Love the service
I love the thing they are doing and the tree seedlings that showed up planted very well and they are thriving.
Unsatisfied tree lover and donater
I donated to Arbor Day Foundation. I'm disabled and low income earner.
The deal was to donate and I would receive 5 flowering dogwood trees, 5 flowering Eastern Redbud trees, still don't get that cause I'm in the west. And as a bonus 2 free crapmyrtles along with the planting guide. I donated $50 dollars. Planted as per instructions.
Three of the trees made it and still waiting for the crapmyrtles. As a forester, gardener, and lover of trees, I am sorely disappointed. Three out of 12 plants survived. I want my money back. Because I am unable to get this resolved I just won't ever donate again.
Respectfully

The Dogwoods they said they sent are Bradford Pears!
I filled out the tree survey and received 12 very small seedlings. They arrived safely and we planted them at the appropriate times 7 years ago. All of them did well. I have been happy so far until I realized that the 3 labeled as white flowering dogwoods are actually Bradford Pears! I would NEVER have planted Bradford Pears in my yard. They have been growing consistently but really took off in the last two years. One of them is about 15’ tall now. I was suspicious last year but they have the distinct foul smell this year. I went back and looked at the info the Arbor Day Foundation sent and absolutely everything said I would received 3 white flowering dogwoods. Nothing in their communication even mentions Bradford Pear. I even tried to search their website and they have nothing on the Bradford Pear. What a scam! Now we have to deal with removing them. We live on the SC coast. Bradford Pears are dangerous in Hurricane prone areas.
Wrong trees sent
The trees I received were not red maple and not redbud but some unknown variety of trees.
scam?
Lol was about to waste my time and fill out the survey because why not i really wanted dogwood tree but 10 trees for 1 survey sounds too good. Decided to research and it seems like just bad reviews. Nope not doing it.
Received their mailing today.....
Received their mailing today for a "selected area survey" and at first glance at their survey package (which seems to be a very expensive package for a not-for-profit) it looked like you might get some free seedlings for you input. When I started to complete the survey, I realized they were after my....money of course. What a POS org. they wasted their money on me LOL.
itsso poo classchartsis so better uwu

They sell you dead trees with no refund, no replacement and no reply. Block your negative review so they can scam their next victim. BUYER BEWARE!!!
DEAD TREES
DEAD TREES, If they send you dead trees and then replace them with more dead trees you do NOT get your money back. Fool me once!
Horrible Horrible Horrible
Horrible Horrible Horrible! Every single tree i ordered was full of mold and barely alive. Not a single tree or lilac bush survived. Definitely do not waste your time!
Did not receive what I ordered...TWICE!
I ordered a tree that should have been 3-4 feet. They delivered on that was barely 2 feet. When I complained, they sent another (which is why they get two stars and not just one) but this one is only 29 inches, a full 9 inches shorter than it should be AT ITS SHORTEST. So disappointed. You would think that the second tree they would want to make up for the first, and send a 4 foot one, but no.
Also, they seem to use a third party, so they have no idea what is being shipped.
I spent hundreds of dollars through…
I spent hundreds of dollars through them and I only have one tree that survived out of over 30. They are making so much money and not providing any value. Stay away.
Dead Trees
The trees I received from arborday were severely dehydrated. They were packaged without terresorb or water. It makes me think they are just like other nonprofit scams. Someone should read the reviews and then review their tax exempt status.
Terrible plant/terrible customer service
I ordered a weeping cherry tree for my daughter, paying $118 for the tree. When she received the tree it was apparent that bugs had eaten up all the leaves. I sent pictures to Arbor Day Foundation and they told me to go to a certified arborist or Cooperative Extension. They did not respond to my statement that I would never have paid $100+ for such a terrible looking plant.
Do Not Buy From Arbor Day Foundation
I bought a total of 24 trees from the Arbor Day Foundation and had professionals plant them in places trees grow well on my property. First, they only shipped 23. Of the 23 we planted 2 years ago, 9 never grew at all. So, I paid for 24 trees and currently only 14 are alive. I don’t know if any will grow to full stature. I also bought 8 berry bushes. Every one of them died. 3 were dead on arrival. The others died soon after. This was a huge waste of money.
Received my 12 twigs
Received my 12 twigs, of which most were dead. Dont waste your time or money.
trees if you can barely call them sprouts
did receive the order 30+ trees? literal sprouts single stick that was cut down to fit in package i planted in fall none of them survived winter .bought much better quality from other nurseries for equivalent price .and the donation to plant more trees in public spaces scammy as i n how truthful really is it will not ever buy from arbor day again
As far as this writer is aware
As far as this writer is aware, the Arbor Day Foundation seems suspect to me because of the following reason:
Here in Myrtle Beach/Horry County, SC, developers (with county approvals) are taking trees down daily to deforest the area to build high density housing. Why would this foundation desire donations for more trees when the trees are disappearing so quickly? It may be a scam, but that is my humble opinion. Thank you.

I did not receive my trees and couldn’t reach anybody at the foundation.
