reply. I therefore believe she is not insured or certified to look after animals and that she lied about it.

Last point: The Animal Booking website states that there is a 'team' of pet sitters, and that once you state your needs, you will be matched to the right sitter. Alexandra specifically told me she has a team of 5 pet sitters in the local area. When I saw Alexandra, she mentioned her reviews online. In all the trust pilot or google reviews (all 5*) no one apart from Alexandra is mentioned. No other sitter. When I asked her why, she said its because she visits all the clients. I then asked why would the pet sitter not go, instead of her, to meet the animal. She said they do, but they are not employed by her as they have their own organisation and they don't pay her direct. Again, for me this story makes no sense!

I will report Alexandra to the authorities for investigation and I urge anyone who is looking for a petsitter not to use this company.
