£70,000 Fraud

I am owed more than £70,000 by Chris Boadle and Jaz Azzam – the owners of Arthur Sleep – which was lent to them, from my children's inheritance fund, as a major favour during one of the myriad desperate financial crises which have affected the company.

Since lending the money, both business owners have totally disappeared from communications and failed to honour their debts ... yet somehow found time to splash across social media daily aspirational depicitions of a luxurious lifestyle callously funded by borrowing funds from friends, family and goodwilled parties without ever seemingly intending to return the funds.

I am profoundly disappointed by the behviour of both Chris Boadle and Jaz Azzam and would advise both clients and business partners of the dangers of losing funds / investments when working with Arthur Sleep.

The best loafers I have ever owned

I am lucky enough to own a pair of Arthur Sleep brown suede loafers and I would go so far as to say that they are the best pair of loafers I have ever worn.

Arthur Sleep shoes are made from the best materials and are incredibly comfortable to wear. The nap on this particular suede is deep and soft. The construction of these loafers rivals any of the other top English shoemakers, however, they are so much more comfortable than any other loafers I have owned. They are built to last and are traditional but with a subtle modern elegance.

I highly recommend Arthur Sleep to anyone looking for a smart, versatile, and comfortable pair of shoes. They are an excellent investment that will provide years of use and enjoyment.

Lastly, to Chris and Jay at Arthur Sleep, chapeau gentlemen.

Just Picked up a Pair of black

Just Picked up a Pair of black, Calf skin, Square toe, loafers.

I have to say they’re exceptional.

Super comfortable, elegant, and well made.

The entire fitting process was great, very helpful Staff, even the packaging and shoe box are exceptional.

Worth every penny.

Utterly Awful Experience

Short Version:

Poor service; second rate product; lied to on multiple occasions.

Long Version:

Ordered a pair of opera pumps on November 18, 2019. The quoted time frame fore completion of MTO items was 2-3 weeks.

A full month later on December 19 I wrote an email to inquire about the status of my order, and was told that production was just completing and some unforeseen delays had occurred due to moving to a new facility. This seemed reasonable, though it would have been nice to be informed of the delay prior to reaching out myself.

Christmas time was hectic and I all but forgot about my order, and suddenly it was the middle of January. On January 15 I once again made an inquiry. In response I was told that the shoes were complete and that they would be dispatched the next day. Once again I accepted this.

One week later I had still not received confirmation of shipment and requested that my order be canceled. They refused saying that the order had already shipped (I found out later it had not) and offered to credit my card for 50% of the purchase price for the inconvenience and that I would receive the tracking information within 24 hours.

24 hours later I had not received any further communication and subsequently reversed the charges with the credit card company. Within a few hours I received calls from the owner/operators of the company offering the more discounts and free items in exchange for canceling the charge reversal. They also somehow now miraculously had a tracking number, though the courier had not picked it up yet. I said that we would discuss any resolutions once I had received the shoes (looking back I wish I had just said keep them)

When I received the shoes I was completely disheartened. The upper was misaligned with the sole. There was glue on the upper (yep cemented construction, not bolognese or blake). And there were several small dents in the patent leather. I had no interest in owning any of their products, let alone expanding my collection with them. I told them that I would be cancelling the charge reversal, and could they please credit me 50% of the purchase price as discussed (January 27, 2020). No reply.

I requested reimbursement again on February 7, 2020. In response I was told that the credit had already been issued, and that they would confirm so on the 10th. That was a month ago now and there has been no credit to my account. I Emailed them on March 6, 2020 with no response up to posting this. If this changes I will update this review with that information.

Update - March 10, 2020

After posting this review here and in other places a credit was issued to the charged card within 24 hours. To my mind this mater is now closed, but does not improve my opinion of Arthur Sleep's business practices.

Fraud, credit card company was able to settle dispute

Prior to payment, they expediently provided images of designs and iterated on ideas. After payment, they never produced any shoes. A guy named Chris would respond once a month and promise the shoes would be finished every 2 weeks, which continued for 8 months.

Finally, they wouldn't respond to my requests for a refund so I turned it over to my credit card company as a fraud case and they were able to recover the money.

Full of deceit and worst customer service experience

I am shocked at this company’s lack of customer service and quality of its ‘luxury’ items. Not only were its £400 shoes delivered in tissue paper, they were poor quality. They do NOT understand luxury. When I asked for a refund, I was shouted at down the phone with shocking aggression and no emails were ever answered. I would encourage all future customers to AVOID this overpriced, rude and deceitful company.
