Had a new water heater installed

Had a new water heater installed, I left for work my wife left on errands. When my wife returned home, she found our hallway and living room was flooded.they had cracked a fitting behind the water tank and did not catch it.when they came back to repair it, they blamed my existing plumbing.I got the impression they were saying it was my fault , not the fact, that they had caused it.I had to have my carpet replaced.I never even got an apology from them.this water heater replacement cost me over $5,000 dollars. Thanks a lot!!

Spent $24,000 with ARS Mannassas when…

Spent $24,000 with ARS Mannassas when we installed three new units 4 years ago. Two units were for the house and one for the wine fridge. We have been customers of ARS for the last 15 years. They provide our semi-annual maintenance and had also installed our first units.

The wine unit stopped working two weeks ago. We had ARS come take a look at it for $89. They let me know the fridgerant was completely empty… for $600 they could find out where the leak was. It will then cost about $3500-$5500 to fix the unit out of pocket regardless of the 10 part warranty. The repair man said that it was extremely high rate.

We attempted to contact the manager four times without a return call. Although they are still scheduled to come to our house tomorrow for the semi-annual maintenance. After the 5th attempt (today) the manager accepted our call.

The manager was unapologetic, unprofessional, rude, and not customer service oriented. When we purchased our three units 4 years ago we had agreed to a unit for the cellar. After ARS pulled out our current unit they realized that the unit they had specked out and that they sold us wouldn’t work in our house. They came up with a plan b unit that they said was same quality and that would work with our house. This is the unit that is now broken.

After all our years as customers, all the money we have spent with this company I would have expected more from the management team. I understand it is not the mangers fault the unit broke but the attitude, lack of respect and sense of customer service was appalling.

I highly recommend that you look elsewhere if you are interested in purchasing or servicing your units! This is no longer a company we will be working with.

Go elsewhere

Spent 11,000$ on ARS installed unit 4 years ago. It’s already broken down they quoted me an insanely high price to fix it. I decided against the quote and they still charged me 90$ just to look at it. Also arrived one hour past the 12-4 window. I do not recommend this company.

They installed a mini split AC in my house years ago and they seemed like a descent company. I had a maintenance contract with them on the unit since they require a lot of maintenance and they had one expert on staff. It appears he left the company (was given the run around about his status by different employees). They sent a technician out named Dakota who was a pushy salesman in disguise. Told me my working AC needed $4k in repairs without bothering to turn on the unit.

They dragged cancelling out till I was billed again for the maintenance plan but refused to refund the payment. Was promised multiple times a manager would call me back over the last month but never happened. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

I used ARS for 1 year and was a member of their pro service plan. ARS proved good at selling me things I didn't need and bad at actually fixing broken hvacs. They don't stand by their work. If you pay them to fix something and its not fixed, you will have to keep paying them to try to fix it.

Here is my ARS nightmare:
- 2 year-old unit was not blowing cold air.
- The first time they came out and said the relay was broken.
- They came a week later to fix the relay, and said the blower motor was broken.
- They came a week later to fix the blower motor : $600
- Unit still didn't blow cold air.
- The came back to take another look - this time, they said the issue was the thermostat and low freon. $500 thermostat + 200 for extra freon.
- Unit still was not blowing cold air.
- ARS came back out to look, this time they said the problem is the relay (ARGHHH).
- A week later ARS came back to replace the relay. ($500)
- Unit still didn't blow cold air.
- I called them and said I wanted my money back. The representative said management was busy and that she would call me back.
- Update: 3 weeks later and still no call back.

Conclusion: if you have a lot of money that you don't want and love sleeping in blazing hot rooms -- ARS is your choice.

Clowns

Clowns ! They don't know how to submit permits to the City or which city to even file. The started the job and now waiting for City inspection to complete. Wait MONTHS and they blame the City for delays. Not a chance, I called the City and ARS didn't even file the permit correctly and NO-ONE at ARS ever follows up or takes responsibility. Called them over 15 times now. Now I have 2 ten foot holes in my front yard, earth mound killing my lawn. And ARS are a complete joke. Their Satisfaction guaranteed isn't worth the paper it's scribbled on. Will not use nor recommend for anything other than a toilet unblock.

Completely incompetent

We purchased our new unit in May 2020. It has never worked correctly. Techs have been out over a dozen times. We have been without heat since December 23. At the end of December, they told me we needed a new part. I've called and sent texts and was told the part was on back order so we've been waiting for over a month without heat. I called today, and they said they had a tech on their way, but they didn't schedule that appointment with us, so I had to scramble to find someone to get home, only to find out that they NEVER ordered the part and I don't know why we've been waiting. No one could give me an answer. Do not waste your money or time. They are completely incompetent.

Scammers Not trust worthy

I wrote a review earlier about ARS. Since that review the were horrible. We were to get a 3.5 ton unit. They installed a 3.0 ton
No one told us of the change. No change in the cost. That goodness we took a picture of serial and model numbers. Come to find they ripped us off. We called with no return calls. Finally after contacting Home Depot (2 months later) ARS called. DONT TRUST THEM!!!

Ripped off by ARS and Home Depo on New Airconditioner

I had a new Carrier 4 ton model FB4CNF048 AIR CONDITIONER installed at over $11,000.No other work was needed or done. Way over priced. 3 of my friends had 4 ton air conditioners installed for between 6 and 8 thousand dollars. The price was for air conditioner only. When I bough the new unit the sales man said I had 6 YEARS FREE SERVICE, that is why I went for the inflated price. When I called for service ARS SAID I HAD ONLY A YEAR SERVICE. I needed new filters and found that I could only get filters if I agreed to a service plan with ARS. I could not find filters 20"X21"x5/8"for my odd ball Carrier air conditioner anywhere. ARS told me the parts department would call me about the filters. They never called me back, so I called the company who manufactured the filters and they agreed to send me 2 years of filters for $98 even though they don't sell retail they did me a favor seeing that ARS would not help. The reason I bought the new air conditioner to begin with was because Home Depo rep Mary at the Sebastian Home Depo store approached me at the store as I walked in promising me I would save money on my electric bill and offered me a $50 gift certificate if I agreed to a sales person from ARS come to my home and give me an estimate . I bought the new air conditioner and I never got the $50 gift certificate. I questioned Mary, ARS and Home depo later about the $50 gift certificate to no avail. I feel totally abused by ARS and Home Depo.

ARS previously installed our new HVAC…

ARS previously installed our new HVAC unti and a scrubber two years ago.
I arrange for the duct work to be replaced in November of 2022.
They came and worked for 10 hours installing. good workers.
Within 3 hours the duct work fell to the ground in the basement. They returned and repaired it.
Then again a few week later it fell down again. Can and repaired it.
Three days before Christmas, it fell again. A man came out and could not fix it because he told me the duct work installed was the WRONG SIZE!
This was Friday before Christmas and told me a tech would be out on Tuesday the next week.
I waited andwaited, called and called only to be given appointment dates with n o one calling or showing up t o fix it.
It is now the 6th of January. I hav e called and left messages for the managers of ARS Nashville and the corporate office in Memphis.
I have received only one call back. They told me again that a man would come back the next day. Never called, Never showed up.
I am getting nowhere. So I called the business that I financed this project through and told them, tha tI will now pay them until the job is finished. (payments start mid January).
Poor ARS Nashville management, poor corporate management. So now I am taking this to a higher level.
Beware.

Very poor service and follow up.

ARS/Rescue Rooter installed a new Bryant Heat Pump and Honeywell digital thermostat early this fall. It had been working fine until the cold snap in NC Christmas weekend. It stopped working and the thermostat was blank. A technician came out and got it working, and 1 1/2 hours after he left, it stopped working again. The next day they sent another technician out, he did the same thing, changed some fuses, and about an hour after he left, it died again. We have been freezing for four days. They have us on a stand by schedule for another technician to come out today, so at this point they are not treating us as priority at all. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor and they routed me to someone's voicemail who has not called me back. I am completely dissatisfied at ARS right now. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Ft. Lauderdale ARS beware!

Ft. Lauderdale ARS responded promptly when our AC system went down. Added refrigerant and gave a quote to replace system for $25,000, wanted me to approve on the spot. Got two quotes from qualified companies for under $10,300. Found out ARS charged me double for refrigerant. They are opportunistic and disreputable, beware!

I bought an air conditioner system from them and they allowed the permit to lapse. Now I have a lien on my house and buyers threaten to not close the deal due to their incompetence. Attempts to rectify this took 2 wks. Now they sent another permit and I have to wait for City to inspect. City closed offices for 3 days!!!! This is horrendous service.

I’ve used ARS for a couple of years

I’ve used ARS for a couple of years, have had a heat pump system installed, a couple of air scrubbers and a repair. I do not recommend them. The technicians are competent, but they always press to sell something beyond the service. Their cost is high, bordering on gouging. For example they charge nearly $800 to replace an air scrubber cell you can purchase for $150.
