Money lost to Pre-order

Only item I ever bought from them (thankfully).
Pre-ordered my 1st statue on Animegami, but after waiting a while I started getting e-mails saying that the item is delayed. After almost 2 years waiting & e-mailing to get my money back, the website shut down & I never did get a response or refund >:|

You will never know how bad they were.

You will never know how bad they really were.
There was always delays with everything I ordered and the only response I would receive was "there is a problem with are suppliers but we will ship it as soon as possible". They also overcharged me for products and lose items too. Horrible experience I just wish i cancel orders before they went out of business.

0 star if I can

0 star if I can, closed the business without notifying customers and took everyone’s money. Luckily I was refunded by Lloyds Bank this morning for over £700, using a debit card. I would advise everyone contact their banks asap to start a dispute claim, do not wait!

So I ordered an item that is suppose to…

So I ordered an item that is suppose to be released late next year, since they have gone into insolvency and everyone notes how they get no responses or update or anything, I filed a charge back with my bank, and today I got a text from my bank saying that the merchant (animegami) says that the charge is correct, how is it correct when you don't respond to anything, don't give any updates, not even notifying people that you've gone into insolvency (I found out about this 1-2 weeks after the 15th August), and STILL have not shipped any of my items from few months back and have the guts to say a charge for an item to be release late next year is correct, they are really trying hard to seem as scummy as possible and trying to keep any money where ever possible.

It pays to use a credit card

It's too late now to warn others about this site but those who pre-ordered like me and used their credit card, file a dispute citing Section 75 since you have 6 yrs to do so (unlike debit cards which only give you 120 days to file a chargeback and are under your bank's discretion).

My pre-order was made on Feb this year and was meant to receive it by August. I've disputed this today with Amex. Within 2 hours, it was resolved. The adjusted amount will be available on the next statement.

Lesson learned for me to always use a credit card when buying stuff over £100 to get the Section 75 protection. I was going to use Paypal as I didn't know anything about this rule. Glad I've listened to my wife. Such a relief for me!

Disappointed

I haven't received an email or anything about my order. All I've been told that it was going to be delayed and I haven't heard anything off them since. I don't know how to get my money back or how to email regarding this, cause there site is down at the moment. I wasn't expecting this at all being as though I bought off them before, and the figure came straight away. Now I've ordered a second figure and heard nothing at all and I've emailed them so many times where my order is. It's quite disappointing that I'm now still waiting for it and I've been waiting now since November 2022. I just want some answers now on what's going on cause its not just me waiting on an order from them, It's other customers as well. Such a shame. I don't think I'm going to order online until I definitely know that I can have the figure

Too late for me, but still worth denouncing

Perhaps it is too late for this to save anybody, but I believe it is still worth saying.

In a nutshell, same that has been described by recent reviews: I purchased from them, there was an initial delay of two months through which I patiently waited to then inquiry about the whereabouts of my figurine, emailing them.
Got told there were logistic problems which caused the delay, which was then replicated in their website, and that I should get the item delivered by (this is the worst part) Mid-August.
I waited again and to avoid worrying unnecessarily and in good faith did not think about any of this until September 1st to then find out they put on their website the message saying the were heading to bankruptcy on August 15th. Mid-August! How does that not feel orchestrated on purpose?
They never got back to me after i sent them yet another email and I don't think they ever will. Felt like an absolute conscious scam, honestly.

The long story:

I never really got into this thing of figurines and model kits, most likely because good ones seem to be really limited and pricey. However, when it was announced that Bandai was releasing one to commemorate 50 years of Mazinger, making a revised and detailed one, really matching the animated series vibe, I felt I could allow myself going for one, at least once and as a first experience.

I thought about placing my order on January 14 2023, knowing this figure had been released the previous December.
A friend recommended a copule of websites that were reliable but they had stopped the orders after reaching initial quota.
After checking options, and seeing pretty much prices were the almost identical everywhere, I opted for Animegami. I came here to check reviews and all the negative ones where due to a delay of months after finally fulfilling delivery and that having an impact on birthday giftees. As understandable as that frustration could be, I had heard of a friend waiting 1 year before Neka itself completed a shipping, hence the waiting was not a matter of concern as long as I got the Mazinger I was purchasing. Complains about damaged boxes was not preoccupying to me either, since I had no intention of making a collectible out of it. It was for me.
They had a 10% discount and though the delivery date seemed a bit optimistic (mid-February), I imagined they had a few already or, worse case scenario, it was just used a hook, but nothing else since there were no complains about unfulfilled orders.

I placed my order and got just an email with the purchase confirmation. I used the discount, paid in full to avoid delays, and remained a happy camper, excited about the chance to randomly find the package home, eventually.

March the 8th I thought that, in spite of my assumptions, I might check on them to then get the actual delivery date. Wrote to Animegami with the order details, and got a reply by agent João Oliveira on the 13th stating they got delays due to the high volume of orders (which anyways did not deter them from further offering figures and sets to be pre-ordered with almost daily newsletters and promotional prices).
João tells me the shipping will happen MID-AUGUST.
I get no option offered for any potential refunds, but the same explanation appeared on a header in their website, making it easier to believe this was affecting all orders.

I still found their alleged efforts of promptly delivering. the items credible and the excuses sensible, so I decided to wait until said date. I was going to be out for a for-night, so I was fine with waiting until the beginning of September.
But once back home there was no parcel waiting for me, no updates, no apologies.

More annoyed than worried, I decided to write back to them, but first headed to check for any communications on their website. And that was when I saw the message they published claiming they are in dire straits, filling in for insolvency. Dated 15 August, 2023. Dated mid-August, as in João's email.

I came here immediately only to find loads of comments by people who were exactly in the same predicament.
I felt angered, powerless, blaming myself for getting involved in things I had no experience in, and realising it was too late to order the only figure I wanted anywhere else, and I lost my hard earned money.

And that was not all: even though I wanted to buy their side of the story, as business can sometimes go wrong, and that's called bad luck. But what do you call advertising products till April, taking orders from new customers until July and denying former ones refund of ignoring their requests to then fill in for bankruptcy (allegedly) on August? I'll let you answer that question.

I wrote back to them a final time, but of course, up until now, there has been no answer. Shame on you, Animegami!

Scammers, I want my money back

I've been wainting since the 29 november 2020 for my Nargacuga figurine and it never came. Every year I send an email to get updates, everytime they say "it's delayed we are sorry blablabla".

I've completely forgotten this until today where I see on their dead website that the shop is dead and I will never see my money back.

Good job, scammers, you got me.
Terrible company, I've never had ANY news about my products, I had to send an email each time to get any informations.

But to send me emails about lots of other figurines they made (or not, I don't know really because they are scammers) they were on time !!!

Orders AGEU2984 AGEU3572 AGEU3049

I'm waiting for two orders that never arrived. One was done in March and the other in May. The website is down and they never responded to my emails again. I don't even have a tracking number for the orders I placed nor do I know if I can get any type of refund on the orders.

Scam

Ordered a figure well over a year ago, seems they took the money and ran.
Responded to emails initially stating delays etc but then stopped responding all together.
Shame because I'd ordered and recieved a nendoroid prior in a timely fashion.
Head they're going out of business now - good.

Lesson learned

Only reason I trusted them was because I saw the ad for their monster hunter ancient forest set shared by an official Capcom account, which I took as a sign of credibility. I pre-ordered the nargacuga from that set in December 2020 and waited. I got regular updates on why it was delayed in the beginning, so I felt somewhat reassured that it was gonna come eventually and I kinda forgot about it. Now it's been like 3 years since I placed that order and I still don't have a nargacuga, and their whole company is gone. From now on I'll be double checking the store I'm buying from, even if they're supported by a larger well known game company.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would! Pre-ordered an item in December 2021 due February 2022. I had a couple of updates from customer services saying there was a delay in manufacture. For a long time now there has been no update, no response to enquiries etc SILENCE. Zero chance of getting a refund or the product paid for in full! Robbed. AVOID!

ZERO notification of insolvency, zero attempt to make contact, refund etc.
