I cannot recommend Aurora expeditions highly enough. The expedition crew were fantastic, the Greg Mortimer is an amazing ship with a brilliant crew. And the destinations speak for themselves.

We were on the third voyage of tye Greg Mortimer to Antarctica and had a fantastic time. The expedition staff and organisation of landings was seamless and we had many opportunities to experience this amazing environment and its wildlife. The boat crew responsible for room service and meals were also exceptional....food was delicious and plentiful...we managed to gain weight!! A fantastic journey.

The expedition staff were knowledgeable, approachable and extremely interesting presenters.
The food was quite good, especially considering fresh supplies were not available for 20 days.
Plenty of zodiac trips to see wildlife.
Rooms very comfortable and serviced each day by friendly staff.
The new Greg Mortimer ship was great.

Fantastic company to travel with. The new ship Greg Mortimer was A1. The ship was very plush but the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. The food and beverage teams and the cabin stewards were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food and wine was excellent. The expedition leader John and his 2IC Robyn were competent, friendly and, along with Captain Oleg and his crew, on a mission to get us ashore in Antarctica at any time when it was safely possible. All the expedition team, including guest speakers were approachable, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting to listen to in their informative lectures. I unfortunately had the need to ask for the ship's Doctor's assistance. Suzanne was extremely attentive and got me over my ills!! The sights and experiences of Antarctica itself lived up to it's billing. I would have no hesitation In recommending Aurora Expeditions to anyone. They came highly recommended to us by friends, family and clients.

Our Aurora trip to the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and the Falklands was an amazing adventure. The planning and execution of the voyage was faultless. The onboard Aurora Expeditor team are very knowledgeable, capable and friendly. They are extremely safety conscientious which is a necessity whilst visiting these areas. Getting on and off Zodiacs can be dangerous if not executed properly. They were also very mindful of keeping minimum distances from the wildlife and any vegetation. We loved our once-in-a-lifetime adventure to this unique part of the world and are pleased we chose Aurora.

This trip exceeded expectations (which were already high). The expedition team was knowledgeable and approachable; the ship's staff was excellent; the ship (Greg Mortimer) was comfortable; the food was superb; the exercise room had everything needed to stay in shape; and of course the places visited were mind-blowing. A very pricey, once-in-a-lifetime, well-worth it, trip.

The places we went to were highly enjoyable, especially South Georgia, which lived up to all its hype with colonies of thousands of seals, and hundreds of thousands of penguins. Also Cuverville and Peterman Islands off the Antarctic Peninsula were great to see, and we made an unscheduled stop at the Falklands to see a rockhopper penguin colony, a real bonus. there were also some good whale sightings. The Aurora Crew were off the highest standard for their knowledge and communication skills. The new ship, the Greg Mortimer is a luxury hotel on the seas, possibly too luxurious for where we were going. The ship's staff were all impeccable, the food was outstanding but there was too much of it, I shudder to think of how much was wasted. There was a bug that went around the ship and like most of the people on board I got horribly sick, though fortunately not until the last few days of the cruise. The Start Date was listed as 29 Nov but the cruise did not actually sail until 30 Nov, causing me to arrive in Ushuaia a day earlier than I needed to. December in the Antarctic is still the end of winter rather than summer, so January/February might be the best time to go. The Drake Passage crossings were fairly smooth - the worst seas we encountered were coming back from South Georgia to the Falklands and the Falklands to Ushuaia. I wonder if it would be better to go round in the other direction - Falklands first, then South Georgia then the Antarctic Peninsula, but maybe the Drake crossing from South Georgia to the Peninsula would be tougher sailing into the current. It was a mostly good trip. but I can't give it 5 stars because of the illness and fair bit of bad weather (which no one can do anything about of course). The Aurora crew constantly had problems with the video system in the lecture theatre. Hopefully that will be worked out in time. And there was also a mercenary aspect, US$270 automatically added to your shipboard account for tips, which was a bit presumptuous. The cruise was, apart from my house, the most expensive thing I've ever paid for in my life, and I let the cost of it all bother me more than it should have. While prices in the shop and the bar were sky-high, what was included, such as the polar jackets and house wine at dinner, was all very good.

We planned our whole trip with Aurora and it went off brilliantly. The overall experience was excellent. The information provided during the trip, the access to knowledgeable staff and crew of the ship was great. Access to the bridge was unique. We felt safe and well looked after.

The expedition crew was fabulous-I can’t say enough good things about them. They were very knowledgeable, helpful, kind, courteous, fun and flexible. Our expedition leader -Stephen-did am amazing job “recreating “ each day for us.

The' trip of a lifetime turned out to be exactly that.'
The Greg Mortimer ship is a fantastic purpose built ship and functioned extremely well.
The activities crew were a terrific group of professional people lead extremely well by Steve.
they were all very knowledgeable and passionate about the environment but didn't try to push any philosophies too hard.
The service crew were also terrific and the food and beverages were of a really high standard.
Our cabin was really well laid out , always kept neat and tidy.
The open bridge policy was a very positive experience and really gave a great insight re the responsibilities of the Captain and his team.

We did a cruise/fly expedition in January 2020. What an amazing experience; the expedition crew are so knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Our cabin (standard A) was super comfortable, plenty of space and we loved the big glass sliding window - never closed the curtains once! Overall the food was good, we laughed about the beer and wine being 'local' because the beer came from South Africa and the wine from all over the world but this gave us loads of choice. A very well organised cruise, no long waits to go ashore and the flight from St George Island went as scheduled. Then there is the incredible scenery and wildlife. Just an outstanding experience, thank you Aurora

My Antarctic expedition with Aurora more than met all of my expectations in terms of experiencing a unique environment, wild life observations and encounters, snow-shoe hiking, brilliant photography opportunities and excellent lectures covering the history of Antarctic exploration and specialist lectures by the naturalists. This was a fantastically well organised and active expedition with knowledgeable, experienced and fun expedition leaders. We were privileged to have Greg Mortimer himself on board as the Expedition leader, together his wife Margaret, to celebrate the maiden voyage of the new icebreaker named in his honour. The Captain, crew, dining and housekeeping staff and the facilities on board also get a 5 star rating. I plan to take more expeditions with Aurora Expeditions as I prefer the smaller group, more personalised expedition experience.

Outstanding .. It was a really well organised, high quality trip with an fantastic ship, superb cuisine, and outstanding staff.
