Far too expensive for the quality
Ardo is the kind of company that — although perhaps once good — is now coasting on their strong predatory position. You don’t have much of a choice when it comes to breastfeeding pumps; unless you buy at full price. We’re stuck with Ardo because that’s what our hospital and insurance uses, so we have to make do.
What’s not to like? It’s a comparatively bad pump. We’ve heard plenty of good from other brands, especially when their parts use silicone for a better fit, or at least softer plastics.
Speaking of plastic, because the product is almost 100% that: why is it sooooo expensive? God forbid your nipples are too big for their default insert, because that’ll be another 25 bucks for a bigger part, and thank you very much. Okay, expensive, but couldn’t it ship with a couple extra silicone tips? Nah, that would bankrupt the shareholders!
Expensive, mediocre, those are the brand keywords for me. Lucky you if your insurance covers something with a better price-quality ratio. I don’t think we’ve paid for more for any other plastic thing we own, especially not one that gets discoloured so quickly and barely does the job.
