Amazing vets!

We had been registered with this practice for about 7 years. We have two cats and four rabbits. Last year we lost our elderly cat, rabbit and dog and we couldn’t have been more supported by the whole team.

Our dog had cancer and they went above and beyond to care for him, frequently reviewing his treatment and seeking advice from an oncologist (which we were not charged for at all). They were there every step of the way, they always managed to fit us in for urgent or emergency or visits within 20 minutes of my call. They were also very good at finding ways to keep the costs as low as possible, which really helped us.
Sadly, despite having the best treatment, the cancer kept advancing and we had to say goodbye just before Christmas. They came to our house and were amazing with him, it made it so much easier and less stressful for him and they were so kind and compassionate to us too, it made such a difference.

Our elderly cat suddenly became unwell last summer, the vet tried so hard to stabilise her condition, but she was too poorly. I will never forget how kind and gentle the vet was with Bumble, she really helped to put her at ease and reassure her.

We have 2 year old cats, they both get very anxious when visiting the vet, Barack was absolutely brilliant with them, he carried out their health checks and gave them their vaccinations without any fuss and has given us advice on how to manage next time. They practice also offered to do a home visit to make it easier too, which was a great idea.

The reception team are lovely; they’re so kind and friendly and always do their best to find suitable appointments that fit around our needs.

We have all of our pets registered with the healthy pet club and I would highly recommend it.

This practice and their practice in Beltinge is absolutely brilliant, everyone is very professional, communication is great, pricing is clear and fair and we have found them to be incredibly supportive, caring and compassionate to our animals and us, we couldn’t ask for more.

I am a bit shocked to be honest

I am a bit shocked to be honest. I signed my cat up earlier this month. The actual vets did their best to handle a very scared boy who did not want to be there. As I left I checked if I needed to pay anything more than day having set up the direct debit. I was told no.

This week I receive some very odd emails telling me I have more to pay this month and should have done so before leaving the surgery. I responded and had no response to two emails.

In the end I called and they explained they should have charged me again that day. I think I am going to be leaving as this has left me feeling very unwelcome and accused.

Vets with sales targets ?

Same problem as other reviewers. Prescription amounts halved so you have to take pet back more frequently than they state on their website. No warning was given that this was going to happen. I only found out when I tried to reorder through an online vet. They are doing this purely to maximise profits, and they wonder why so many pets get given to RSPCA. Mine is a rescue, desperately trying to do the right thing by him in his old age. Animed withholding meds from me that they prescribed for him in the first place. Will be transferring to another vet. I'm pretty sure they have sales targets now.

Rachel saved my pony from going in for surgery from a form of colic

My pony went down with a form of colic I was extremely worried and thought that was it, my vet Rachel arrived and put me at ease by talking me through everything.

I was super impressed by the knowledge that she retained and was certain on what was wrong right away.
She has given my mare pain relief and a liquid rinse almost and my mare is now 12hours off of medication and she is pretty much back to normal.

My mare when I arrived when it all happened was in a terrible way laying, rolling and restless she is now up beat happy and ready to eat which she didn’t want to eat which really isn’t like her she’s a chunky mare.

Thank you to Rachel for making this all run smoothly and reassuring me in all hours of the day and night I do not know what I’d done without her.

Totally disappointed in this practice.

Totally disappointed in this practice.. first visit , with my large dog with an infected mammory .. charged £216 for ten minutes with a young vet .. looked online antibiotics are £1.98 per tablet charged £140 😡sold a tiny bottle of anti inflammatory ( more suitable for a cat size .. run out of both meds and infection still prevalent, called up three times over last week and promised a call back which didn't happen ( no duty of care to my dog at all ) when I asked for a repeat prescription ( so I can buy meds online cheaper ) was promptly fobbed off and advised I should come in for yet another consultation for the same complaint ? No wonder vets get a bad name .. I don't have an endless supply of funds and was trying to do the best thing by my dog but clearly it's all about the money .. so I shall find another vet that is far more interested in helping my treasured pet .. out of interest I've asked the community for recommendations and not one person has recommended you guys .. do better !!😡

On the equine side they are perfect and…

On the equine side they are perfect and would give 5*
On small pet side I was very disappointed this evening. I admit was 13 min late due to incident on motorway which made traffic horrendous. A lady who was there with a cat had the same problem.
Apart from her there was no one else in waiting room.
Was told I had to reschedule after it took me over half an hr to get there. Was told they had an emergency coming in and the Nurse could not see me. It was a 6 mth check up not a vet appt.
I waited in the car park for half an hour and no emergency turned up. One man with a dog who was happily walking in.
Clearly just didn't want to be accommodating today!

No response from phone or email . Poor service .

I have had 2 awful bad experiences with this company. I ordered much needed medication for my dog and paid for it. It never arrived on my account it said it was being processed. 11 days after the order was placed they said the prescription was out of date . It said 18th Jan 2025 I sent it on 19th the following day which was a Saturday. If they strictly adhere to the rules about being 1 day out of date -that’s ok at least I know . But really was disappointing during the 11 days which I waited for the script I was unable to contact anyone no one answered the phone nor answered emails . I assumed everything was ok as it said on my account it was being processed. But sadly it was the case and 11 days after I placed the order I got an email to say my prescription was out of date .
No one to speak to no one answering the phone - customer service very very poor . I urged people not to use them . And they are expensive !

Kind and professional in an emergency.

In an emergency the team were kind, calm and professional. The vet, Sonia, made a diagnosis, produced a costed treatment plan and kept our dog in for the day. They did all the neccesary tests and an ultrasound. They got our dog back on her feet by teatime and we were able to take her home, with special food and medication for the next few days. We are extremely grateful and would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good vet.

Very expensive vet

This vet is a rip off don't use it!
They charged us 148 pounds to euthanize a really upset young person's cat that had cancer.
We got no box for the body to take it home to bury in the garden. Not even a paper hanky was offered to wipe away our tears.
"Extra" to "dispose of the body".
