Really poor quality

Bought my 2nd Tully jumper in June 2025. The quality was beyond poor with the worst piling of any jumper I've ever owned . I adored my first one in cream bought in 2024 , this one was bought in 2025 was Slate grey . The piling started immediately, it now looks like a rag . I've never even washed it as it's better not to wash Arans frequently and I didn't want them blaming me. I contacted the company in September complaining about the piling, sending photos . They said this was a NORMAL part of having an Aran jumper, part of the wool . They said to shave it !! I'm Irish, living in Kerry , my mother knitted Arans when we were children . This never happened her Arans . The quality of the wool in the Slate Grey is appalling and that is why this is happening. These jumpers have just 2 reviews on Aran Woollen Mills website , 5 star , so they obviously filter out poor reviews . I would want against buying from this company ! At the very least I expected them to ask me to return jumper for examination of give me some kind of discount to buy a different jumper . Ive spent over €200 on jumpers with them and feel very badly treated as a returning customer with a genuine complaint ! I cannot wear the jumper now as it's an embarrassment after just 6 months !

STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY: Bought and paid for 2 items in November, no metion made of true costs. aid and then got hit by an additional 35% gross in tax and charges, necer menmtiuoned. Opened package, only one item present, seecond item missing, destroyed the while gift. They do not answer mails or calls. Appalling Service, not worthy of the name Aran or being alledely 'Irish', really brings down the quality of both. They should be shut out, STAY AWAY

£25 returns. Poor quality. Poor customer service.

The cardigan I purchased was over £100 and the website lists the prices in pounds sterling which is very misleading. The website adds a lot of tax when you come to purchase the items. It is not really obvious the only company office/ base is in Ireland meaning that returns will be at an exorbitant cost. I bought 2 sizes to try on with the view of returning 1. The returns label is through FedEx Express and costs £25! FedEd Express is not a service widely supported in my area and my local shop that offers FedEx returns does not offer FedEx Express meaning I have to drive 30-1 hour to the next closest Fedex hub. I asked Arran Woollen Mills to extend the return window to give me more time to do this, but they refused.

The cardigan I did keep that cost over £100 has also bobbled on the arms after a few wears, so is not even the quality I would expect of something so expensive.

I would avoid. The whole thing has been stressful and expensive and inconvenient.

Bought a sweatet for my daughter from…

Bought a sweatet for my daughtet from Aran wollen mills in December for delivery to her for Xmas . No problem, but I was charged twice. Once full price and once with a discount available. I have sent them copies of my bank statement (twice) and they have said there is no record of these payments. The bank gave me the reference codes ; again they say they have no record. It is nearly four months now. Unbelievable.

Beware!!

Beware!!! If you need to return an item to this store it will cost you £25. I was shocked. The cardigan I bought was £92. At that price I would have expected a free returns label. I would advise anyone to look elsewhere for knitwear.

An absolute joke

An absolute joke, jumper is too small (even though I used their size guide), and returns are a nightmare and soooooo long winded, expensive and complicated. Tried using Fedex as advised but upon reaching the local depot was told they couldn't accept it for security reasons! Tried to send via RoyalMail and 3 weeks later the jumper is returned due to some customs "failure" (we followed all the instructions about sending back to the letter). So now stuck with a jumper which is too small and appears to have the properties of a boomerang. Desperate to resolve this by speaking to some one rather than emailing back and forth (lucky to get a reply 2-3 days later), but one phone number doesn't work and the other one I have found (a trade number) doesn't pick up. All I want to do is return a jumper to Ireland - how can it be so difficult!!!!!!

Beautiful

I just received my cardigan. It's beautiful- true to colour and fit. I'm size 12 and ordered the medium and it's perfect. It's beautiful soft wool, I love the design and the detailed stitching. Packaged beautifully with love and care from the wild west coast of Ireland. I shall treasure my cardigan, knowing where it came from and valuing its sustainability

Very satisfied

I bought a poncho and a sweater as two gifts. Both were delivered to France very soon after placing my order, and
both recipients are very happy with the colour, size and texture of the wool. I will definitely purchase again in the future.

Poor quality, expensive returns

Jumpers were a really loose knit, wind would blow right through them. Return is £25 flat rate - unfortunately I had bought two separate orders, and was unable to return them together, resulting in being £50 out of pocket for getting to look at some pretty poor jumpers.

Additionally, the merino wool one is very coarse for merino.

Ridiculous returns policy

Ridiculous returns policy. You have to email them, nothing on the website to complete. Then they immediately ask for £25 to send back by FedEx, no mention of Royal Mail being half the cost. They ask you to fill out a form on their page - when you click on the link it says "deceptive page" in bright red. Not good. Jumpers were also just so la la, so with this hassle, will never buy from them again.

Dissapointed

The products from aran woolen mill are lovely. My issue is the sizing. Iam a 12 and ordered a medium- 12/14. It was too small and I had to return it to Ireland. The cost of this was £25!
The website states the large is a size 16/18. If it too large then the total cost of returning would be £50 and I've nothing to show for it.
So unfortunately because of this I won't be ordering again.

I ordered a poncho from Aran Woollen…

I ordered a poncho from Aran Woollen Mills and it's lovely. The quality is great which is what I was hoping for as, at £75, it wasn't cheap. What didn't cross my mind however was the exorbitant return costs that would apply as the company is based in Ireland. When I decided to return the poncho and exchange it for another colour, I was emailed by Customer Services to say that the best way to return an item was to buy a £25 return from FedEx which included custom charges. As lovely as the products are, I won't be buying from them again as a £25 return charge makes it totally unfeasible.

Excellento!

I've now bought five(!!) jumpers from Aran WM over the past year. I stay in the very cold NE of Scotland and these jumpers are...sooo cosy!! Every single jumper I've bought is A+++ or, put another way, about 11ish out of 10. Beautiful crafting, so well made, and the natural wool scent when they arrive is truly gorgeous. Utterly perfect, ladies and gentlemen at AWM. And btw, ignore the eejit who said the woollens are made in China! This is Irish crafting at its finest.
