⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Unacceptable Service

I came into this bank on January 30th and there was only ONE teller working while the line kept getting longer. If I hadn’t said something, everyone would’ve just kept standing there waiting. The manager eventually came out to “help,” but instead of properly assisting, she stood there passing money from other customers to the teller while the teller was handling my transaction.

I was making a large cash deposit, and due to their lack of organization and professionalism, my money was deposited into someone else’s account.

By the time I realized what happened, the bank had already closed at 6 PM.

I immediately called customer service and was told everything would be notated on my account. Now it’s Saturday, and when I called back, I had to repeat the entire situation as if nothing had been documented — even though they claim calls are monitored and recorded. I provided my receipt and all required information, and I’m still being told they need to “investigate” and speak to a manager and won’t get back to me until Monday.

Because of THEIR negligence, my bills are now affected and my cell phone may be shut off due to not having access to MY money.

This bank has been around for over 100 years and has a million security prompts just to access your account — yet somehow they can still put your money into the wrong account and then take days to return it. They have cameras everywhere and claim everything is monitored, but it still takes what feels like a million years for you to get your own money back.

Let’s see if they even try to offer me any kind of compensation for this inconvenience and stress.

This is the most unprofessional bank experience I’ve ever had. The bank you trust to put your money into your account should NEVER be putting it into someone else’s. I do NOT recommend this bank to anyone, and I will be closing my account due to their negligence and lack of urgency in fixing a serious mistake.

Pathetic experience

I attempted to open a savings account for my child with Apple Bank online, but received a notification that my application was denied. My credit score is over 800, so this was unexpected. When I contacted both Apple Bank and ChexSystems, neither could provide a valid explanation, and each directed me to the other. This experience has been extremely frustrating.

Not sure how they can rub such a FRAUD system

Apple Bank cannot be trusted

Apple Bank cannot be trusted to pay your bills. I made the mistake of using their bill pay. Of the 7 bills I paid, 4 were never received by the creditor costing me late fees and interest payments that Apple would not reimburse even though it was completely and entirely their fault. Nowhere do they warn you that when you use their bill pay you are rolling the dice because they will send paper checks with no tracking information and if it doesn't arrive, their attitude is just tough luck. With my other bank PNC I have used bill pay for over 25 years and never had a problem I will be closing my Apple account. Apple cost me hundreds of dollars and an entire day rectifying the problem. I ended up transferring my money to PNC and paying the bills through them.

I visited this branch on two separate…

I visited this branch on two separate occasions and experienced subpar customer service both times. Today, I contacted Apple Bank's customer service line to file a complaint. The representative informed me that the complaint would be forwarded to her supervisor—but it didn’t sound promising.

On 5/23, I visited the Flushing branch on Kissena Blvd. to make a deposit and a withdrawal. I waited in the bank for about 40 minutes while a woman named K. Schwartz walked back and forth, making phone calls in an attempt to verify a treasury check. I didn’t understand the issue, as I frequently conduct business with various banks in my capacity as a private fiduciary.

After paying for parking and not wanting to spend any more time waiting—time I’d have to bill my client for—I left the check with Ms. Schwartz, who assured me she would call me and mail a receipt since I couldn't stay.

I called back today and spoke with her again. She told me she had been trying to reach my client, which makes no sense, as I’m fully authorized to conduct business on his behalf (as evidenced by the withdrawal I made during the same visit). After I questioned her sternly, she finally explained that they’ve been experiencing a lot of fraud involving treasury checks, which is why she hadn’t processed it. She could have told me there was a an issue from the get go and I would've taken it to his other bank. I also should not have had to call her when she was supposed to call me. Long story short, I told her I would come pickup the check, which I'll have to bill my client for. I will also encourage my client to close this account.

On another occasion a younger Asian man questioned me about why I was making a withdrawal at this particular branch when the account was opened in BK. What does that have to do with anything? He also asked other questions (I'll spare you the details) that made no sense when you can clearly see I'm an authorized user.

They have the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I strongly advise avoiding this branch.

Worst bank EVER!

They entice you with high rate on liquid savings account-- so I opened account with large balance. Months later, they offer a new account with higher rate--but they won't simply change my existing account to the new type. They require BOTH owners to come to bank personally. I guess they hope some people will not notice the new higher rate and lose interest income! It took 45 minutes to open the new account! And they didn't simply import all info from one account to the other-- all had to be entered anew! Big waste of time.

After this happened 3 times {!} I closed the account and transferred funds elsewhere.

But the worst part was that they didn't send me tax forms until mid-May. way after the April 15 tax deadline! Now I have to file an amended return! How bad can a bank be???

My stomach still turns every time I pass an Apple Bank-- and there's one on my corner!

May have good interest rates for those who can tolerate horrible customer service.

My family was originally attracted to this bank because of the supposed good interest rates they offered for youth accounts. We soon realized that this is actually a very substandard bank. The manners of the tellers and even or especially the manager in the bank is unspeakably rude! They seemed out to get us. Me, my sister, and mother each experienced their rudeness nearly every time we went in-person to the bank. You literally had to go to the right bank representative to get what you need without paying extra fees. I went to one person and was told that a certain service would incur a $35 fee, and another person did the service without any additional fees. Eventually we all have taken our money out of there and have gone to TD- much better service.

This company is the worst company I…

This company is the worst company I have dealt with in a long time. The staff have absolutely no training on how to interact with customers and are rude. Responses take forever and you have to keep repeating your issue as you get passed from one adviser to the next. There are better banks and options elsewhere.
