Scammers for motor vehicle sellers

Total scam preying on motor vehicle sellers in Australia. They pretend they're really interested in buying your car and ask you to download a vehicle report from their website.

Australiancarcheck.com is another of these scam sites. Had a very articulate and persistent ‘buyer’ try and direct me to get a report from there. Thankfully I had the sense to see the red flags with the lack of the .au and non-government site supposedly giving detailed reports on vehicles. Um, don’t think so!!!

Disgusting scam

Disgusting scam.
Took money out of my account and said we must have authorised it.
Think how many people they are taking money from with out permission.
I never authorised payment to them. No rego due at the dates they said we took it out.
I have reported to the bank .
Why are they still able to do this.
Wrong on all levels.

I reported them to scam watch but I…

I reported them to scam watch but I don't understand why no one is stopping them stealing money! Their website link showed up between 2 QLDtransport websites. I needed a car rego certificate to apply for a job. I made a mistake. They charged me .50cents. I called the bank and they cancelled my card. Called ausvehiclecheck and woman hung up on me as I asked what am I paying .50cents for exactly? Hope they get shut down! Who is turning a blind eye to them and why?

Preys on clickbait mistake, not a genuine service

Like others here I accidentally tried to check my registration status with Qld Transport, arrived at this website and signed up not knowing I was in for a monthly slog. It went on for several months before I realised and cancelled. It is not ethical business practice to be making money off people's ignorance and use of online sources to check on their vehicle registration. Should be shut down on a Trade Practices Act basis.

Scammers who should be shut down

Ausvehiclecheck is a scam and should be shut down immediately. Unknowingly, Ausvehiclecheck accessed my credit card details and charged a $9.95 membership fee to my account. I have subsequently stopped my credit card to avoid future fraudulent activity by this scam operator. Avoid at all costs. I also contacted the operator who has supposedly closed my (unathorised) account.

New Modus Operandus

These criminals have a new modus operandus.

They have created pages on Facebook raffling off cars and gold bullion and other stuff, all purportedly in the interests of some charity or other.

When it comes to buying a ticket, they do not offer the option of Paypal (which has stricter operating guidelines) but you can only buy a ticket in the raffle by supplying your credit card details.

By some means or other their Facebook pages are headed "Sponsored" which suggests/implies that their page is sponsored by Facebook, thereby giving an aura of "legitimacy" to their Facebook page. Facebook clearly are profiting by this "sponsored" racket and are living off the proceeds of crime in doing so.

These pages are NOT legitimate. Facebook takes their money but doesn't vet them. They are fronts for criminal activity.

I am still wondering how this bunch of scammers (ausvehiclecheck) got hold of my credit card details, email address etc, as I have never used their services in my life.

The only link I can possibly presume is that they are behind one of these criminal Facebook fronts, but the question then becomes - which one- as they are breeding like flies.

So be wary of this new way of extracting from you your credit card details, as the first sign that they have got you is when strange debits appear on your credit card statement.

Am reporting to the ACCC.

I just discovered that their office address is a virtual address!

I have just called the number on their website and had the charges cancelled, just make sure you know whose email address was used to sign up with.

Rubbish

Was looking for a vehicle check when buying a new car, and as with all others, scammed into a $9.95 a month subscription for no apparent ongoing service. Would also give them minus stars if it were possible.
