Regrettably a former client

So The Center got my review deleted. Again. I refuse to share my name because I want it to be anonymous, and they DO NOT vet any positive glowing reviews, only the reviews they don’t like. Because they think the center can do no wrong. Well let’s try this again. I had a horrific experience here because I came here as an atheist. I specifically told them I have religious trauma and they specifically told me they do the same therapy as secular therapy places like recovery from religion and the secular therapy project. They promised their worldview wasn’t about god. Why did an atheist come here you ask? Because they offered me free treatment, and I was so sick with bulimia that I took it. They think I’m a fake troll, so let’s name drop shall we? (They made me delete the names) were my CDIOP therapists, and (name deleted) liked to tell us that “when you make plans, god laughs” and that we all had a plan for our lives mapped out by her lord. (Names of therapists deleted) liked to tell me that “you can’t do this eating disorder recovery without Jesus”. They didn’t like my career and told me that if I stayed in my career I would always have ED. So I quite my career and moved all the way across the country. After taking their advice, my life spiraled out of control for the next 6 years. I was NEVER able to get back the career that I loved. And STILL had ED, even though I followed their advice and quit. I lived in the house right across from the center, they have 3 donated houses. They kicked out many of the other clients for not “complying” to the demands and rules. I thought it was sad. Anyway, I can keep going on and on and on about how awful it is that in America, rehabs are allowed to bring magic Bronze Age sky daddy dogma into science. And how dangerous it is to take advice from mental health professionals who think our lives are controlled by imaginary lords. This really ruined me. What a shame.

The Center A Place of Hope

The Center A Place of Hope,

Dr. Jantz has really created a gem way up here in the upper left. The program itself is very helpful, the holistic approach is brilliant. It’s the people though, the group of professionals that operate this great place on a daily basis are what makes The Center such a wonderful experience.

Complete Failure

My husband is currently in another treatment facility because this place completely failed him. He confessed he drank the entire time he was there. He had too much freedom to come and go as he pleased in the evenings and on weekends. He obviously was not tested regularly for alcohol consumption. Very disappointed.

My hope crushed :(

I’ll keep it brief because as you probably know having a mental illness makes it hard to articulate and remember things. I wish I was able to say more of the could and the bad... Been here three times and I did get a lot of good amount of information out of it however I didn’t feel like there was any consistency when in came to some things even with how I was being treated, and to make matters worse I was put on medication that I didn’t even need to be on which caused way more problems and when I spoke up nothing was done. Four weeks of having a hard time and for some of it, it was all in my head which in reality is partially true but there could have been something done to make things easier!! I have a love hate relationship here and I think this place just isn’t for everyone. In my experience it’s not easy to do it here but I strongly encourage you to advocate for yourself however as a person who’s been dealing with her mental health for four years also spend time trusting the process and trying new things. They didn’t make me better but they also didn’t make me worse.

Hope

The place was great. I would recommend it to anyone. The only disappointment I had was that I was so far away from the gym. They need to do something for the Hope house to make the gym more accessible.

I came to The Center looking for…

I came to The Center looking for answers four weeks ago. After arriving at the Center, and after confessing my hesitancy to trust people in general, I was asked by my Counselor, “Why do you trust me, then?” My answer was, “I believe that most organizations take on the characteristics of their Founder or President. I have observed that Dr. Jantz, a man of faith and prayer, has been devoted to his clients, supporting them through writing books and articles, and as a Clinician for decades. So, based upon that, I chose to come to The Center, and trust my gut." My experience has exceeded my hopes. I observed that the Counselors work together as a team, committed to each client’s whole life care. Clients' teams meet weekly, and sometimes more often, to discuss how each person is doing, and upon reevaluation, often update the schedule. This is to make certain anticipated and newly discovered needs - medical, nutritional, emotional, even spiritual - if requested - are being met. When I say team, I believe I mean more like a family. That’s what the Center feels like, folks committed to the Whole Person. The Staff - from the Admissions Team to the Front Desk to the Counselors - are upbeat, authentic, and share from their own experience. Not once did I feel talked down to, or patronized. As far as the care clients receive, all I can do is compare it to, well…believe it or not….a Cruise. Each week, housekeeping comes into the Center and, if you’ve had the good fortune to vacation on a Cruise Ship, you may remember the little towel animals that housekeeping made and left on the bed. Not quite the little Cruise bundles, but it is pleasant to come back to a neat bundle of clean white linens, freshly made beds and sparkly clean accommodations. Lunch served is gourmet, no less, professionally made. Plied with fresh fruit each day, no one can complain about going hungry or not eating healthy. The setting is amazing. Perched on the side of a gentle hill, there are stores and restaurants, not to mention the Ferry System to embark upon. Oh yes, did I mention the Gym, Whirlpool, and Pool? Steam Room…..free access to all clients? Among Clients, an air of camaraderie prevails. I'm a bit on the shy side in groups, but this is what you want to make of it. I’m leaving the Center, equipped with tools, more self-aware, and feel heard, understood, and well-advised. The responsibility for the rest is up to me, and I have Hope….which is more than I felt when I arrived...

My experience at The Center was beyond what I expected. Not only is the staff supportive and welcoming, the other clients made me feel welcomed and safe. The program taught me skills to cope with certain situations and taught me a new, healthier way of thinking that I will continue to build. Leaving here, I'm taking with me a heightened sense of self confidence, more motivation to keep progressing, and a stronger relationship with God. I"m excited to go home because I'm excited to work towards my future, which is something I have not been able to say in a very long time. I couldn't be more thankful for everyone here at The Center, they are fantastic at what they do.

Most Important Month of My Life

I came to The Center with no hope, a failing marriage and career, and no end in sight to my depression. Not only did I get answers to my many questions about past diagnosis', but my diagnosis was corrected almost immediately. The community of staff and fellow clients was absolutely incredible. I never imagined a place so positive, caring, empathetic, and filled with Hope. After just 4 weeks, my depression is gone, I have clear purpose for my life, my marriage is back on track, and I feel human for the first time in 3 decades. This was the best choice I have ever made regarding my health, and I will recommend it to anyone who finds themself lost, suffering and without hope. There is simply no way you could regret investing time into the program at The Center. There is Hope for you!

Amazing Whole Person Care

While I have not been a client of The Center, I have had the privilege of getting to know the team there and am so very impressed with their implementation of true whole person care. Our bodies are complex and have a remarkable ability to heal. Our brain and body is also “whole” or “connected” which requires the “whole” to be considered even when a health challenge might seem very specific. And this is what is so special about The Center. The team is made up with a unique variety of doctors and professionals to care for all of you.

I am the founder of Redd Remedies, an herbal supplement manufacture. We specialize in formulas to solve specific health challenges. When I met Dr. Jantz at a retreat and learned of the work they were doing we both decided that we need for formulate some natural supplements to help the clients at The Center. These formulas are now being used as part of The Centers programs.

So on September 25th I got an email…

So on September 25th I got an email saying that my review was flagged and had to be edited because the center didn’t like what I said. I wrote that I went here years ago and stayed over 3 months. I had a therapist I worked with who also worked with my best friend at the time to help out problems out... well you see, when I said that she told me at the end of my treatment that I would never recover truly from my eating disorder until I accepted Jesus into my heart, I told her I really didn’t think it made sense that 7.5 billion people could have their own real gods and for them to all exist at the same time and all their rules to be valid but she told me that this was the way. And in all the books dr. Jantz writes that they sell at the center, especially the one called happy for the rest of your life, it says in the end that god is the answer. So I wrote her name down in my review, and they responded with a claim that she never worked there or anyone by that name doesn’t work there. However, that’s a lie because she’s cutrently on google i took a screen shot it’s currently there you can find her! They didn’t have a doctor there, but had a Naturopath who for 3 months insisted that my swollen stomach was due to a weak lower belly muscle and I should do abs, and gave me probiotics, later I found out after seeing a real hospital that I had problems with my intestines. It was hell. Be really careful when you come here, I know the mental health business is booming right now, and if you have a problem with anything it’s because you must be “sick in the head” everybody and their mama is going to therapists nowadays but please do your research and only come here if you are devout Jesus worshipper

Please read this if you are considering The Center

Please read this if you are considering going to The Center!
I went to The Center last year for 4 weeks. At the end of the 4 weeks, I decided to stay on for 2 additions weeks to continue growing and learning the new skills. I was there for a total of 6 weeks.
I arrived in the middle of August, 2017. I didn't know what to expect. On my first day, as I was getting out of my car, I met a 6'8" guy who was also unloading his bags. Together we walked inside, went through the orientation, and began our journey. Today, that guy is one of my closest friends.

On the first day I attended a men's class. I was comforted to meet men who were surgeons, business owners, former college athletes, engineers, salesmen, etc. During our first class the guys opened up, but only if they wanted to, and shared their struggles. I was so comforted to find men who were "highly successful" in the eyes of the world, but who had real struggles just like me.
My roommate turned out to be a surgeon. We had a good time getting to know each other and going through the Center together. We shared things we were learning and became good friends.

During my time at the center I learned a lot of helpful tools. I learned about a thought record/feelings journal...I have used that tool for 17 months now and it has significantly helped me. It has helped me grieve out my pain and slowly change my thoughts.
I also learned about "living in the moment without judgement"...something I had never heard before. This has proven to be a great tool in reducing anxiety in my life.
I left the Center with two 3-ring binder filled with helpful tools.

Everyone who goes to the Center is given a team of professionals that are selected to meet your individuals goals and needs.
My team consisted of:
-A nurse practioner - she helped me move me over to a better medication (I'm on this medication today and it's much better than the medication I was on). She also led me to a number of supplements that I have remained on until this day. My body must have needed them because they have helped me feel better. I even lost weight.
-A dietician - who helped me learn to cook better foods. Something I have continued till this day.
-3 therapists (one primary and two secondary) - they listened to me, understood me, and processed my issues with me. I have remained in contact with two of those therapists to this day (17 months later.)
-a physical exercise coach, like a physical therapist (I think this was optional)
-plus many other groups.
-I also given a sleep study, blood work, and acupuncture.

Overall, the my team was very good. They worked together to figure out what I was dealing with and the best treatment to help me.

My life has changed dramatically since my first day at the center. I'm not "fixed" or "perfect" but I have grieved out a lot of my pain, slowly changed my thinking, started cooking and eating better, lost weight, made new friends, reduced my anxiety, etc.

In addition, the surgeon, myself, the 6'8" guy and two others have become good friends. We are in a text group and connect regularly. We have met in Texas twice over the last 17 months to strengthen our friendship (one of the guys has a lakehouse in Texas.) We have already planned our third trip, set for April 2019.

I know that different people experience different things. While I was there, 20-25 others were there too. Our group of guys, who were all loving it, saw some individuals that were frustrated with things. We felt sorry to hear about their frustrations. But the vast majority of people who we saw there loved it. Every week, during the goodbye ceremony, those that were leaving shared how the center had changed their lives. Often they were in tears, thankful for their new friendships, tools, and healing.

Again, during my 6 weeks I saw a few people who didn't like it (or it wasn't meeting their needs) but 95-97% loved it and were glad to be there.

I say that because sometime those who loved it don't always fill out these reviews. While those that don't like it, often do. I'm not judging anyone who fills out a negative review. I don't know what they experienced, but I can tell you the truth of what I saw during my 6 weeks of being there.

I would highly recommend anyone who is considering it to GO TO THE CENTER.

Btw...I have a friend (not the ones mentioned above) who went to the center while I wasn't there. And he had the same positive life-changing experience I did. He loved it.

In the lowest point of my life Dr

In the lowest point of my life Dr. Jantz and his entire team welcomed me with open arms. From the initial phone call to discharge I was cared for all along the way. It was such a wonderful experience that there was part of me that didn't want to leave. The care, community and hope that exist there is a product of their love for the clients. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Center to anyone who is struggling. I without reservation or hesitation recommend The Center.

Cooking with clients at The Center

Dr. Jantz invited me to come and teach cooking classes at The Center for clients. Working with the clients is a highlight of the week. The staff, therapists, & clients are engaging along with being helpful.
Each week clients come to a spectacular kitchen and we work as a team to create balanced meals. One of the important parts of the evening is sitting together to enjoy a meal with no devices. Table conversations involve daily activities, the recipe, and many clients are surprised they cooked.
My platform as a nutritionist is showing that a balanced meal can be fun, simple, and relaxing.
