I would give ARW 0 stars if it were an option. I submitted an emergency claim, and after 30 days it was still unresolved. Despite repeatedly telling ARW this was an urgent situation, they were unable to send a technician or provide any real help. In the end, I had to hire someone on my own to fix the issue, out of pocket, while my emergency dragged on without resolution. Completely unacceptable service — do not waste your money with this company.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the handling of our recent warranty claim with American Residential Warranty. What began as a simple plumbing leak has turned into a frustrating and exhausting ordeal.
Initially, your company was unable to find a contractor to address our issue, which appears to be a common challenge for your organization. Consequently, we were advised to locate our own contractor, which we did. Throughout this process, we kept your team informed about the estimates for the repairs as well as the final costs.
Despite our diligent efforts over the past few weeks to provide all necessary information and documentation, we have encountered significant resistance when it comes to receiving the payout we are owed under our contract. Instead of honoring our agreement, it seems American Residential Warranty company has focused on finding reasons to deny our claim.
We have an addendum in our contract that clearly covers septic tanks and plumbing, with a maximum reimbursement of $2,500. Once again, our claim has been denied.
Currently, we are paying $2,400 annually for the warranty on Just One home, and I have been with your company since 2017, maintaining coverage on this properties.
BUT WAIT :-we have two homes with your Company!
And Over the years, we have invested a significant amount of money into this warranties, and yet, when we recently required assistance, we were met with a swift denial of our claim.
As a loyal customers for the past eight years, this treatment is not only disappointing but also unacceptable. Given the substantial amount we have spent on repairs and premiums, we now feel that we would have been better off being self-insured.

I am a real estate agent in Colorado and bought this home warranty for clients. When their hot water heater went out they called ARW and were told that there would only be $300 paid towards a new one. This wasn't what I was told they would get. When I called the company, they verified that my clients had a consumer warranty instead of what I was led to believe I purchased for them. Apparently, I called their consumer line by accident. What is upsetting is that the agent on the phone KNEW that I was a real estate agent but still took my money for this policy ($850!) when she should have transferred me to their professional team. I ended up having to buy a home warranty from American Home Warranty, which is far superior and has much better coverage and customer service! I will never use this company again and want to warn others of their unprofessional practices. I asked for a refund or at least a partial refund but they refused to even call me back. This is a shoddy company and I will at least make sure that every real estate agent I know, doesn't use them. Just read the reviews for yourself. This company is a scam.

This company is a complete scam. They will do anything not to pay for your appliances. We had a dryer go out and after a month in a half they offered a very low amount stating that there were tech fees involved that reduced the amount we were to receive. The problem, they never sent a tech out but they said that they have a third party do an over the phone diagnostic that comes out of what you would receive. I went to cancel my monthly contract and they charged me for another month and a $272 cancelation fee. Their customer service and managers know that there is nothing you can do about it so they will make sure that you always pay in and they never pay out. This company is not insurance for anyone. They are scammers.

We paid $125 for plumber and $125 for Electrician and they never sent anyone out. They told us to find our own and that the items were covered. We did. Over $2,000 in claims and they denied both. What's the point of having the insurance if they lie and don't cover anything. If anyone wants to join and do a class action lawsuit. Respond.

I called to cancel my service and Tiffany was rude. I asked if I had a problem going forward, if I should call the number I had called previously to discuss it and she said "I don't know why you would do that but if you don't trust me you can, have a nice day" and hung up on me. WOW. I was asking for clarification and will now be cancelling all of my services with ARW.

Standard warranty company that denies all claims till you give up. They like to transfer you multiple times when you call in to frustrate the customer until you just give up. I truly believe this company is a scam. They also like to charge you $120 to even open a claim knowing it will be denied. Another revenue stream for the sham of a company.

Is a shame on this day we are still dealing with insurance companies that do not provide services in good faith. After filling a claim and paying a deductible I was told seven days later to find my own technician to fix our AC unit and ofcourse pay out off pocket. If I have to pay why do I need insurance for? Scam!

Unfortunately, after a seven year relationship Maggie from the escalation department misunderstood my request to repair my hot water tank. Claimed denied. There was no listening on her part that she misunderstood my claim and denied the claim because she thought I had changed my hot water tank from electric to gas. she claims I said that because it didn’t happen. Will she play the recording for me, no.

“disclosed that your water heater had gone
out and that you had the electric heater switched to a gas one.
These statements collaborate the denial reason for failure to notify. “
She can say anything she wants. I still have the same old electric not working hot water tank in my garage in the same place it was before there is no gas hot water tank. The problem was the listening part so it was obvious to me that they just wanted to deny the claim I would never use them again and I asked for her boss who I barely got out of her his first name is Andrew they do not reveal last names. However, all I got was his voicemail.

I had two issues. First, my refrigerator ice maker wasn't producing enough ice. They sent out same company both tech said they will order the part to fix it. Shortly, they closed out my claim without notifying me. Second, my AC went out. The fan works but no cold air. It's been in the high 90s and they couldn't find any company to come out to repair my AC. I would not recommend this company. Terrible service.

This customer care representative Vanessa made my day today! I was trying to sort out the current plan charges and she helped me providing the same benefits with lower rate. While she was doing it, my call got dropped. She called me after sometime and confirmed the rate change was processed. Also to my surprise she asked about an in progress claim and when she knew my own contractor didn’t sign my claim, she helped me waiving the claim processing charges.!
