Great experience with Dawa Lama! The trek was very intresting with incredible views. Maybe any cooking classes can be proposed with local food.

The seven-day trek with Pemba (guide) and Anup (porter) in Singalila National Park was profoundly beautiful and extremely well managed. We felt safe and supported every step of the way and can't wait to go on another trek with Ashmita Trek and Tours in those incredible, mythic Himalayan foothills.

The tour was everything we could have hoped for and more! Dawa was so knowledgeable and took us to even more places that were not on the list. The pace was good and he guided us to a cafe for lunch which made us tasty, fresh Momo! We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Truly special trekking. I did a one day, and the whole team were hugely professional, they kept in contact via WhatsApp before and then guided me through a magical day. We stopped along the way for warming food and chai, and the warmth of local hospitality. Can’t recommend these guys enough!!

Wonderful experience on the day trek to Tonglu. Special thanks to our trek guide Mr. Rupesh who was extremely knowledgeable and made the trek even more fun.

Overall, the trek I booked clearly exceeded my expectations. The organization by the local agency and its owner was perfect. The drivers were more than punctual, the hotel in Darjeeling with a room with a view of Kangchendzönga was excellent. My guide Rupesh was friendly, competent and always tried to organize the best room for me in the lodges. I had low expectations of the lodges and catering before the start (unjustified as it turned out). Here, too, I have to say that the accommodation (for almost 4,000 m altitude in the middle of nowhere) far exceeded my expectations. The meals were also varied and more than ample. In summary, a real recommendation with a very good price/performance ratio.

Well organised and professional 4 day hiking trip to Sandakphu. Communication and booking process was easy before the trip - Ashmita were flexible and able to start on a day not listed on their website which was great for my trip. The guide (Tenzing) was knowledgeable and attentive throughout. We completed the hike at my pace and finally changed the last night’s stay and end of the route during the hike. This enabled me to connect directly with transportation to Siliguri which saved me lots of extra travel time and went over and above my expectations. Overall I had a great experience and would highly recommend Ashmita.

We chose the luxury tour of Sikkim and Darjeeling for our first trip to North East India.
Ashmita came recommended in the acknowledgement section of a book I read about the area and Mount Kanchenjunga. The author had used Subhash and the Ashmita team for her research.
We came from the UK but our good Indian friends accompanied us.
There was an initial confusion about our hotel booking dates, but this was resolved before we travelled.
We were met at the airport by driver and guide. Both of whom looked after us extremely well over the 6 days. Our ages ranged from 16 to 67, and Wangdi Bhutia, our guide, related well and included all of us in the information he was able to give. He spoke excellent English and Hindi. He was mindful of our health and safety at all times. The organisation was seamless from arrival.
We chose to stay in The Elgin Hotels in both Gangtok and Darjeeling. They both gave super service, food, and accommodation.
We covered many sights, and perhaps on reflection, this made the tour quite hectic. More time to explore Gangtok and Darjeeling outside of the tour schedule would have been appreciated.
However, all of us enjoyed the wonderful experience.

Our guide Rabin and our driver dipu made our day extremely special they were so chatty and so kind despite some initial reluctance to do the trek. However once we got going the day just got better and better. I would highly recommend ashmita tours to anyone, everyone was organised and timely and just an amazing day. Thank you to everyone!

My wife and I had a fantastic trekking experience together with the very professional, friendly and helpful Ashmita team. Special thanks to our guide Sangay.
Our guide Sangay guided us through a very varied and breathtaking landscape and our cook served us the best food. It was amazing to see how our helpers handled the Yacks perfectly.
The journey to and from Yuksom was carried out extremely safely and comfortably by our driver. The stay in the family-run hotel in Yuksom was very relaxing and comfortable.

We made a nature walk and enjoyed it with our guide Rabin. The company is well organized and can adapt tours individually, the driver Santosh is very careful. I highly recommend the agency.

Amazing Tiger Hill Tour

Tour was great and guide was very knowledgeable. As a solo female, I felt very safe.

It was an incredible walking tour! I went to places I would normally haven’t planned for on my own and I learnt about the locals a lot.

A small group, amazing scenery along the route of the trek and a good guide who ensured that there were no hiccups in the arrangements enroute made the trek enjoyable.
Ashmita were very prompt in their responses and they put together the pieces of booking, guide, transportation and accomodation in a neat manner.

We had a great tour with pimba. We even saw the mount Everest. The food and the whole experience were amazing. The whole team was very helpful in the preparation and the aftermath of the tour.

I was in Darjeeling recently and was able to connect with Subash at Ashmita Tours. Me and my companions ended up doing two tours with Subash. On our first day we got the opportunity to visit a local tea plantation (and have a tasting), the Himalayan Mountain Institute, and the Tibetan Refugee Center. We also took a long nature walk above the city, which isn't something a lot of other tour companies are doing. We ended at a Buddhist temple and were really the only ones there, which gave us an opportunity to meditate and enjoy the peace and quiet. The second day we got up quite early to try and catch the sunrise on Tiger Hill. Mother Nature unfortunately had other plans as it was quite foggy, but once it was light out, we took a long nature walk through an animal reserve, seeing lots of beautiful trees/nature/birds/flowers along the way. We later visited a Hindu temple, before climbing quite a few stairs to get to a Buddhist monastery. We were so lucky to arrive when the monks were chanting. We were welcomed in and sat in the floor listening to their mesmerizing chants, and were given some butter tea to enjoy as well. It was an incredible experience. We did a lot of nature walking this particular day, and eventually found ourselves at Subash's friend's house where we were served an absolutely scrumptious breakfast on a rooftop looking out over the mountains. Once we were fueled up, we continued our walk and got to visit a Sherpa graveyard and another beautiful Buddhist temple before getting back into town. Both days were really amazing, and Subash took great care of us, looking after us both days. I highly recommend booking with Ashmita Trek and Tours if you are in Darjeeling. You won't be disappointed.

We booked our trip on arrival in Darjeeling hoping it would orientate what was available on the doorstep and what we needed to book. It was perfect! We saw a tea plantation, varieties of flora and fauna in the forested mountainside, winding tracks through the village with homes perched precariously with stunning outlooks. We visited the oldest monastery in Darjeeling and temples to both Hindu and Buddhism with the colourful prayer flags synonymous with the faith. The guide took a steady pace and waited patiently when we chose to linger. As it was a Sunday some places were closed but we were very happy with clean mountain air away from the noise of cities.

We had an amazing trek on the Sandakphu Singalila Ridge. This well-planned six-day trek encompassed all the elements of nature, local food, a bit of sweat, altitude gain, stunning mountains, breathtaking sunrises, and cozy, basic homestays. Our guide from Ashmita Trek and Tours, Rupesh, played a significant role in making this trek the best trekking experience we could have asked for. We could truly feel how welcomed and well-liked Rupesh was every time we stopped for lunch or an overnight stay. Rupesh knows the route and terrain inside and out, and he knows exactly when to take breaks. We felt safe and in capable hands throughout the entire journey.
And before the trek, we felt well taken care of by Mr. Subash from Ashmita Trek and Tours, who patiently answered all our questions and arranged both airport transfers and a horse to transport our luggage from place to place. We would definitely recommend this trek to anyone looking for a moderately challenging physical adventure. It’s an unforgettable experience that combines beautiful landscapes with the warmth of local culture, and we can’t wait to return!

We had an amazing 6h tour of Darjeeling and surroundings with Sangay. We discovered so many things we would have never found out ourselves, including amazing food. I especially liked that we had a real mountaineer as our guide and I could ask all my questions about that. We also learnt so much about life in North India and Tibet. We went with our 7-year-old, and she enjoyed it too. Sangay was able to adapt to us perfectly, so it was exactly the right level of adventure and lots of fun. Highly recommended!

Subash was an amazing guide. Even with bad weather we were able to see everything and enjoy every part of the day, with anecdotes and interesting facts, and also his contagious happiness! The tour is very full of different experiences, and also some places that you would never find alone. The day flew by very quickly, and we were all truly satisfied by every aspect of it. And in the end the best surprise, a panoramic hike with the best view ever! Highly recommended!
