Anne Frank House Reviews 

I will express my own opinion about the Anne Frank Museum and leave the rest to you. Only you can decide where more of her “blueprint” remains: in the house, or in the diary written by her beautiful, pure self.

Anne Frank was an incredible soul in human form during a time of war. She was a loving, kind and ambitious young woman, well ahead of her time. She was, and still is to this day, an inspiration to people who are willing to perceive the world and people in the same way.

I have seen her hiding place, and I can assure those who, like me, are inspired by her story, that this place will only disappoint you. There is almost nothing to look at apart from bare walls and a couple of small photographs. The kitchen, where all of them gathered together in anticipation of the end of the war, listening to the radio and having the conversations that kept them going, is gone and even repainted.

You might as well look it up online and see more there than in the actual place. I am not talking about money; in the end, that is your choice. I am talking about the memories they had in those times: the furniture, Anne’s desk where she wrote her diary, the attic where she spent so much time dreaming about freedom. These were precious and necessary to them. Why they were removed, I cannot understand, and I suppose only her father knew that.

So think twice about where you invest your precious time and money: the almost empty apartment, or her diary. I choose her diary, her beautiful expression within it, her soul. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

There is nothing left! Nothing original to see! A few years ago you could walk through original rooms, now they've taken everything out so you won't see anything and although they show you plans of where you might be in the annexe you walk through newly painted and wallpapered rooms with nothing original!
Don't waste your money!

I have booked the tickets and got them on the e mail next day. The company was ready to help me in any problems with the tickets. We entered on time and saw really different museum full of fear and humans tragedy.

Scam they do sponsored marketing to that it’s the Anne frank house but it has no affiliation. They would not refund money either after you find out at the door for your scheduled time at Anne Frank house.

Worst ticketing system I’ve ever seen. Loaded up the website at exactly 10:00 on Tuesday when the tickets became available to buy tickets for family who are visiting in April. We initially managed to select tickets, but the payment page never loaded and the shopping cart still showed “zero items”. Tried refreshing and it kicks you back to ticket selection. I did this a few times and each time could see the other slots filling up. A few times the site just wouldn’t load at all. Eventually waited with one set of selected tickets for more than an hour (!) but still no way to complete the purchase. Taking over an hour of energy and effort with nothing to show for it and zero guidance or additional information about e.g. the queuing and shopping cart status is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been to the museum in the past and it was interesting, but it is not worth this level of frustration. You can rather just read about the history of Anne Frank on your own time.

I had thought my booking experience was a one-off and I was just being treated badly by the museum. Based on other reviews I wanted to include the 30min introductory presentation ahead of the actual visit. I bought tickets on their official website but then discovered that they didn't include the introductory talk. Further down the page there is another option to buy the combined ticket. I immediately emailed the museum asking whether I could pay the extra to add on the introductory talk or failing that, cancel the tickets with a refund and I would rebook. I was told this was not possible and the only option available to me was to rebook new, combined tickets without a refund of the originals.

Having now read other reviews I would agree with the comments that the museum appears to be only interested in income generation and isn't interested in the customer experience. The reviews also suggest the museum is empty, lacks information and is a series of empty rooms. My wife and I are now uncertain whether to even make the visit to the museum based on other experiences. Based on my experience to date I would not advise anyone to part with their money and instead experience all the other tourist attractions that Amsterdam has to offer.

PS - I gave the museum the opportunity to put the matter right before making this post, indicating that I would share my experience with others. I never received a reply.

Their focus on education, health, and social services makes them a holistic organization that addresses the root causes of poverty. I recently visited their youth mentorship program, and it was heartwarming to see the positive relationships being built between mentors and mentees.

The energy in the room was palpable as young people engaged in discussions about their aspirations and challenges. The mentors were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in the success of their mentees.

I appreciate the organization’s commitment to transparency and community involvement. They regularly share updates and success stories with their supporters, allowing us to see the direct impact of our contributions. Their dedication to uplifting individuals and communities is truly inspiring!

We were excited to finally get tickets after always being sold out. I honestly would NOT recommend, really disappointing- the experience consists of standing in a long line of people, waiting to walk into bare rooms with a couple of quotes painted on the walls accompanied by minimal photographs and ‘mini’ films. I can totally understand why you can’t take any photos of the experience as you go around, there is literally nothing to take photographs of. We were fortunate to see a sink and a book case, save your money visit IKEA.

Entire house showing empty rooms devoid of any furnishings and atmosphere. Just a few pictures and a paragraph on the wall of each room explaining what it was used for. Far too many visitors allowed in at once. Too many with ruck sacks and big bags which got well in the way. Many took advantage of the audio tours which was annoying because all you could hear was the mechanical mumblings of many languages all at once.
The gift shop is just a book e. Terribly disappointed. Just a licence to print money. Save your money.

Since I was twelve I have always had a thing for Anne
Frank and have been to her house three times, the
Last time in 1993. I wrote a song on her,performed it
and Met Eva Schloss Anne’s posthumous stepsister.
The House is a charity and does keep up with the
times although I am glad I went when I did I do feel
a lift could be there for disabled, which I now am. It
is not good for those wanting a refund, as tickets on
Line. I still think it is good to be there.I also feel that Anne herself would want everyone to go. But I won’t get again. Pity you have to have a private tour, or celebrity, to see the attic.also a pity Trustpilot does not translate reviews like Amazon does.

Our holiday has just been cancelled but greedy Anne frank museum does not do refunds total con merchants

We had booked tickets through their homepage which is the only way to do it, but due to a death in our family we had to postpone the visit, but not possible.
Since we had booked tickets on their website we could not postpone or get a refund for the already bought but not used ticket, because its according the regulation.

Anne Frank House has nothing with human to do but is just a money machine based on a tragedy.
