I purchased a brand-new Garmin Forerunner 970 from Anton Sport. From day one, I experienced serious issues with the heart rate sensor – it would constantly drop in and out throughout the day. I filed a warranty claim quickly and returned the watch along with the original Garmin packaging.
Despite clearly stating that I wanted a refund and to return the product, Anton Sport ignored this and sent the watch back to me weeks later:
• The watch was returned dirty, even though I had sent it in completely clean and unused
• The original packaging was missing
• It was poorly wrapped in a bit of bubble wrap
• They claimed they “found no issue” with the product, despite the obvious and repeated problems I experienced
To make matters worse, I have still not received a refund, even though I clearly requested one and rejected receiving the product back.
This is simply unacceptable handling of a legitimate warranty case. The lack of responsibility, communication, and basic respect for the customer is shocking – especially when dealing with high-end products at this price level.
I strongly advise against shopping at Anton Sport. If something goes wrong, don’t expect help or accountability – even when you’re fully in your rights as a customer.
