Good value and excellent support

I bought an AOOSTAR WTR PRO 5825U in November 2024 and use it as my main homelab server without any issues whatsoever. Then, around January 2026 (just after the warranty expired), it started to freeze randomly.
At first it all pointed to a hardware failure with the SATA board, so I contacted support through their website chat and asked if they sold the part separately. They promptly sent a replacement part free of charge. After watching their official assembly video on youtube I was able to install the new board. Unfortunately after 1 week it started to freeze again.
I went to their support again, explained everything I had tried, and was able to convince them it was very likely a motherboard failure. They offered to repair it free of charge if I covered the shipping costs. I thought that was fair and, since the alternative was to keep a very expensive brick around, I paid the shipping fee. They arranged a pick-up and I only had to print some labels and hand the package to the courier.
From the day I first contacted them, the whole process took about 6 weeks (includes multiple shipping between China and EU and the time it took to learn that the replacement board didn't fix the initial issue) but, in the end, I received a brand new replacement unit rather than a repaired one. AOOSTAR's support was excellent throughout (thank you, Joyce Lee) and I would most definitely recommend them.

How is it possible that a computer company exists with such a bad product support. I forgot to check trustpilot before I bought this MINI-PC. DO NOT BUY HERE. They do not take you seriously. I just bought a GEM 12 plus computer, but it has a serious disturbing sound on the headphones/audio out. I try to communicate with them, but they just don't answer your question. I want to send it back, but I red in another review that they do not even refund you. The contact information of the warehouse in Germany is fake, so is the mentioned phone number for contact or service. Another buyer sent his computer back because it had a defect after 8 months, never heard something from them. I spend 489 dollars last week and for now I'm on my own, there is a lot of room for improvement in contact and service for them, hope they pick it up. I regret buying at AOOSTAR.

Abysmal Customer Service, avoid like plague

I should have paid attention to the four negative ratings for Aoostar before purchasing. Their customer service is appalling, and I strongly advise choosing other mini PC manufacturers if you value any form of product support.

I placed an order for a mini PC with a one-month fulfillment timeline, which seemed reasonable. However, when I attempted to cancel within 24 hours of ordering—with the product still a month away from shipping—they charged me a 5% handling fee. What handling could possibly justify this fee when nothing has been processed yet?

To make matters worse, the customer service representative was rude and condescending throughout the interaction. I consider myself fortunate to escape with only a 5% penalty for dealing with this company. I'll happily take my business to a more reputable manufacturer.

One of the worst Chinese companies I've...

One of the worst Chinese companies I've ever dealt with. Support is abysmal. They also charge a 5% fee not only for returning a product, which can be understandable but FOR CANCELING an ORDER that was just placed. Crazy. If you're even lucky enough to get ahold of support, good luck. They don't seem to care at all that people actually paid money for their products...

Shady Chinese company

Shady Chinese company. I've returned my item and it has been way too long since their so-called "processing" which is just an excuse to make you exceed the 30 days buyer protectection of PayPal. Now I'm out my money and got nothing for it even though it was returned withing 30 days. Refund policy my ass.
