Argos: Bridging the Gap in Mechanical Watches for Enthusiasts and Connoisseurs In the realm of horology, where precision engineering meets timeless craftsmanship, a new player has emerged with a mission to cater to the discerning tastes of watch enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Argos, a brand founded with a passion for horology, seeks to provide a wide range of mechanical watches that are both premium and affordable, filling a void in the market for timepieces that combine quality and accessibility. The journey of Argos began with the founders' quest for mechanical watches that resonated with their love for fine craftsmanship and intricate movements. They noticed that while a few vintage Indian brands existed in this segment, the options were limited and lacked the desired blend of elegance, precision, and affordability. It was this realization that fueled the birth of Argos, a brand committed to bridging the gap and offering timepieces that would captivate the hearts of watch aficionados. At the core of Argos lies a deep-rooted passion for watchmaking. The founders' love for horology permeates every aspect of the brand, from the meticulous design process to the selection of high-quality components. They have assembled a team of skilled artisans and watchmakers who share their vision and bring their expertise to the creation of each Argos timepiece. One of the key distinguishing factors of Argos is its commitment to offering both premium and affordable mechanical watches. While many luxury brands may offer exquisite craftsmanship, their price points often place them beyond the reach of the average enthusiast. Argos recognizes this disparity and seeks to democratize the world of mechanical watches, making them accessible to a wider audience without compromising on quality. The creation of an Argos timepiece involves a meticulous and detail-oriented approach. Each watch undergoes a rigorous process, from the initial design sketches to the selection of materials and the assembly of intricate movements. The brand's dedication to precision is evident in the accuracy and reliability of their timepieces, a testament to the skill and expertise of their watchmakers. Argos takes pride in offering a diverse range of designs, catering to various preferences and styles. Whether one desires a classic dress watch, a sporty chronograph, or a minimalist timepiece, Argos strives to provide options that suit every individual taste. Each design is thoughtfully crafted, blending aesthetic appeal with functional features to create a harmonious timekeeping companion. Moreover, Argos understands the importance of customer satisfaction and aims to build lasting relationships with its patrons. The brand offers excellent customer service, ensuring that clients receive the support and assistance they need throughout their journey with Argos timepieces. In conclusion, Argos stands as a testament to the founders' passion for horology and their commitment to filling a void in the market for premium yet affordable mechanical watches. With a deep-rooted love for watchmaking and a team of skilled artisans, Argos creates timepieces that captivate the hearts of enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. By offering a diverse range of designs and prioritizing customer satisfaction, Argos aims to be a brand that resonates with watch enthusiasts worldwide, providing them with the perfect blend of elegance, precision, and accessibility.

Improved customer care

I had given a 1-star rating since I had received a faulty watch. The founder contacted me, arranged a replacement watch to be delivered to me. It’s working fine now, as it’s meant to!! Thanks for the extra care.

Great wristwatch from an Indian brand.

I am very happy with my purchase, but have some concerns regarding the finishing of the watch.

Pros - The watch looks fr**king great! For a price of about INR 6000, you get a great deal of the good stuff. The sector style dial (I went for the green one), nicely finished minute markers, and the overall finish of the front side of the watch are a huge plus. Love it.

Cons - The movement finishing could have been better. I understand that the cost is a limitation at this price point, but at least expecting a polished/uniform finish on the movement here. The spring winding gear in the back on my watch seems to have some sort of black spots (may be a machining error, not sure though). Since the rest of the watch is great looking, the black spots stand out even more. It doesn't affect the function of the gear in any way, but would have liked it to be smooth.
The crown could have had more texture and slightly bigger size. I am a person with stubbier fingers, and winding the watch seems like a task.
The leather strap also could be a bit softer so that the watch fits better on wrist.

All in all, a great watch for the price point, with some minor enhancements that could probably take it to a higher level if they were implemented. Also, I like that I purchased it at the discounted price of INR 5963. I would not have paid more for the watch (MRP is INR 9893) considering that there are other options like Alba at that price with better movement and finishing.

All show and little substance

I purchased the watch during the third week of August. My initial impressions were quite positive; I received the watch promptly, and it appeared to be well-assembled. The dial was attractive, and the bracelet seemed to be of good quality for the price point. However, over a weekend of wearing it, I observed that the watch lost a considerable amount of time and would pause randomly. I suspected the balance spring might have been the culprit. I reached out to the Argos team and shared my feedback regarding the movement. They arranged a pick-up and informed me that they would send a replacement. It has been over a month, yet they haven’t sent a replacement. I understand that challenges may arise for a micro-brand with limited resources or bandwidth; however, there’s no excuse for poor responsiveness. They remain unresponsive for long periods and then fail to uphold the commitments they make. It’s unfortunate that such a good-looking watch comes with unreliable movement and inadequate support.

Looks great, but customer service needs help.

To be clear, I love the looks of this watch, and I did buy 2 of them in different color dials. One of them is working fine and looks great. The other, ice blue dial, broke on the first winding (following the winding directions diligently.) The crown fell off in my hand with a broken shaft. Repair would be difficult at best.

This could easily have been handled by customer service, but this is where the low rating comes in as they asked me to have the watch repaired locally and that they would reimburse my costs.
I explained that even if I did have a watch repair shop locally the cost would certainly be higher than the purchase price of the watch.

Would they send me a pre-paid shipping label and replace the watch? I guess not. PayPal refunded my money for the one watch and I continue to check the other one for proper function and all seems good so far.

This is a shame since the product looks good and feels good on the wrist.

I bought a watch from Argos and it had a broken glass

I bought a watch from Argos and was received on 10-Sep-23. And to my surprise the watch had a cracked watch glass. I am writing to Argos on this since 10-Sep-23 and I haven't got one response back regarding this. This is totally not acceptable at all.

Cadmium Yellow Radium resonance!

First of all a big thanks to Argos for putting something wonderful like this. It's one of the most bang for the buck watch ever. And a good starter watch if you are stepping into the world of mechanical movements. The Jubilee bracelet & Swiss movement with niche finish and they have made no compromise in quality. The CADMIUM Yellow is 💛. Keep it up Team ARGOS.....Mani

Beautiful Package and Very Smooth Hand Wound Watch

I ordered this watch with high sceptism. I was doubtful that the watch could be some cheap assembled. However, on recieving the watch courier, my perception changed. First the package, not less than any branded company, beautiful wooden box, with a sliding watch holder. Inside was a beautiful watch with great detailing and very good finishing. I am overwhelmed to see this, smooth hand winding and very smooth running seconds hand similar to sweeping movements. Perfectly fits my wrist and is esthetically very appealing. I have ordered another watch after seeing this....I have the APOLLO II - CONSTELLATION BLUE GOLD
