I was frustrated to discover my payroll provider. Asure, automatically enrolled my business in a paid cyber insurance program requiring opt-out action to avoid billing. I strongly believe additional products that I am to be billed for should require affirmative customer consent, not automatic enrollment without consent.

Terrible and deceptive company. Advise to go anywhere else for your payroll services. They won't tell you your cancellation fee until after they collect your money. Their contracts are for 5 years and auto-renew after 5 years which I now question the legality of this practice.

What a shady company this has become. We’ve had lot of mistakes at processing my basic payroll. Then in 2025 they starting auto enrolling us in various programs like cyber insurance and HR and charging your statements. When I started with them 5-6 years ago they seemed solid. They have gone completely down hill in past 2 years.

They did not file or pay our state witholdings (even though they witheld from our payroll) and refused to help resolve it. In addition their interface and programs are not user friendly and their support is nealry non exisitant.

STAY AWAY! They are a scam company and use underhanded, non transparent tactics to lure you in..THEN IMPOSSIBLE to cancel! I went to them to get my ERTC over THREE years ago and I still dont have it. They bombard you with additonal items at an upcharge for e-sig, but then do not answer the phone to answer your questions. I have been trying to cancel for over TWO years and each time they come up with a bogus contract clause. Today they told me that I had to sign something 60 days in advance of June 20th (ten days away) so they are saying I am LOCKED into another full year at over $200/month. SNEAKY AND PREDITORY! I am turning over to my attorney.

What a waste of time.
Background: "ERC Today" has (and maybe other companies also have) contracted with Asuresoftware (or has some other kind of relationship with them) to process business applicants for the Employee Retention Credit.
Issue: Asuresoftware takes weeks to deal with you; they ask you for the same things and questions over and over again; can't be bothered to read emails that briefly and concisely answer their question; are not familiar with opening and reading simple Excel spreadsheets; and they let you sit for weeks without status updates.
Summary: It's truly a clown operation, wasting your time and efforts for no results. AVOID!

This company is awful. They processed our payroll for about 2 years and never once properly paid the state and federal payroll taxes. Now I am having to deal with the State treasury office on delinquent taxes that the payroll company repeatedly fail to pay, with penalties and interest. Then they had the gall to send me to collection for exiting my contract with them to process our payroll. They failed for 2 years to fill taxes, I call that a breach of contract. AVOID this company and all of it's subsidiaries.
