Awful customer service
I took my wife's engagement ring in for a repair (2nd time in 4 years) as the clasp on the main diamond was loose. I dropped it on February 19th and was informed it takes approximately 4 weeks.
I followed it up 5 weeks later and had to chase a couple more times until they realised they have lost it. They called me without an apology and said a new one would be made. I have left a messages with the Manchester branch to call and discuss as well as the head office including several emails. Again without reply. The level of customer service is appalling and I except things can go missing, however if they use a courier like they say and have a system in place how does it take a month before they find out it's lost.

Poor quality and customer service
I’m extremely disappointed with the service and quality of the ring I purchased from Austen and Blake. My partner bought a ring for me, which cost over £1450, and after only 13 months of wear, a stone fell out. This ring was designed for everyday use, so I expected it to be durable.
When I sent the ring back to them for inspection, they claimed that "fibres in the halo suggest the prongs may have snagged on clothing, leading to one prong snapping and the stone being lost." This explanation doesn’t sit right with me, especially for such an expensive piece of jewelry. I was expecting a lot more durability, and to be honest, the response was far from acceptable.
To add to this, I was pregnant for 9 months and wasn’t engaging in any activities that would cause the prongs to snag. It’s incredibly frustrating to be given a vague explanation that doesn’t align with the care I’ve taken with the ring.
On top of that, they asked me to pay £90 to fix the issue, which I feel is completely unreasonable. Given the high price of the ring, I would expect better craftsmanship and customer care. When I disputed the £90 charge, they completely ignored my emails and have still not returned my ring.
It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that not only produces faulty products but also offers awful customer service. I would not recommend buying from Austen and Blake, as they clearly don’t stand behind the quality of their products or take responsibility for issues that arise. At this point, I’m left with a ring that’s still in their possession, no resolution, and no communication. Stay away from this company if you value customer service and quality.

Really Great Ring Buying Experience
Austen & Blake is the best retailer to buy a diamond ring. We walked into store and were greeted with a fantastic modern store. We did not have an appointment but I checked online and knew slots were available. We sat down with Charlotte who offered to go through all the options of a ring available.
We were surprised at the different options available and being able to make the perfect combination for my wife. 0% interest finance offered for 6 months which really helped make the choice. 4 weeks later we came in store to a perfectly designed, fitted and quality ring in budget.
Really can't recommend Austen & Blake Manchester and Charlotte enough for the excellent experience of buying a ring perfect for my wife.

Engagement Ring Manchester
My partner proposed over a year ago and over the past year the original ring has caused us nothing but headache! We approached Austen & Blake in Manchester to have one made and the process has been seamless throughout!
We attended an appointment with Aneesah to try on different styles, metal colours and diamond shapes and decided on a 2.5ct Oval Cut Sabrina style. We picked our own specific diamond from the market and placed the order on the 7th of January. We asked A&B if there was any possibility it could be ready for our holiday on the 2nd of February (going back to where we got engaged so it’s special) and they did everything they could to source our stone quickly and make the ring.
On the 30th we got a call to say our ring was ready to collect in the store! We collected it today and it is absolutely unreal! I was shaking when I saw it. The attention to detail from A&B has been second to none. Thank you so much for making us a ring that will last and one that we can admire on my hand rather than sending it in and out of repair shops every 2/3 months!

AWFUL service. Do not trust / use!
Update: still waiting to hear please can customer services get in touch! Heard nothing since they replied to this thread.
No compensation given. :( ? What terrible service that ruined our engagement. My fiancé proposed to me with a gorgeous ring last October. The ring needed to be re sized slightly so we made a trip into the branch to sort this and was guaranteed it would be sent and done within 2 weeks especially with Christmas round the corner. 4/5 weeks later and after constant chasing about our ring with many failed attempts at getting through to anyone at customer service or the shop, we were told little to nothing right up until Christmas.
Then to our absolute dismay, we were told that sadly the ring has been lost in the post on route back to Manchester mail centre!!?.
Along with other orders from the shop.
So our ring was just lost. Right before Christmas and weeks after we originally was meant to be receiving the resized ring back. As it’s an engagement ring and the ring my partner had already proposed to me with, we were heartbroken that they could simply loose such a package.
After many disappointing emails and finally someone was able to speak to us via the phone (we weren’t aloud their number or any customer service number only an email) which proved frustrating. We were told they would simply just remake the ring for us.
It doesn’t replace what they have lost. The least they should do is remake the ring which THEY have lost. All of Christmas and new year we were without the ring again waiting for the remake which was another few weeks.
We had to book another appointment and more time off work to travel into the city centre store to collect the ring once it had been resized and made….
We go into the store for the third time to collect the ring thinking everything will be ok and they had remade the ring…BUT to the WRONG size. ?!
After we checked with them numerous times and having email confirmation that the ring would be the NEW size… it was made to the original order size?! And no one had checked it for us before we made the travel into the store. We were in disbelief of the incompetence.
Ridiculous so much for being their highest priority and taking the care and thought after what had happened to us originally. So we left the store AGAIN without the ring having to have it re sized and sent away for a second time. The whole experience has just tainted our engagement sadly, you’d expect the highest level of customer service with the value of items at stake here.
Please avoid!! With the amount of bad communication, careless thought and our trust completely broken we won’t be returning to Austen and Blake and advise others to do the same. With no care or thought over people’s sentimental belongings once money has been taken, the after care is truly awful.. Please can customer service respond to our emails!?!! The ring was/is lovely just such a shame about the service and how long it’s taken to be resolved. Specifically the after care. No compensation has been given and we are still awaiting a response.
