Why companies come to us: under Article 119(2) of Regulation (EU) 2017/1001, a business with no domicile or establishment in the EEA must be represented before the EUIPO, the EU trade mark office, in every proceeding except filing the application. Objections, oppositions, transfers and licences all require a representative. If the Office asks for one and none is appointed, the application is refused.
