Very good sound quality
A huge improvement for my ageing turntable, also keeping it up to date.
An absolutely superb cartridge matched with my Rega Planar 3 turntable. An excellent analogue sound with superb musicality and detail. Although this is an MM cartridge it is certainly a match for many MC cartridges in terms of performance. It is far superior to MM cartridges in the same price bracket, and is also a match for many costing far more.
Great upgrade
Great cartridge, full D sound quality
I was replacing an Exact cartridge on my Rega RP8. A manufacturing /quality control issue meant that I returned the first example. An immediate replacement was sent by my excellent dealer. I have used the replacement cartridge for only a week or so, so my comments must be preliminary, as there will surely be further 'bedding in'. I noticed an initial 'brightness' that was almost 'harsh' on my system, but the sound has already calmed down considerably, and it is a pleasure to listen to. I think that there is more pleasurable rhythmic detail than the Exact; at present, there is perhaps a little less obvious 'oomph'? Moving from the older Rega cartridge, one follows their advice and accepts the slightly non-parallel tonearm. If anything, there appears to be more clearance for the ND5 cartridge body than there was for the Exact. It has a stylus guard that helpfully remains in place when fitting the cartridge. An inexpensive digital scales will enable the setting to the correct weight. You will soon find that the cueing platform/arm lift no longer lifts the arm satisfactorily. A 1.25 hex key can be used to loosen and retighten the cueing platform screw to the new correct height. Your dealer should be able to do all this for you at no charge. A word of warning. I am given to understand that Rega use a glue for their Exact stylus which is dissolved by the use of stylus cleaning fluid. I now use only a dry brush, as I do not intend to discover that the same glue is used for the ND5.
Superb upgrade from my Supex which was over 25 years old, but served me well. Sound was improved with more bass and stereo soundstage was more impressive. It was also easy to fit. Certainly recommend the Nd5 for Rega decks. Mine is an old Planar 3 from 1987
Lovely cartridge, excellent non- booming bass. Refined listening experience.
Great sound..Big improvement over elys 2
Greatly improved sound quality.
Absolutely superb sound.
Excellent cartrage at that price with the added advantage of a clear view of the diamond tip location on the record.
